February already!? All I've seen is people moaning on social media about the longest January in history but mine was actually a blast; by the end, I found myself actually wishing it wasn't going to end. But now that it has, Valentines day is the next big thing right? In a relationship or not, I have always loved Valentines day. Heart shaped chocolates, all the lovey dovey stuff in the shops and a good excuse to go and buy some gifts.

Last year, I hit up Brent Cross Shopping Center in North London to go on a pre-valentines day splurge & bought all that my heart could desire at this time of year: chocolate, underwear and avo toast for lunch. Obvs; that's all I ever want for lunch.

As you guys may already know, I'm in Vietnam this February so I couldn't make it to the centre for another splurge. Instead, I'm going to share with you what I would have liked to buy this time if I had been able to pop in.

Date Night Dress

This cream dress from River island really caught my eye. I love the hem and combined with the boning and long sleeves, I think it looks really sophisticated. A bardot neckline can also be really flattering and a different way to show off some skin. Like it's been styled here, I'd add a pop of colour with the shoes, maybe pink for the special occasion?

I also spotted a lot of longer, chiffon style dresses when I was looking online and I think they are really perfect for valentines day. A long floaty dress can be so romantic; especially in lighter tones, I think they have a kind of  dreamland feel to them. This maxi dress from Topshop is a really beautiful piece with a bit of a self portrait vibe about it. Sophisticated style, beautiful layers and lace details. 

And for something a bit brighter, this ochre colour seems to be everywhere so if you're feeling brave enough to try it out all over, this front tie dress from Miss Selfridge would be my choice. It's super floaty again but with such a bright, block colour, it works much better as a mini dress.

Jewellery

While jewellery is a good idea all year around, Valentine's day is a great excuse to treat yourself, your girls or your loved ones. Fraser hart just reopened at Brent Cross after a big extension so there's even more choice in there now. They hold all sorts of brands from Rolex to Swarvoski which is usually my go to when it comes to jewellery because of the simplicity of their pieces and also, they're pretty affordable! Yes, I already have a small collection of their skinny bracelets but this Crystal Rhodium Plated Round Tennis Bracelet has really caught my eye. I just think it's so dainty and classy.

Talking of classy and simple, I love this Kate Spade watch that can be found in Ernest Jones in Brent Cross. It's part of the Holland collection and just so simple; for me, less is always more when it comes to jewellery. Whilst I'm not usually a navy person, it is also really pretty in navy and rose gold.

 And anyone who already has a Pandora bracelet is super easy to buy for because a new charm is always going to be appreciated. These are a few of my current favourites.

Cute Gifts 

I got given a scrapbook as a gift last Christmas and even though it was a very simple idea, it was honestly one of the best gifts I have ever received. I spent my whole year working through it; filling it with photos of happy memories and now that 2017 is over, it's still something I look back over all the time. Paperchase is the best place to get one, I'd go for something simple like a brown or black one (you can  get these personalised) and gift it along with some fun stickers and colourful washi tape.

Chocolate. Because what's a special occasion without chocolate?! John Lewis or Fenwick is where I usually go for it at Brent Cross. I love Hotel Chocolat or Charbonnel et Walker. Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles are my absolute fave but as long as it's either valentines day coloured or valentines day shaped I'm usually happy.

I know last year, I spent most of day in Victoria's secret. While underwear is a very personal thing, I thought this backpack was the perfect thing to add to my gift guide. Anything with patches, sequin ones at that and I'm done, look how cute it is and practical too.

December is here, Christmas is finally on its way and I can’t tell you how excited I am. I am so ready for all the Christmas cheer, the food, the family – I can’t wait! To kick of the season’s postings, I’m going to start with a gift guide for her and I’m going to fill it full of the sort of things that I would love to receive.

CHOCOLATE: More specifically, Hotel Chocolat and whilst I eat more than enough throughout the year, posh Christmas chocolate is just that much more exciting. Everyone indulges around this time of year so giving something sweet as a gift is usually a safe bet.

PERFUME: Perfume is my go to gift all year around - I think they make such great gifts and at this time of year especially, it’s easy to get all sorts of giftsets where you get another scented product as well as the perfume! It’s pretty easy to find something you know they are going to love!

