London On The Weekend In My Favourite Dress

I've been a huge fan of Motel Rocks since I first spotted them as a Topshop concession in 2009. Back then (lol) it was all about the bodycon and I bought up four versions of the same dress in different colours and wore them whenever I got the chance! I loved those dresses.

I rarely wear anything too tight any more but I am still totally obsessed with the brand and my collection of Motel dresses have been a godsend these past few weeks. I am currently loving the more floaty shapes and for last weeks heat, this Tiara dress in Elephant Parade was perfect! In true Georgina style, I also have it in two other prints but my parents bought my this bright orange one for christmas and its my favourite of the three.

The Tiara shape is a smock dress with just a little more shape than most of the others, it also has a pretty lace up detail at the back and I just love the Indian (I think?) elephant print on this one. It's actually what inspired my whole blog redesign a few months ago.

I wore it last Saturday for brunch with Andrew. It'd been a few months since our last brunch date so I was very excited to have won a tab at Christophers which I booked up for my first weekend back in the UK. Andrew and I were the first ones in, eager as usual and ordered as much as we could manage. He had an omelette with truffle fries, tea, coffee and juice whilst I also had an orange juice with my lobster benedict and a side of avocado. Obviously. And after that, I had dessert. Go hard or go home right?! We had a lovely couple of hours stuffing our faces with delicious food.

Since it was such a warm day, we decided to walk it off and spent the afternoon walking through London. Andrew took charge and was my tour guide taking us through a part of town that I dont really know that well. We saw the Tate Modern, Shakespeare's' Globe and The Golden Hinde, I never did any of the tourist stuff when I was younger so this was all totally new. We managed 18,000+ steps before getting on the Central line at Liverpool street to go one stop before it broke down again and we had to get an Uber home. I had a great time and I think the fact that I dont even have any photos from the walk says something, right? It was nice to just enjoy being with Andrew.

Its a well known fact that Motel Rocks is my favourtite brand. Only problem for me, is it can be pretty expensive, but its a popular brand so if you look properly, you can easily find it much cheaper. Ebay is great for Motel! I have bought so many brand new items for less than £5 on there (heres my latest purchase which cost me £3) I also find cheap pieces in the Topshop sale and in loads of online shops too.

This amazing playsuit came from Get The Lable* and is £21 cheaper there than its original price. Not bad! I already have a Motel dress in this print and I just think it is so pretty. This is an XS which is smaller than I usually get but it seems to fit fine - a bit big if anything but it laces up across the back so you can make it as tight or as loose as you like. I love a playsuit in the summer time, I'm hoping the sun stays out for tomorrow becuase we are having a big wedding reunion BBQ and I would love to wear this for it!

I took my driving test almost four years ago now and I'm pretty pleased to be able to say that I passed first time. After passing however, I didn't get insured straight away because it was just too much for the amount I would have been using it. Car insurance was so expensive but MORE TH>N SM>RT WHEELS could help young drivers save up to £750 today, wouldn't it have been great if I knew that three years ago haha. To be fair, I didn't really need it when we lived in our old house but when we moved out to Epping, it looked like I was going to need to drive a bit more.

Turned out I didnt really need to drive all that much although it was great to be insured incase I wanted to pop down to the post office to pick up my post or go and get a friend or my brothers from the station now that we lived much further out.

So on to my story. You may remember a few month ago, I was desperately looking for a job when one came up in Borham Wood. It was perfect, the exact job I was looking for and I could work from home too - I'd have to drive there once maybe twice a week but I could work from home for the rest of the time. Only thing I was a little bit worried about was the drive because I didnt drive much as it was and I had never been on a motorway before.

Anyway, my mum convinced me it would be fine and even offered to come with me to the interview and help me drive there and back for the first time - bad idea haha. Strangely, (despite driving perfectly fine for the past 35 years) she was just as confused as me and ended up directing me off of a major roundabout in the wrong lane, between two huge lorries who nearly squished us together.

