Considering canada
Thursday 25 July 2019
With my stint in New Zealand done and now my Australian working holiday visa over too, I'm back home in the UK, plotting my next move! I'm not sure what I want to do next, whether that's go back to Asia, (I never managed to get to Cambodia) settle down back in London or another working holiday - this time in Canada.
It seems like it was the next step for alot of people I met along the way and I wont lie, I have caught myself looking at flights to Montreal and flights to all the major cities in Canada a couple of times since I got home, I am intrigued to say the least.
Like before I got to New Zealand, I don't actually know all that much about Canada or life there, but I have only heard good things from everyone who has been so I've decided to do some research and put together a list or potential reasons that it could be a good idea!
Ease of Visa
Applying for the Canadian working holiday visa (also referred to as the IEC – International Experience Canada visa) seems pretty simple! They take UK applications and I'm in the right age bracket so I don't think it'd be too hard to arrange, now that I am the working holiday visa expert.
Friends
I say friends, but I mean one person in particular; Selena. She is the one who enabled my travels and gave me the confidence to go in the first place - and she lives in Canada so I'd love to go and visit her. Shes had a baby girl since I last saw her too!
Poutine
Self explanatory. From what I've heard, the food in Canada is awesome!
Family
I do actually have family in Canada as well.
Tourist Opportunities
I'd love to visit the big cities, see a grizzly bear, Niagara Falls and experience the Northern lights. There's a whole list of things I'd love to see and do in Canada.
So definitely some food for thought there!