Sweet like Candy Giftset By Ariana Grande: Whilst it’s pretty bottle and sweet smell is aimed at a younger audience, this is something my nana would LOVE. Ari’s bottles are some of my favourite with the striking geogmetric sphere and a cute pom pom attached to the lid. This time, it’s all matte baby pink making the hard bottle design very soft and girly. The scent is fruity with tones of blackberry and honeydew melon and sweet with marshmallow. The giftset includes 50ml of the scent, a 100ml body lotion and the cutest little cosmetic case. £31

Wonderlust by Michael Kors: I’m pretty sure my mum would love this one – shes a big fan of MK fragrances and with mandarin in its top notes (one of my favourite scents), this is another delicious scent. This time though, it’s in a new bottle – usually they are very square but Wonderlust is in a curved bottle. 100ml costs £84

Beyoncé Heat Seduction: In a signature Heat bottle, Beyoncé’s latest fragrance pulled me in again, with the mention of mandarin in its top notes along with some other exotic ingredients like Island Spice, Gingerlily and African Jungle Trail Orchid. 100ml costs £19

I Love Juicy Couture: Viva La Juicy was the first fragrance that I remember wearing – my best friend had it and I used to spray it all over myself whenever I was at hers. I Love Juicy Couture is the latest fragrance from them and combines fruits and floral flavours with amber and musk. With a gold leopard print across the bottle channels fun glamour. 100ml costs £69

BOSS THE SCENT for her: I first smelt this at a press day a few weeks ago and it became my favourite scent of the year; there and then! With honeyed peach and freesia it smells just like a Peach Bellini and because that’s my favourite drink, it made me smile. 50ml costs £36 

Hollister Wave: Wave comes for him and for her and as with most scents that come out of Hollister, this reminds me of sunny days at the beach. With citrus and floral notes, this fragrance is very refreshing but also quite young. Perfect for the pre-teens in your life! 100ml costs £35

BATH AND BODY: Bath stuff never used to interest me before I got a job. Nowadays, a long, hot bath with some of my favourite products and a little bit of pampering is a luxury that I look forward to!

LUSH Golden Wonder: Recognise this? You might do it you’ve ever used LUSH’s golden wonder bath bomb – it looks like a real life version and of course it’s bath bomb double comes inside. Along with the citrusy golden wonder bath bomb, there is another Christmas favourite – the shimmering star dust bath bomb. £9.95

LUSH Merry & Bright: I love this set because it has a few different types of products in it - Fireside soap, yuzu and cocoa shower cream and red fun! Doesn’t it just made you think of sitting by the fire with a big cup of hot chocolate?!

Soap & Glory KHOL-EYED: I thought this was just a fun kaleidoscope when I first picked it up but in fact there are three Crazy Sexy Khol, long lasting eyeliners hidden inside! Colours are called Smoulder, Foil in love and What a night £10

YANKEE Star Anise & Orange Candle: I think good quality candles are great gifts to give – they make you feel warm and cosy so why wouldn’t you want to give that feeling to someone you love? This candle combines Orange and Star Anise all those Christmas vibes along with a refreshing citrus hit, giving it the scent of liquorice. £21.99

New Shoes: Whether it’s a pair of heels for the party season or fresh pair of vans or Doc Martins to stomp around in, shoes are usually a fail-safe and very practical gift that anyone would be pleased to receive!

Novelties from Hawkins Bazar: There’s always a place in our stockings for cheap novelty gifts - I love opening these fun little extras! Hawkins Bazaar have a whole range of stocking filler gifts ranging from the useful to the hilarious! The nose on this cute Rudolph mug goes red when a hot drink is poured in and I killed my desk plant (and the three before him) so I’m in line for a new one!

Filofax: I love a Filofax for keeping me in check, I fill it with all my plans, my to do lists and my blog notes and enjoy the physicality of it; it’s nice to be away from a screen sometimes. This year they have released a special edition rose gold version. I had to wait a while for it to come back into stock so I can already tell this one is going to be crazy popular. Costs £48

Yey It's that time again when I can start to get excited about Christmas, although in all honestly, I have been excited since October haha. I love Christmas and I love writing about it so lets get this giftset gift guide started! Have you been naughty or nice this year? If its the latter, why not treat yourself to a gift set too!