We finally got the the interview and all in one piece as well. I even got the job but I turned it down. haha there was no way I was ever driving back there again!!

P.S It never looks this dirty. My mum went out in it yesterday and someone cleaning their drive sprayed mud all over it. **

I have spoken about my uncertainty on festivals here before - I love a day time festival where I can have a super amazing day and then I can go home at the end of it and get into bed but the thought of staying overnight really doesn't do it for me. I've never done it before but camping on the grass, no phone charger and waking up a sweaty mess isn't for me, when it comes to over night I'm more into experience days like a spa retreat or posh hotel but still, I love the fashion that goes with them. I haven't sorted anything festivaly this year but I would love to go along to something for the day so I thought I'd put together a little wishlist of a few of my favourite pieces at the moment!

I just love this elephant print and its summery colours. I want it in the dress and the amazing shorts. I already have three versions of this dress and I wear them all loads so this would be a great new addition to my collection!

Every year I look at all the floppy hats in the shops but I am yet to own one. This one from Topshop is perfect and great protection from the sun when you are outside all day!

Wellies are a festival staple and Hunter Wellies are the only way to go! I have a patent black pair from a few years ago but I think I would go for the classic colour if I were to get a new pair!

I have a pair of Quay sunglasees and they are by far the most sturdy pair I own. I was looking through their site today when I was drawn to these ones, then I realsied that its the same pair I bought last year in a different colour haha.

Wamo is a new app that I have been really enjoying using lately. You create lists of all sorts of things from clothes, beauty items, technology ect. Each item you put in a list, you can then tag saying that love, hate, want or need them. They also run daily competitions with big brands to win the items you love - all you usually have to do it add an item from their store into one of your lists - simple as.

I added this Motel Rocks dress to my need list last week so when the guys at WAMO got in touch with me and offered to have me pick something from one of my lists, this was my first call. This is one of Motels' best ever dresses in my opinion and I'd say alot of people agree because its stayed in they range online and in Topshop for ages. I bought the sunflower version in the summer and I loved wearing it so much that I have wanted a more wintery version for months. The material is light and floaty and it has a cute tie up detail at the back.

Last week I was lucky enough to go along to the Motel Rocks party which was held at the Far Rockaway in Shoreditch! There were rails and rails of new Motel clothes which were amazing as usual, lots of sparkles, satins and lurex, lots of textures and pretty shapes as well! After a look through them all we spent the night getting our nails done and our tarot cards read, eating sweets and yummy pizza and drinking lots and lots of champagne provided my Friexinet which would explain my lack of good photos! So here's a few snapshots from my night!

This last weekend was super hot and it was amazing! I feel like I've been on holiday all week with this weather - I spent most of the day yesterday, laying on the floor, on a towel in the sun with Molly, but I was up super fast when the postman knocked at my door with my amazing new dress! I had to try it on straight away - it was perfect for going out in this weather! It's the Savannah dress in hot pink from Motel Rocks, I have been on the look out for another easy to wear day or night time dress and this is just that! I love the bright, in your face colours and the cold shoulder aspect, I don't have anything else cut like that! Here, I have just paired it with some heels, a super cute pineapple necklace (definitely in the holiday mood) and my summery Mark Jacobs perfume for an evening look but for the day it would be perfect matched with some sandals, sunglasses and a big bag!

Last week I was very lucky to be invited down to the Hummingbird Bakery (Soho branch) for the first time ever and given a few cakes to try!

Having walked past it a couple of times recently, I already knew it was a cute little pink shop but going in an having a look at all the amazing looking cakes was quite an experience! Everything looked amazing, there were rows and rows of cupcakes and then a big collection of big cake stands at the end with the most amazing looking cakes I've ever seen plus whoopie pies and tray bakes! The first one that I was drawn to and had to try was the rainbow cake, I have attempted to make one before and it was a big failure to I was a little star struck or cake struck to see such a perfect one with such bright colours and very defined lines, the cake itself was very moist and tasted rather normal - I was expecting it to taste like food colouring considering the craziness of its colour, but it was a really lovely sponge! I was also super shocked that the icing wasn't just plain vanilla like I was expecting but super sweet bubblegum flavour.

