LIFESTYLE: DKNY Be Electric Eau de Toilette Collection

Wednesday, 9 March 2016

By now I'm sure you have all realised that I am quite a fan of the DNKY Be Delicious range all the way from the beginning! I think I've probably had at least one of each fragrance they've release which is more than can be said for me mum - she bought a couple of the the original red and green ones every single year for around 5 years!

I was very excited to hear there are three new ones of the horizon which are launching this month! The Be Electric Range but get it quick becuase its a limited edition range. Of course, again they are the iconic apple bottles but this time all three are crazy, fluorescent colours. Loving Glow which is hot pink, Citrus Pulse which is the orange one and Bright Crush which is the lime green one. These spring releases are inspired by a city that never sleeps and the optimism of exciting new beginnings.
Lets start with the green one because it is my favourite of the three! I think I like it so much because it is a really familiar scent and reminds me of my favoruite summer back when I was 15. I can't work it out for sure but I'm thinking it was my friend who wore something similar. It's funny how a smell can take you right back isn't it. It's super fresh and very light and summery. I'll definitely be wearing this one alot when it starts to get a bit warmer.

The pink has a much older smell and a more classic scent. Its not unpleasant but it's not really my style. I think it must be the vanilla and musk in it that I don't like because the grape and pineapple in the description sound right up my street.

As for the orange one, it is very fruity and also something I would wear during the summer, this one is much more summer holiday though. Again, like the green one, it takes me back to past summers because it smells just like a sex on the beach cocktail which I quite like. It has a fruitieness like the orange juice and a sweetness like the grenadine in the drink. Interesting my first thoughts weren't far off because it contains nectarine, mandarin and passionfruit. Delicious!

LIFESTYLE: Deliciously Ella X method + GIVEAWAY

Monday, 7 March 2016

Pomegranates are something I don't really have much to do with. I've always wanted to try one but I never really knew what to do with one haha. You're meant to eat the seeds right? They are known to be the most powerful anti-oxidant of all fruits along with a whole load of other health benefits which probably explains whay I have been coming across more and more pomegranate products recently, last week it was face cream and today its method cleaning products.

method is a planet friendly company who create cleaning products, formulated with naturally derived, biodegradable ingredients. This February, they collaborated with the UK's leading food blogger, Deliciously Ella who created three recipes inspired by ingredients in the method range, pomegranate being one of those of course along with almonds and clementines.

So what did she come up with? Firstly a warming almond soup - that is my kinda lunch, I love a soup! Also a colourful, healthy pomegranate and buckwheat salad which just looks so pretty, fun bright colours in food is a must! Lastly, for dessert, she came up with a cool, refreshing clementine sorbet. Sounds like a lovely summery menu to me! You can check out her recipes here. I will definitely be giving the sorbet a go when it starts to get warmer!
Want to win for products from the range? method have kindly given me a bundle of products to giveaway here on my blog! Enter below as usual!

LIFESTYLE: My Weekend Away Essentials

Friday, 4 March 2016

Today, Europapharmacy asked me what my weekend away essentials are so I thought I would do a little bit of a product post, something a little bit different here on Georgina Does. So you already know that every few months, Andrew and I are off on a little overnight trip into London for one occasion or another and last week we had our late Valentines Day trip. It was really lovely and we stayed in the most amazing room but I have a few other posts to come for that! Of course I took along all the essentials, toothbrush, contact lenses ect but I thought I would talk you guys through five new products that I have acquired recently and brought along. As you'll learn, I love anything mini when I'm travelling.
The first in the photo is the Happy Buddah foaming shower gel from Rituals. This is the strangest product - as the name suggests, as soon as the gel touches your skin, it starts to form a soft, dense foam and this particular one has the nicest, orange, citrus smell. I first discovered it at Andrews house - his mum buys all the nice bath stuff but once it ran out, I had to go and get my own because I loved it so much. I wonder if they do a travel sized one.

Next in line is my new Sure compressed deodorant. These smaller, compressed cans are a much better size to pack for a weekend away as well as being much better for the environment. I have been loving this new bright boutique scent as it's super floral and fruity which makes a nice change for a deodorant as well as keeping me feeling fresh all day. It also contains Motion sense technology, which means that the more you move, the more it protects. Clever stuff!

Micellar water is a relatively new product to me. I have a big one at home but decided to pick up a mini in Boots because I needed one to leave at Andrews house for the weekends too. Again, this one is the perfect size to take away with me! In the past I had just taken a small pack of wipes with me but with Micellar water my skin actually feels good after I use it, that is definitely not a feeling I get with wipes.