Molton Brown Gift Set

 This pretty little box is the Cruise Collection gift set which is exclusive to Boots. It costs £26 and contains four 100ml bottles in their Pink Pepperpod and White Sandalwood scents - you get a body wash and a body lotion in each scent! Aren't they just the perfect little bottles for a trip away!? I love the pretty colours together and they both have lovely winter scents.

Hotel Chocolat
I always get something from Hotel Chocolat for Christmas from Andrews family, I think it is a tradition of theirs which I am all to happy to be a part of! I eat chocolate all year round but Christmas is the perfect time to get hold of some of the more expensive higher quality stuff!

This is a giftset gift guide after all so after hunting through their site, I came across The Everything Collection which comes all wrapped up in a black box. It costs £25 and is filled with a selection of their most popular yummy treats - Billionaire’s Shortbread truffles (currently eating); Salted Caramel Puddles (already been eaten); Chocolate Brownies; Little Cheesecakes; 40% Milk Puddles; and a three nano slab and now that I have written this post.. I can tear into the rest!

Ghost Fragrance Gift Set

This is the Deep Night Gift Set for Ghost and it's also exclusive to Boots. The set contains at 30ml moon shape bottle of the fragrance and a 50ml of body lotion in the same Deep Night scent for £25. I love how the name of the perfume is inspired blossoms that it contains. The flower is called Belle Du Nuit which means Beauty of the night in French and means its quite fruity and floral. I also love the deep purple and sparkly silver together in the set.

L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Collection

Next up is the Delicate Cherry Blossom Collection from L’Occitane. This costs £49 and arrived in a lovely box wrapped up with a gold ribbon as you can see. The set contains an Eau de Toilette, Shower Gel, Shimmering Lotion, Soap and a Hand Cream all in the soft, fresh and floral cherry blossom scent reminiscent of the cherry trees blossoming on first day of Spring. Lovely for a mum or anyone whos into skincare.

Aromatherapy Associates
I was only introduced to Aromatherapy Associates myself earlier this year but as soon as I was, I fell in love with their luxuriousness. They are British brand, hand-blending essential oil with the idea to create a sense of well-being and mindfulness which I like the sound of!

Firstly, the packaging is so christmassy in red and gold, I love it! I've got the Bath Jewels set which comes in this pretty triangle casing and contains a Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil 9ml, a Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil 9ml and a De-Stress Mind Bath & Shower Oil 9ml - £28

These smaller set is called the Relax & Revive duo and also come in the pretty red and gold packaging. They are the perfect size roller balls to throw in your handbag and get out whenever you need to feel relaxed or revived when your out and about - £18

Crabtree & Evelyn Giftsets

So I mentioned Crabtree & Evelyn in last years guide and I have some products from them again this year as they are always beautifully packaged and just make perfect gifts. 

This year, I was lucky enough to get hold of one of their foodie gifts and I can see this is the sort of thing I would buy every year because the biscuits are so delicious. This tin comes in at £18.50 and includes around 30 assorted biscuits. Again, this year, I have a hand cream set similar to the trio set from last year and again, these are perfect! The pretty Christmas keepsakes tin contains three generously sized hand creams for £12.50 and they have five different sets so you can pick the scents you like best.

Baylis the Bear Gift Set
We all know bath products are great ideas for gifts, especailly for people you're not sure what to buy for! This kit from Baylis and Harding comes with a super cute teddy "Baylis The Bear." As well as Baylis, the set includes a spiced fruity (mandarin, grapefruit and lemon with jasmine and orange blossom) selection of body wash, lotion and bath salts.

Lush Winter Wonderland
This year, I was lucky enough to get hold of a Winter Wonderland giftset from Lush and I am so excited to use it! It comes in a big green hexagonal box and is wrapped up with a thick gold ribbon - very christmassy. This is one is for bath lovers and is full of bath bombs, melts and bubble bars. This set is massive with 20 products inside and is a huge joy to dig into, I had so much fun grabbing around to see what was going to come out next! I cant wait to try some of the ones I havent had before like Father Christmas and Cinders.

As a girl, I kinda find it hard to buy for guys, I dont know what they want - they wont be super excited to find a huge bar of chocolate or a little wrapped up bath bomb, at the bottom of a gift bag like I do (just me?) so I thought I would be proactive this year and actually take a month or two to start searchng for whats out there for men!