The next cake didn't need thinking about, even before I had arrived, I knew that I had to try one of their red velvet cakes, no questions asked. I couldn't leave without trying one of the pretty cupcakes so this time I went for a red velvet cupcake rather than a big slice. My friend, Alice met me after work so we tried that one together, she was actually the one who mentioned their red velvet cakes to me in the first place so she was the right person to try it with! It was just as amazing as I'd heard, lovely moist sponge with loads of amazing cream cheese icing - red velvet is taking over and is definitely their most popular - I can see why, its now my flavour of choice too!

The staff in store were lovely and very helpful, after spending the afternoon sitting in there watching the world go by, I soon learnt that although it's super busy and there were people dropping in all afternoon, they knew their customers very well! Alot of their conversations finished with see you tomorrow at the end and for others who were just as unfamiliar as me, they staff knew their stuff, one lady popped in to pick up some cupcakes for catching up with her friend that night and asked one of the girls about alot of the cakes, she knew every exact details of each cake, it was very impressive.

Huge Thanks to the Hummingbird Bakery for a lovely afternoon and starting my new addiction! I will be popping in every time I walk past from now on!

Crocs? You read it right, in this outfit, I am in fact wearing a pair of Crocs, although you wouldn't recognise them for the huge rounds mules they were released in 2002. I had a silver pair with flower accessories pushed into the little holes and even at the time I didn't like wearing them haha they were a savour though out my spine op though, so so comfy, definitely not going to slip on the hospital floor and so easy to slip on when it was already taking 15 minutes to get to the toilet haha.

After my operation, I never really saw or heard of Crocs again, they were gone.. or so I thought haha. The next time I saw them was when they opened a shop at Westfield Stratford, I spend so much time there I wouldn't have missed a new shop opening! It was full of all sorts of shoes, crocs are no longer a big clumpy mule but they do cute little sandals, boots, even heels and of course, the boat shoes featured in today's post, which are just as comfy, non slips and easy to wear as the originals! These will be great for a day at the beach or a water park but this time, this time I just wore them for lunch with Andrew.

Today is my blogs second birthday! How crazy is that, I have been doing this almost every single day for two years today, So before I go on to today's main post, I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who has supported me and helped me to grow my blog!

Today, also (hopefully) marks the start of going outside for outfit photos again! The background might look a little different as I have moved house since the last time but I finally convinced Andrew to take some photos for my outside of my bedroom. I was hoping for the field across the road but I settled with the garden - it was better than nothing hahah

I am wearing this beautiful shift dress from Motel Rocks today. It is one of my favourite shaped dresses. I have quite a few shifts but this one is one of the better shaped ones. It's also made of a lovely flowing material which makes it great for dressing up for the evening or dressing down for a festival or a day at the park!

This time, I dressed it up with my new pair of cleated heels! I know I'm a little late with these but I'm just happy to finally have a pair, I love how big they are and that the heel isn't insanely heavy like I was excepting. I tried to go out in stilettos last night and I'd forgotten how hard they were to walk in ahh clumpy heels are more my thing and so much easier to walk in!

Last week I was invited to the Motel Rocks press day to check out their new collection. Motel Rocks don't do thinks like other brands, their press day was in an underground bar. We were welcomed with a Malibu cocktail in red cups. There was a popcorn machine, candy floss, a photo booth and a couple of band performances to accompany their new collection!

I have been Motel's biggest fan for as long as I can remember - My first ever blog post - here - was even about my love of their dresses and how I bought the same one is three different colours haha I now have four haha.

As usual the whole range is amazing, it consisted of lots of co ords and amazing textures as well as some of their staple sparkly dresses! Motel also never fail to amaze me with their patterns, it went from lemon prints to acid green and black strips and lots in between! I loved most of it!

Thanks Motel for a lovely evening full of pretty clothes and a great chance to catch up with friends!
