The FRONTLINE Plus House

To launch their new product, FRONTLINE® Plus (a double action flea product which also treats for ticks) a few weeks ago, they invited Steph & Dom from Gogglebox and Gigi, their cute little miniature Dachshund, alongside TV vet Dr. Scott Miller, to the FRONTLINE Plus House in the middle of Victoria station. Whilst I wasn't able to make this one, the house is going up and down the country for a three month roadshow and I did manage to go along to All About Dogs this weekend with Andrew to give them a visit! 
I was pretty excited, I'm not gonna lie. There were dogs everywhere and I spent most of the afternoon sat on the floor stroking them whilst Andrew stood awkwardly waiting for me!
Once I got that out of my system we concentrated on what we were there for! Inside the house we learned loads about fleas, ticks and how the new product helps! Double action FRONTLINE Plus not only kills fleas and ticks on the pet, but it also contains an active ingredient that stops flea eggs from hatching in the home which is where 95% of the problem is! I leaned that on my fact hunt around the house!

Check Your Pet: Babesiosis

So hopefully you guys saw my last blog post with MERIAL (if not, it’s here) but I wanted to follow it up with another one on something that is very real in my area at the moment! This one is really quite a big scary issue and I wanted to let all you other Essex dog owners know about it and keep an eye out for yourselves.

The press release states: A fatal dog disease, carried by ticks, called canine babesiosis, has been reported in the UK, particularly Essex. Great. My mum has been telling me that there is something going around but we weren't sure what until now.
Canine babesiosis is similar to malaria and can be fatal to dogs. This disease is not new to the UK although all previous cases seen were in dogs that had recently travelled abroad. These new cases are significant because none of the dogs had travelled outside the UK, which is not good news at all!

The ticks might only be the size of a sesame seed (until they feed! They can swell to the size of a coffee bean afterwards) but they can be a big problem!

Ticks can be found everywhere, not just the obvious high risk places such as forests but also in playgrounds, parks and even your garden. That being said, it’s super important to take action to protect your pet. That’s where using FRONTLINE® Spot On monthly comes in. It kills ticks within 48 hours, minimising the risk of tick-borne disease transmission, this is what my dad has said we will do for Molly.
Remember to check your pets (and yourself) for ticks after walks or even having simply been outside, paying particular attention to areas where your pet's hair is thinner such as their head, around the ears and their tummy. Ticks should drop off naturally once they’re dead, but if they don’t, you can safely remove them using a tick hook. If you are unsure how to do it, it is recommended you contact your vet.

Parasite Party with MERIAL

MERIAL got in touch with me recently to see if I'd heard about their new ‘Parasite Party’ campaign. As a dog owner, obviously I was very interested to hear what they had to say and I've decided to post what I've seen for all you other dog owners! Firstly, this little video they sent me to raise the awareness of the risks parasites pose to pets:
And it certainly did its job - I knew dogs could get ticks and fleas but seriously, seeing all the different internal worms that can harm dogs really scared me. I didn't know things like that happened.

They also sent me a one minute checklist (link) to see what kind of risk Molly might be exposed to and what should I know about it. For example, It pointed out that, since we live in the forest and take her out there every day, she could be prone to ticks as they live in vegetation and attach to dogs on their walks.

My dad deals with all of this stuff for Molly but I do know he takes her to get wormed regularly which is really important for her and for us too - some worms can affect people if they get into our bodies which is not ideal!

 Molly is the center of our family and I'm sure a lot of other dogs are to theirs so be sure to help keep your pet healthy with visits to the vets who can help you out with expert advice if you're ever worried!

LIFESTYLE: 5 Things in July

I have been loving all these 5 happy things type post I have been seeing around lately so I thought I'd give it ago. I dont want to overload you with stuff so I am thinking it's just going to be a monthly post of all the photos that go on Facebook of more personal, not totally bloggy things. So today marks my first one and hopefully I can keep it going! 
In case you hadn't already noticed, I went on holiday in July - You can check out my posts here, here, here and here. We had the best time and I am hoping we get a chance to go back for a few days even if its next summer. We will definitely be staying at ME Mallorca again -it was incredible.
 Sheesh is our favorite restaurant and although its super popular and not the cheapest, we would usually go at least once every two weeks. The building itself is amazing and the food is better as well as the great service we get every single time! Since summer started, we have been super busy to when we finally had a free Saturday night last week we made a beeline back!
The 25th marked our first friends wedding plus Andrew was the best man! I have a whole post to come on that so you'll hear more about it there!