Wash bag and product sets

These sorts of gifts for guys seem really popular! I came across loads of them and found the right one for the each of the guys in my life. This skincare one from Man Cave at Superdrug. You get a brown wash bag which comes filled with a face scrub, face wash, moisturiser and a flannel, its going to be perfect for my youngest brother who is 16 and starting to really care about keeping his skin looking fresh and spot free.

This next one is hair based and is a 3-step Grooming Kit from Label M (£22.45) - featuring the GQ award-winning Scalp Purifying Shampoo, the everyday Grooming Cream and best-selling Deconstructor all presented in a stylish wash bag - perfect for my other brother who is a little bit emo (like I was haha) and has long annoying hair that needs to be in the right place at all times.

What other vanity kits did I find? Well there is this one from Bulldog. This one doesnt come with a bag but it's some of Andrews favourite stuff so a few products to top up his collection is perfect. As you can see, its called The Kennel and it's £12 from Boots.

and the last one I found was the Black Pepper and Ginsing set from Baylis & Harding which again, comes in a wash bag and is my favourite wash bag of the three. Inside are four mini products - a hair and body wash, aftershave balm, shower gel and face wash in the Black Pepper and Ginseng scent which is very musky and manly. This one seems that bit more grown up and classy - perfect for a weekend away!

Moving on to a different sort of bathroom product, I have this trio from Molton Brown which I think is a really lovely gift. The bottles are full sized and come in a smart silver box with a grey ribbon. The collection of three are all very manly scents - I think these will go down very well with the more sophisticated man!

Moving on to shaving gadgets and I have a couple! Firstly is this Gillette kit in collaboration with Spectre from Boots. Remember I was talking about my younger brother before? Well he's starting to need to shave and a kit like this is perfect because it looks great and contains everything he needs to get started (1 x FlexBall Manual Razor, 2 x ProGlide Razor Blades & 1 x ProGlide Shave Gel 75ml).

The next one is an electric razor from Braun Series 3.This is the kind of thing my grandad would love. It has been designed with MicroComb Technology, helping to get the closest shave and leave skin is less irritated. It's a little bit pricey but the perfect, useful gift!

Now we move away from bathroom based gifts on to some other bits and pieces. 

First is a new wallet - Yes! Men use wallets right? I know Andrew does, although he is super fussy and will only use it if it has a coin pocket so this one from Ralph Lauren's holiday shop is pretty perfect really. Its brown, soft leather and it has their logo embossed in the corner and it has a coin pocket.  Perfect.

and to finish off? Alcohol. I have two brothers and almost all of my friends are boys and do you know what boys like? They like alcohol. My brothers are going through their alcopop phase, my dad loves a cheeky beer in the evening and Andrew and his friends will drink anything from spirits to a bottle of rose. So it's really the perfect, fail safe gift.

My family love diet coke so around Christmas, the house is full of the stuff with and extra stash in the garage for backup so Disaronno and Tia Maria are the perfect bottles to leave out in the kitchen incase anyone fancies some in their drinks. Both of the bottles I have here are special edition - I went along to the Tia Maria X Grazia launch party a couple weeks ago and ended up with a bottle from the new collection in a lovely monochrome gift tin and the Disaronno is designed with Roberto Cavalli.

Whisky is one for my dad, so this bottle of Grants is perfect for him! He's not a huge drinker but has a garage full of bottles so whether he drinks this straight away or not, it'll be great for the collection.

When it comes to vodka, I just love Absolut. I love the writing on the frosted bottles and all the crazy flavours you can get it in. For my gift guide, I have a couple bottles of Absolut Peppar which is great for drinks like a Bloody Mary or anything with a bit of a spicy kick.

The wine is new in from Echo Falls and combines in some fruity flavours - I'm sure the boys would love these and as for the Babycham, it's always nice to have something sparkling.

Apart from the alcohol itself I also picked up some bits and pieces from funkin cocktails. Whats a boy to do with all this alcohol? Well in my brothers case, make cocktails - hes just started at uni and loves mixing things up to make something that tastes good and showing off to his friends so some bits and pieces from Funkin are great! They sell all sorts utensils and mixers to make the perfect cocktails.

