The guys at Rental Cars have put together this fun quiz about different food around the world and to go with it, they have asked me about my favourite dishes from around the world are.

Paella
I know this one isnt too exciting but I love paella. Like I really love it to the point of eating it at any opportunity I get. Seafood is my favourite but I dont mind a bit of chicken here and there because honestly it's all about the rice for me. While we were in Mallorca this summer, we found a lovely fish restaurant near the beach in Magaluf and that's where this one came from. I managed to get Andrew to share a paella with me on 3 out of our 5 nights but this was definitely the best of the three. Just look at  those big juicy prawns!

Mango & Sticky Rice
Next up and one of my favourite food discoveries is mango and sticky rice which I  tried whilst in Thailand last summer. We heard alot about it at the start of our trip but I wasn't too keen to try it until we ended up on a boat with nothing to eat but fruit (and these weird little balls of rice) and that was just not cutting it with me - when I am hungry, I need something with a bit of substance. It must have been fate because after trying it in desperation (the two dishes to the left of the photo) it became my favourite dish of the trip and I sought it out everywhere we ate afterwards. I even attempted to make my own when we got home and it didn't taste bad although the mangoes here are nothing compared to the amazing fresh ones in Thailand.

Pizza in Italy 
We was in Naples for the afternoon and of course with pizza all around us, we were tempted. I thought this was going to taste the same as it does at home, a pizzas a pizza right?! Actually for €4 for a whole pizza, I thought it was going to be a bit crappy but we were hungry so we ordered a few. It had a thin base and was just plain cheese and tomato but it was the best pizza I have ever eaten and everyone (all 10 of us) agreed and promptly ordered ourselves one each. Who'd have thought I'd actually be able to find a photo of that actual pizza from over two years ago?! Doesn't look very impressive does it?

Shwarma 
I'd grown up hearing my parents go on and on about these things but it wasn't until I finally got to visit Israel that I got to try one for myself and all of a sudden I understood exactly what thay had been talking about. It looks pretty much like a doner kebab but it us so much more than that. They were sold along the beach in nice little shops (not the usual dirty kebab place) and they usually come covered in tahini. OMGSOGOOD

FRAGRANCE: DKNY - Be Desired Perfume

I grew up with Be Delicious by DKNY. My mum was totally obsessed and it became a bit of a saturday night scent in my house. It reminds me of evenings sitting in her room and helping her pick what jewellery to wear while she got ready to go out for dinner with my dad or friends.
 
Be Delicious was released in 2004 (over 10 years ago!!) and on the 14th October 2015 DNKY release their new addition to the collection - BE DESIRED.

"With a sparkle of orange oil combined with tart blackcurrant and dewy violet leaves. Iced grapefruit teases the senses with a vivacious energy. Exotic elements bring a succulent texture to the bouquet of jasmine sambac and turkish rose. Precious woody notes of cedarwood and vibrant amber wood"
Again in their iconic apple bottle and again very fruity. It still smells very fresh and green like the original but just a bit different, a bit updated I guess - the grapefruit seems to come through quite strongly which is lovely. I've been wearing it everyday and I just love the freshness of it.

LIFESTYLE: Homeware Wishlist

The guys at Homify asked me to put together a homewear wishlist so thats what I'm doing today. I'm totally into rose gold and copper tones at the moment - they just make everything looks so warm but classy at the same times.
Candle - Kate Spade
I love the bold stripes of this and of course the gold details and the words across the front
 
Light Up G - Urban Outfitters
Seriously guys, who doesnt want one of these. I would actually really love a mini one that I could keep on my desk or soemthing
 
So shiny! If only it was just a little bit more rose tinted.

 Rose Water Bowl - Kate Spade
More Kate Spade I know but after my little shopping stint on holiday - I am obcessed with everything Kate Spade. I'm pretty sure it will be my actual first point of call when it really does come down to buying stuff for a home. How cute.

Glass Box - H&M
This comes in a few colours but I just thought it was so pretty! It'd be perfect on a dressing table full of jewellery or make up or just all the little bits and pieces that dont have a home.

Terranium - JoY
These things are just so pretty and have a relaxing zen garden feel. Also, I love succulents and picked up 5 from the wedding last month so this would be the perfect little home for them!

and of course I want white walls through the house and light carpets upstairs. As for downstairs, I would keep it all to natural looking wood flooring because I grew up with white wood bedroom floorboards and I never want to do that again, it was cold in the mornings and I hated it. Now, I love having carpet upstairs, it makes going to be more warm and cosy whereas downstairs is you come in through the front door in your shoes and where Molly comes through the back door covered in mud so no carpet downstairs! Although that could means it gets a bit colder downstairs so of course I would need to get a little heater to keep it warm so I can spend my evenings snuggled up with a blanket in from of the TV.