I was lucky enough to win tickets to Lovebox so on the Friday after work, Andrew and I popped down for a little bit before going out for dinner! We arent massive festival goers but it was 20 minutes from his so we thought why not?!
The 29th was Molly's birthday - She was 3. As always we got her a card and lots of presents to open - she gets super excited with all of her new toys! There are only 3 in the photo but we got her so many new toys she didnt know what to play with first!

LIFESTYLE: Looking After Your Pet With FRONTLINE

Walking Molly is one of those things in our house - when I'm at home, in bed, I hate being asked to walk her and so does everyone else but when I'm up and ready I quite like taking her out for a walk in the fields. I dont really like living in the middle of no where (Epping Forest) but it is perfect for walking Molly.

When I started working in March, I kinda missed spending the time with her because I was never at home when she needed walking. I still manage to squeeze in a walk every now and then when the sun is still out and I am feeling particularly energetic when I get home from work.
FRONTLINE® Spot On, has launched a new campaign for the summer with Ruth Langsford (from  Loose Women and This Morning) highlighting the close bond between pet owners and animals and how pets and owners can ‘enjoy the good times’. Together they have created a series of videos giving pet owners helpful tips, I found this one particularly interesting.

MORE TH>N got in touch to tell me about their pet insurance plan which as well as helping protect your furry friends, it also helps the RSPCA protect less fortunate animals throughout the country, because for each policy sold, £20 will be donated to the RSPCA for the care of unwanted and neglected animals in England and Wales! What a lovely idea!

They asked for me a pet #PawHumour story but I couldn't think of any so this post was basically just an excuse to post some cute photos of Molly!

Last week, my parents went to Greece and left me in charge of the house and my brothers. Molly had to go on holiday too, to the dog sitters, because there wasn’t going to be anyone at home during the day so I haven’t seen her all week and I've missed her loads. My brothers spend all day and all night in their room and luckily, I've been out every night but it's still been pretty lonely for the hour or two that I've been at home, each night before bed. I have missed her company and I have actually had to put my socks in the washing basket each day rather than letting her play with them!

FASHION: Havaianas #SambaInTheRain

Everyone knows Havaianas for their flip flops and the summer but did you know that they did wellies as well? Perfect for this time of year especially for me as I was the one who had to take Molly for a walk this morning since everyone else was out. We walk Molly in the field next door which is now just mud so obviously it was the perfect time to get my new Wellies out! I am so lazy - I just threw them on, with my Onepiece onesie and a coat haha.
They are running a new campaign to get people out enjoying the winter instead of staying in! Basically you upload a photo on Instagram of you embracing winter in the most Havaianas way tagging #sambaintherain for a chance to win a pair of Havaianas rain boots for yourself!

LIFESTYLE: Share A Smile

A couple weeks ago, Oasis Dental Care contacted me about their Share A Smile campaign - The idea is to get everyone thinking about others and making them smile, which is a lovely idea! They gave me some money and left it up to me to make someone smile anyway I fancied - and of course I knew exactly who I would like to do something nice for, I just had to think of something!

Andrew is my boyfriend of 5 years (As I'm sure you all know by now) and he is the best! He treats me so well and is always looking for places to go out and lovely things for us to do together and all sorts of little treats! So I wanted to treat him to something nice. I know he has been after a new pair of smart shoes for a while, his last pair are all old and battered and he never spends any money on himself so it was a perfect opportunity for me to get them as a surprise for him. 

Thankfully, he loves them and it looks like Molly did too haha now I just need to plan a nice night for us that he can wear them for!