Lastly - Aftershave! Guys often dont buy this sort of stuff for themselves so they make great christmas gifts! Here I have Hugo Boss and CK Eternity Now which is juicy with nectarine, succulent lychee, peach blossoms, and soft cashmere.

Recently I have realised that I much prefer an experience over an item and I think Andrew does too!

It's finally December and that brings the first of my gift guides! I say finally but seriously, this year has just flown by like crazy, from Andrews birthday to January, to Valentines day, my birthday and on to our anniversary and Halloween, I cant believe its nearly Christmas! 

I definitely started my Christmas shopping early and I got all of my big presents but I didn't manage to find everything I wanted - I like to fill up a little bag with goodies as well as a main gift so when ASOS got in touch and asked me to have a look through their gift section to see if I could find a few last minute bits and pieces (which they were kind enough to gift to me), it seemed like they had read my mind!

I never think to look through gift sections really as I usually know exactly what I'm going in for but I seriously had a lot of fun scrolling through ASOS's offerings. I ended up filling my basket up to around £300 with bits and pieces that I thought everyone would love as well as some things that made me giggle, I did whittle it down to the most important things though and for just under £100, I picked up all of this - I am most pleased with the whale mug (a treat for myself) and the toilet roll (brothers uni toilet - sorted) and as well as all the stupid novelty gifts that all the boys are going to love, there were also some lovely sophisticated gifts for the girls like a pair of leather gloves for just £20 (I think), a pretty little colouring book and a whole tin of Models Own polish! 

Free delivery and my huge box turned up just a couple of days after I ordered it - I can always trust ASOS!  So if you are looking for some fail safe, last minute gifts - definitely check them out!

Everyone loves getting a box of chocolates so of course every occasion is a great excuse to buy some more. I have two boxes here - the first is Hotel chocolat has been put together especially for fathers day and has lovely blue packaging to match. It includes 14 chocolates from shortbread cookies to salted caramel and loads of other really yummy sounding ones!

This second one is a box of nine truffles from Govida. This brand just have such a super luxury feel about them.

I didn't realise LUSH did mens products but apparently they do. D'fluff may be pink but it is in fact a shaving soap and it smells absolutely delicious but anything containing strawberries, cocoa butter and golden syrup would do! 

I also have the Refresher which is another shower gelly - I only got my first one of these recently, remember? This one has a citrus smell with lemon oil and lemon  myrtle and hopefully is just as fun to play with haha.

 Lastly from Lush, is Cosmetic Lad which is a moisturiser made with aloe vera and lavender honey water making it great for use after shaving!

Talking of shaving, a new razor will always go down well, especially because you know it will get used! How about Braun’s new CoolTec dry shaver. Pretty impressive right?

Now on to the Alcohol. My dad doesn't drink wine that often although he seems to collect it for dinner parties and stuff like that. Andrews dad on the other hand enjoys a glass of wine every now and then so maybe I'll give them one each! 

I have a bottle of William Hardy Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2014 which has intense fruit flavours of fresh blackberry and mulberry accompanied by rich black pepper and vanilla spice.

The second is Kumala Colombard Chardonnay which is a white wine with crisp and refreshing flavours which burst with tropical fruit notes and a hint of guava.

My parents recently discovered cocktails on their holiday to Tenerife so I thought they would enjoy this fun at home kit. You get a bottle of Malibu and all the different mixers. Also lots of fun for dinner parties and things like that.

This one isnt alcohol as such but its totally related and a great gift idea for men so it can stay in this section. My family love their drinks ice cold and my dad is no exception! We have grown up drinking bottled water from the fridge because its colder so when I spotted this glass online I knew (if it does exactly what it's meant to do) my dad would love it - perfect for BBQ season coming up!

As usual, I love putting together a gift guide for special occasions. Valentines day is fun as I like to get gifts that we can share as a couple rather than just a new pair of shoes or something for Andrew. I've picked a few things that we will be able to share and a few that are pushed more toward either me or him but hopefully I will be able to give some of you some inspiration for later thist week!

Sweets

Every one loves heart shaped chocolates and sweets on valentines day and Retro Sweet are a great place to get them because they sell all sorts of gift sets which you can personalise with a name and a message. This is one of the smaller gift sets from the site for £15 but they go up to £30, £40 + and arrive in a big wicker hamper which is a lovely idea.