5 Things In September

Caroline & Tim's Wedding

Remember I went to Andrew's sister hen party in August? Well September brought their wedding!

 The couple met while at Oxford Uni so thats where they decided to get married, and I don't blame them - I seriously had no idea how beautiful Oxford was until we loaded up the car and drove down there for the weekend! It was so exciting - like going on a mini road trip.
After we arrived and settled into our rooms, we went off the for wedding rehersal and then all had a meal at Cafe Rouge together before going back to bed ready for the big day.

I spent the morning getting ready with the girls and of course this meant I was one of the first to see Caroline ready in her dress and she looked so lovely in her beautiful strapless dress with pretty lace and bead detailed overlay.

The whole weekend was lovely right from beginning to end and I was so happy to be a part of it!

 P.S How cute is the card I got them!

Joes Southern Dessert

I was having a pretty shitty day on Tuesday. I was at the pharmacy during my lunch break trying to get someone to see me and desperatly calling for an emergency doctors  appointment for when I got home from work.

Obvs I was looking through twitter while I was in the que, trying to take my mind off of it and I somehow got into a conversation with Joes Southern - A resturant in Covent Garden. Anyway, it ended with them delivering me an Oreo ice cream crush dessert to my desk later that day. It was pretty delicious and totally took my mind off of my problems - Such a kind thing to do so a huge thanks to them!
Turns out at the age of 22, I have a few big black varicose veins on my leg and I am stressing out about it. Apparently they are more common when you are pregnant, older or standing up all day so that just made me even more worried about why I have them in the first place. They are really unsightly and I am desperate for them to dissapear. So of course I've already started doing some research on varicose vein removal methods. I definitely want a second opinion of whether thats what they really are and how I should go about fixing it before I do anything. I'm not too worried at the moment but I know when summer comes rolling back around I am going to be stressing. As much as I am hoping, ignoring them is not going to get rid of them so hopfully I can sort another trip to the doctors and see someone more helpful who might be able to put me in the right direction rather than saying "They're Varicose Veins" then pushing me out of the door becuase it was nearly 7pm. 

Starbucks PSL

 Ok guys, let me brake it to you slowly, before last week, I had never tried a Pumpkin Spiced Latte. It just sounded too spicy for me but when Starbs got in touch and offered to send me some for my office crew and I (lol), a day before they launched into stores, I thought I might as well give it a try and it wasnt that bad! Actually - it wasnt bad at all, I'm not a big coffee drinker but I quite liked it as it wasnt too much coffee and had a really nice flavour. Also, how pretty are the new cups?! I just want to buy a pack of felt tips and colour it in.

Anniversary Part 1 & 2
September marked Andrew and I's six year anniversary and similarly to my birthday, I like to drag the celebrations out for as long as I can.

On the actual day, Andrew booked a surprise restaurant for us which happened to be just down the road from work! As huge Gaucho fans, we had been talking about a trip to STK for months, years even but we never really got around to it so it was a great idea for our anniversary meal.

 We had read alot of bad reviews but both of us really enjoyed everything we ate! There was a great choice of starters and some really delicious sides to go with our steaks. It was so good that I couldnt even manage a dessert, and thats saying something!
Last weekend we had booked a hotel with a voucher from Christmas so we both took a half day and enjoyed our afternoon stuffing our faces and messing around in the hotel spa and jacuzzi. Not for too long though as we had to get ready for another surprise restaurant that Andrew had picked for that evening.

 He is getting really good at the surprise thing becuase he picked a place called Kenza for that evening. It is a morrocan underground restaurant in liverpool street and it was totally different to anything we had ever eaten together. The tables we all in little coves lit with candles. After a delicious meal, they turned up the music ready for the belly dancing. Such a fun evening!

My Face On Soap & Glory

This made me so happy haha. During the week, I popped into the Boots press day, at The ME Hotel (Same place as STK) for a little look around. It was full of all the christmas gift sets and the Soap & Glory stand were printing out our photos on their Clean On Me bottles - there was no way I was leaving without one of those!

GIVEAWAY: Popchips Mature Cheddar and Onion

Sitting at my desk munching my way through a bag of crisps after lunch is not something I do often but definitely something I crave every now and then! I love crisps but for me they really are a guilty pleasure and I try not to eat them too often compared to my brothers who get through a 6 pack each per week.
Today I needed a bag of crisps. But this time, they arent so guilty as they are a bag of Popchips new Mature Cheddar and Onion flavour. I actually love Popchips (especially their sour cream and onion and salt and vinegar flavours) for their crunch and texture but the fact that they are only 95 calories and less than half the fat definitely helps!