LIFESTYLE: Halloween Outfits From ASDA

When George At ASDA offered to send Molly and I Halloween outfits I was super excited, I tried very hard to get matching once obvs - I didn't get it quite right but who cares, we can rewrite the story - Little red riding hood and her devil dog! 

The dog outfits were super easy to put on and we didn't have any struggling what so ever - Molly loved her cape but wasn't such a fan of the horns even though she did look super cute! I loved my outfit - super comfortable, not restricting and great for a both a family party and a club one! 

ASDA are always the amazing for the full Halloween package from the food and decorations to the outfits and all the extras - and at £20 for both these outfits, its amazing value for money!

LIFESTYLE: Mollys New Toys

Molly loves her toys! She is such an active and playful dog so I was super pleased to be contacted by Rakuten's Play.com who offered to send her some new ones! Cheeky, she's lucky I let her have them now - it's her birthday soon - Next month, she's going to be 2, which means even more new toys! My mum goes crazy and buys her at least 10-15 each time!! 
Her favourite of these 4 seems to be the chicken, I caught her fast asleep on the floor the other day with her arms wrapped around it, so cute!! But she changes her mind, the pig has been a solid favourite for months now, we had to buy them in bulk as she kept breaking them and then she was sad when they didn't oink haha.

FASHION: Throwbacks with New Look

A few weeks ago, New Look contacted me to find out about my favourite dress, one that I would never, ever though away. In fact, I actually love this dress so much that I have three identical ones plus a white version because I was so worried about if something happened to it and I wouldn't be able to wear it anymore. I realise that sounds a bit crazy but I just over think things haha what if the washing machine ripped it up or it went off to the ironing and never came back? I'd be devastated, I love it that much! I just love the bright colours and the geometric cut out shape. It also fits me really well and since I have one good hip and one bad, it really accentuates that shape of my curvy one haha. It's a great length for me and with such a big cut out, it means that I don't get overheated like I usually do with a dress in a club!

and as its with New Look they have asked me which one of their dresses fits the criteria to be my new throwback dress! I'm actually loving this dress from New Look. The print is so cute and so summery, I'd be happy to wear it all summer, then throw it to the back of my wardrobe for the winter and get it back out again next year!

LIFESTYLE: Selfies With Molly

I was contacted by Animal Friends to take part in their latest competition - basically taking a selfie with your pet, how could I turn that down, Molly would never forgive me - she loves the camera! Actually she loves the SLR, she's scared of my phone haha she must know how bad the quality is but I took this cheeky one for the competition, one evening last week while we were snuggling on the sofa watching TV together.

I think she knows I'm not 100% at the moment because she has been giving me loads of attention and sitting with me all day. I think she knows what ill smells like haha lovely.

P.s Ohh myy goossshhh. I just did a quick search for my baby photos of her, how cute was she?!

OOTD: Matching Aztec Pastels

I've been wanting to get myself a matching set of somthing for months now and then all of a sudden I get two on the same day. woo.

This set, my mum bought for me as part of a present for doing well in my exams. She got it a few weeks ago when we went to Basildon, shopping with my grandparents. We don't go there that often because it's a bit of a trek but my grandparents love it there so we just tagged along. They have a primark, a topshop and a river island so its all good.

This outfit, on the other hand, was quite a different buy for us. You know those cheap shops that knowbody ever really looks in because they all sell kinda the same cheap stuff? Well we looked and found loads of these amazing matching sets. We bought this set in the first of these shops but after a little wander around the centre I realised that there were hundreds of these shops all selling the same thing in different patterns. It was so exciting!

I love the aztec print of this set, the pastel colours, and the midi/crop shape. As well as this set from my mum, my grandparents got me a shorts and crop set in black, white and pink which I'll show you in a few weeks. They are both going to be amazing for my holiday in a few weeks as we are going on a cruise, so this one especially will be great for dressing up in the evening.

I paired the set with my favoutie new shoes from Spy Love Buy. They are so cute, they are my first pair of black sandal heels and I love them. You all know I'm a huge fan of the brand and if you like them too,Click here to enter my giveaway hosted by them!
