LIFESTYLE: Our First Day At ME, Mallorca

Wednesday, 22 July 2015

We arrived at our hotel, luggage and all at around 2pm. We were greeted at the hotel entrance with a glass of cava each which was a lovely touch!

We couldnt check in until 3 so we left out luggage with reception and went outside to the pool bar for some cocktails in the sunshine. The outside pool and bar area was amazing so I was happy enough there!
When we did finally check in we were super excited to see our room. We had booked the passion suit and it was amazing! Of course there was the big white bed and the room was huge. Space for a table and chairs, a sofa and an amazing bathtub looking out to the sea. Plus we had our lovely sea view balcony! We loved our room!
After a look around we changed straight into our swimwear and headed back down to the pool. I wore my favourite new bikini which I bought from New Look the day before. Its black and has some cage detailing and after wearing it for the day I now really want the white one too! I paired it with my new kimono from Very for the perfect poolside look.

We were lucky enough to grab ourselves a premium bali bed for the day so after settling down there we ordered some more cocktails and got some major relaxation in after the busy morning.

We got dinner on the beach that night and of course a few more cocktails before heading to bed!

LIFESTYLE: Driving Story With More Th>n

Tuesday, 21 July 2015

I took my driving test almost four years ago now and I'm pretty pleased to be able to say that I passed first time. After passing however, I didn't get insured straight away because it was just too much for the amount I would have been using it. Car insurance was so expensive but MORE TH>N SM>RT WHEELS could help young drivers save up to £750 today, wouldn't it have been great if I knew that three years ago haha. To be fair, I didn't really need it when we lived in our old house but when we moved out to Epping, it looked like I was going to need to drive a bit more.

Turned out I didnt really need to drive all that much although it was great to be insured incase I wanted to pop down to the post office to pick up my post or go and get a friend or my brothers from the station now that we lived much further out.

So on to my story. You may remember a few month ago, I was desperately looking for a job when one came up in Borham Wood. It was perfect, the exact job I was looking for and I could work from home too - I'd have to drive there once maybe twice a week but I could work from home for the rest of the time. Only thing I was a little bit worried about was the drive because I didnt drive much as it was and I had never been on a motorway before.

Anyway, my mum convinced me it would be fine and even offered to come with me to the interview and help me drive there and back for the first time - bad idea haha. Strangely, (despite driving perfectly fine for the past 35 years) she was just as confused as me and ended up directing me off of a major roundabout in the wrong lane, between two huge lorries who nearly squished us together.

We finally got the the interview and all in one piece as well. I even got the job but I turned it down. haha there was no way I was ever driving back there again!!
P.S It never looks this dirty. My mum went out in it yesterday and someone cleaning their drive sprayed mud all over it.    **

LIFESTLYE: How To Get A Better Nights Sleep

Monday, 20 July 2015

Since we moved house, I don't really sleep too well. Its my own fault - I replay the moment back in my head every night when I get into bed "would you like blackout blinds or normal ones?", "oh, normal will be fine!" How wrong I was.

So when Barker and Stonehouse contacted me to see if I’d like to be involved with their new campaign about getting a good nights sleep I was pretty interested. It involved me (and a few other bloggers) trialling four natural sleep remedies over the course of a month to see if any of them helped - they sent over a box of stuff and I got started.
For the first week, I was asked to try using the lavender pillow spray. This happened to be the week that I was in Benidorm with Georgia and I didn't take it with because it would have gotten confiscated at security (I totally didn't forget to pack. OK I did, but that excuse is much better)

I did have a chance to use it for a couple of days before I left though and I quite liked it! The smell is lovely just on its own but of course it was great that it made me super relaxed too. I think it did help me drift off when I managed to use it.
Next up for testing was Cherry Juice. Odd. I have never heard of that making you sleep better before and I absolutely hate anything that tastes like cherries so this one really wasn't for me. I had to give it a try, for the experiment but I only did it twice and it didn't really make any difference so I gave up after that.
Week three suggested a hot bath. This was also a hard one for me because I don't have a bath at home although I know that whenever I have one at Andrews I am so sleepy afterwards so they definitely help.
Lastly was a relaxation CD that they sent over. Now this one works in theory but I get too stressed about leaving the CD running while I'm asleep to actually let myself fall asleep without turning it off.

It's great, however, for afternoon naps with Andrew because I know I wont be asleep for the next eight hours or he can turn it off if I am!
At the end of it all - they put together a little guide with some of my opinions here on their site! I'm definitely sticking with the lavender spray!

FASHION: SpyLoveBuy Giveaway

Wednesday, 15 July 2015

This is the first of a few posts about my recent holiday to Mallorca! I'm excited to show you a few more of my outfits and lots of holiday snaps so keep an eye out for the upcoming posts!

We took these outside the hotel in the pretty outside lobby sort of space. There were white sofas and chairs but I loved sitting up on the ledge looking at all the pretty flowers while we waited for our cab into the old town - Palma.

Recognise this top? I told you I was going to find a more summery way to wear it. It was the perfect floaty piece for lunch in the super hot 36° heat. Paired up with my light demin shorts, my new ray bans and of course my new gladiator sandals which are the main attraction in this post!

The team at SpyLoveBuy are giving me a pair of these to giveaway to one of my readers so make sure you enter at the end once you get through the photos!

FASHION: Festival Style

Monday, 13 July 2015

I have spoken about my uncertainty on festivals here before - I love a day time festival where I can have a super amazing day and then I can go home at the end of it and get into bed but the thought of staying overnight really doesn't do it for me. I've never done it before but camping on the grass, no phone charger and waking up a sweaty mess isn't for me, when it comes to over night I'm more into experience days like a spa retreat or posh hotel but still, I love the fashion that goes with them. I haven't sorted anything festivaly this year but I would love to go along to something for the day so I thought I'd put together a little wishlist of a few of my favourite pieces at the moment!
I just love this elephant print and its summery colours. I want it in the dress and the amazing shorts. I already have three versions of this dress and I wear them all loads so this would be a great new addition to my collection!

Every year I look at all the floppy hats in the shops but I am yet to own one. This one from Topshop is perfect and great protection from the sun when you are outside all day!

Wellies are a festival staple and Hunter Wellies are the only way to go! I have a patent black pair from a few years ago but I think I would go for the classic colour if I were to get a new pair!

I have a pair of Quay sunglasees and they are by far the most sturdy pair I own. I was looking through their site today when I was drawn to these ones, then I realsied that its the same pair I bought last year in a different colour haha.