Subscription Boxes
As well as gift box sets, subscription boxes are loads of fun. You sign up and each month you will be sent a box of goodies, each time it's different and you get to try all sorts of new things that you wouldn't have done otherwise! It makes a lovely gift to sign up and pay for them for your other half! Over the past few years, these boxes have become so popular which means loads of new ones have appeared, they have boxes for all sorts of likes and interests. Ok so this is a gift that is definitely just for him. It more a jokey extra to put in with all the other gifts but I'm pretty sure he will be entertained with it. Boys. I got this from Dot Com Gift Shop

The Body Show Strawberry Heart Gift Set
The Body Shop always have a great range of gift sets for every occasion but this one is perfect because it's red and love heart shaped! It's actually called The Sweetheart Gift Set and it contains a shower gel, body butter, lip butter and an Eau de Toilette all in their strawberry flavour. I'd definitely appreciate this more than Andrew would so this is one of the girls. Andrew actually bought me a heart shaped Body Shop gift set when they released their chocolate scent! And if your single, this is a lovely set to pamper yourself with!

Lola & Grace Jewellery
I don't really wear jewellery but if I do, it will usually be from Lola & grace, I really like the idea of them being Swarvoski's younger sister as they are part of the same group. They are a fun, young and affordable brand and it's so easy to pop in, spend £20 and leave with something really nice which makes it a lovey treat for yourself or a great gift for/from someone else. I love that they do each style in a range of pretty, bright colours. This blue reel pendant comes in a few colours and is in the sale at £8 down from £17. The big jewel and chunky chair of this Solitaire Necklace also really caught my eye and is also under £20 at just £14.50.

 Funkin Cocktail Sets

This is the perfect gift set for us to share as a couple, we love going out for cocktails so I know we would enjoy having a night in with some! The best thing about these kits is that they come with everything you need, including the alcohol which means you don't been to go out and find it as well! Belinis are our favoruite drinks but I just couldn't resist the pina colada set! I love the cute little coconut cups that came with it!

Chocolate Red Wine

Same story here, think romantic night in with a bottle of wine. Except it's Rosso Nobile Red Wine with a chocolate fusion. I couldn't think of anything better!

Cookie cutters

Valentines day is a nice time for some themed baking so these will definitely come in handy for making some cute heart cookies! Hopefully I will have time to bake some today!! These also came from Dot Com Gift Shop

Gift Cards

Boys are hard to buy for and gift cards usually work well for Andrew, although he has been known to completely forget about them and find them at the bottom of a gift bag 6 months later, boys just don't get excited by new clothes like girls too. Which is why I though it'd be nice to move away from a traditional clothing gift card and think about the other things he likes!

Andrew has recently started a new job and he gets coffee every morning. I think he really enjoys telling me how the baristas have remembered his order and messaging me 'BRB getting coffee' so a Costa giftcard would be perfect for him! I might cover it in girly stickers before I give it to him so he can think of me when he gets his morning coffee every day next week!

Shirt

As I said earlier, Andrew has a new job and it's the first one that has required him to wear a suit. Shirts are now a lovely gifts to buy him for work as I know it'll get used and it's nice to pick one out together! This one came from Guide London and is £60, I love the black and white details.

LUSH

Lush have released their new valentines day range and as usual there are a few new products as well as the old classics. Valentines bath products are a great idea for couples on valentines day, it's lovely to have a themed bath before you get ready for a nice meal or to share a bath after a dinner for a romantic night in!

The big product release of this year, The Unicorn Horn. This is a pastel rainbow bubble bar that smells like lavender, very relaxing. The colours are so pretty and it has a silver shimmer on top as well as little candy hearts dotted around! It's £3.25 but bubble bars are worth their money as they can be used a few times!

 Lonely Hearts is a bubble bar and Heart throb is a bubbleroon which I think it just the same as a bubble bar (it does look like a giant red heart shaped macaroon with a gold glitter filling.) Both of these will turn your bath red with gold glitter to  make your water sparkle. These are great for the girls as I don't think Andrew (or many guys) would appreciate being covered on gold glitter.

 I also have the Cupid Love soap which has hearts running through it. It smells very rich and fruity and I have just found out that it contains passionfruit which his one of my favourites!

Slowly I will get around to posting a review of each one separately!