Forth is a product that I am totally new to but they seem to have found their way into my day to day essentials so of course, I brought them along. I was introduced to the brand when they invited me to an awesome event a couple of weeks ago. It finished up with me riding a motor bike though London during rush hour but before all of that madness we had a masterclass with Lisa Eldridge to show us how to work eye drops into our daily routine. I was given all four of the products but am loving the Bright & Moist one for keeping my eyes moisturied and refreshed. I actually used them this morning as I have been absolutely exhausted this week - I love how they instantly make me look much brighter and awake!

And lastly is a new body spray! I do love a body spray and usually for me as a Victoria's Secret one - Love Spell is my favourite but for travelling, I love these Body Fantasies ones, they are the perfect size! I have a couple of scents but the one I took with last weekend is the pink grapefruit one because as I mentioned before I love citrusy smells!

Biscuiteers For Mothers Day
Biscuiteers biscuits are some of my favourite things to receive as a gift and knowing full well that I get my ridiculous sweet tooth from my mum, (she actually eats more crap than I do) I'm pretty sure they would be a great little extra gift for her for Mothers day later this week!

I picked the super woman themed box because she is a super mum (and they're chocolate biscuits mm) but there are all sorts to choose from make up shaped biscuits (I bought her the real thing instead since I heard she was running out of her MAC gel liner) to a box of butterflies, flowers or even tea cups - all super cute but I liked the super woman set for its brighter colours as alot of them are pastel.

As soon as I saw this fab card I knew she would love it so I picked it up in Paperchase earlier this week. I bought her a doughnut one for her birthday and she loves fabs so it was perfect!

Costa Crumpets
This week I popped into Costa on the way to the station and picked up some crumpets. Did you guys know that they did crumpets?! News to me but they were delicious. I havent had them in years so I took advantage and completely smothered with butter and then jam. I started off eating them in the shop but I was going to be late for work so the Costa girls gave me a takeaway bag and I hopped on the tube to work and finished them off there. What a great start to the day!

Work Anniversary
Today, the 2nd of March to be exact, marks my one year anniversary working at Zenith. Actually it marks my one year anniversary working all together. This time last year I was at breaking point, I had been unemployed for 16 months and it was really affecting me, I didn't go to uni and I was feeling so hopeless. But then all of a sudden this job came out of nowhere (literally I didn't even apply for it) and changed my life. I can't believe it was a whole year ago. In that time, I've definitely gotten better at mornings, I now know how to do keyword research, I experienced my first work Christmas party and I think I've got a bit more confident as a person which is a great bonus!

New Business Cards
I finally got a new batch of business cards this week! The look very similar to my old ones except they are much thicker and have the right twitter and instagram handles on them now. Pllus they also have my pink and white stripes on the back!

I got them from Aura Print and one thing I liked about working with them was that I had contact with one of the guys through the whole process of designing and making them. He was very confused about what I wanted (all I asked for was the same stripes as my blog background at the time) but replied to each of my emails straight away so we managed to get exactly what I wanted sorted in about 15 emails over one afternoon! By the end of the afternoon, I was totally happy with the design, they look exactly how I wanted although when they arrived yesterday, I wasn't 100% convinced with the colour print as it's a more grainy than I was hoping for so that's something to keep in mind.

EVENT: #MatalanMovieClub

Tuesday, 1 March 2016

Hey Guys,

Today is going to be super busy, I've still got half a room to pack up and a whole wall of posters to take down before we move on Thursday so I'm going to leave you with a post I wrote during the week, organised, eh?

Just wanted to tell you about a super fun event I attended on saturday with Matalan. It was odd for me to have a daytime event and on a Saturday as normally I run out to them staight after work for the evening. After a wonderful lay in until about 9 (ahaha yeah thats a long lay in for me!) I got ready and made my way down to Knightsbridge to the  Bulgari Hotel, it was very posh, polished wall and doormen, but what else would you expect from a hotel in Knightsbridge really!

I met Robyn and we arrived together, we both took a glass of champagne and went to mingle with the girls, check out the new collection and eat the most delicious canapés, if you know me well you will know that I am a canapé fiend, I am the girl who is happy to take another one and another one, and another haha there were mini burgers and asparagus wrapped in bacon followed by cute little macaroons and little chocolate hot pots with cream on top mmm I could live on canapés.

After all of that we made our way to the hotel's very own cinema to watch Midnight in Paris which was lovely, we all took a bag of popcorn, a glass of champagne and made ourself comfy. The film was very different style for me but I enjoyed it! I thought it was a really nice idea for an event!

When the event finished the girls and I made our way to the station to leave but got so engrossed in converstation we stood outside the station talking for a good half hour before deciding to relocate to Starbucks to finish off our day with a coffee, or in my case a frappochino!

Overall it was a great day and I really enjoyed myself, Thankyou to Matalan for making it happen and all the girls for making it extra fun!
