OOTD: Tartan Midi and Cut Out Boots

Monday 30 September 2013

 Hey guys

I was so excited when my New Look package arrived the other day I just wanted to put it all on straight away but sadly I'd just got home from work and it was dark so, this weekend, Andrew came round to take some photos for me. As well as that, he helped me finally buy my domain! Apparently I did it wrong, but I've tried again, it was so stressful, even the though of loosing my blog started up a lovely panic attack!

When I ordered these two pieces I knew they'd go together perfectly and I was right! I love the combination. The A/W trends this year are so my kind of thing and New Look have it covered, as always! Now I'm looking for a tartan crop top! Obviously...

I mentioned I was worried about wearing midi's in my last post and I'll have you all know, I took these photos before I'd eaten anything so I was fine haha. As you can see, my mum arrived home half way through our little shoot with the food shopping so we finished up and went for lunch (and got super bloated).

I got so much done that day! I love achieving things over the weeked!

UPDATE: New Domain

Sunday 29 September 2013

Hey guys!

Just posting quickly today while I have the wifi back for a precious few minutes. It's down and apparently won't be back to normal until tuesday so until then, I'm going to have a pretty hard time posting. Ill be lucky if anyone even sees this haha. I've got lots lined up for next week so lots of things to blog about!

This post was really just to let you know that yesterday I bought myself a domain name. Obviously I would have liked to keep the same sort of thing but my name is very in demand what with mrs shoe designer having the exact same one!

I opted for www.georginadoes.co.uk - not too fashion, not too lifestyle, it's my blog and I will post whatever I fancy! What do you think of it?

Looking forward to getting back online and starting to post as Georgina Does!

HAUL: New Look

Thursday 26 September 2013

So you know that New Look voucher that I mentioned I spent earlier this week? My package arrived this morning! It's too dark to take any good photos so I'm going to show you what I got in wishlist form!

Firstly the boots, they're the Jeffery Campbell Coltrane dupes and I've been searching everywhere for them, it even got so bad that I considered buying the real ones which is crazy because I know I won't wear them evveerryyy day.. Just a lot of them haha so as soon as I saw them online I ran to the computer to order! They're heavy duty and sturdy but I can't say too much about them right now because they've literally just arrived! They have some annoying sticky stuff on one of the buckles but its coming off slowly.

They cost £30 leaving me with £20 which I stretched to get myself another three items.

Tartan is huge so I wanted to get myself some, I wanted trousers but didn't see any so I ended up with a midi which is pretty cute, I'm a bit weary of midi's as they make me feel really fat and self conscious when I get bloated (which is every time I eat, I have IBS) so it'll be OK for a morning shopping trip or something like that and hopefully my stomach will calm down soon.

Next I got what I thought was a crop top but the label says lingerie. I'm still going to wear it as a crop top as I'm loving cami's at the moment and it has a super pretty pixel rose print on it!

That left me with a grand total of £3, just enough to get some cute patterned socks to wear with my new cut out boots.

Have you got your eye on anything from New Look?

LIFE: London Fashion Week & #NLFASHWEEK

Wednesday 25 September 2013

Hey Guys!
As you may know last Friday I traveled down to Somerset house to visit London Fashion Week for the first time ever. I know I'm posting this up a little late but there's a reason for that! I was so excited with being there for the first time that I forgot to take any useful photos so I'm using waiting for everyone elses - crediting of course.

I was kindly gifted an outfit to wear for the day from Motel Rocks, one of my absolute go to brands. I wanted to make a statement so I chose this paisley two-piece. I love my Motel's patterns, they are always very stand out.I love a good old black and white combo and obviously I love crop tops so this was my perfect choice.

I was a little worried about wearing an off the shoulder piece as I'm not a fan of strapless bras but I wore a bandaue over my bra and that gave me all the extras support I needed. The trousers were super soft and just like tracksuit bottoms so not only did it look great but the whole outfit was super comfortable. I finished it off with a pair of boots from Missguided and one of my brothers old school belts.

I was invited down to the New Look refuel room which was just across the road from Somerset house where I spent most of the day and made lots of new blogger friends! It was perfect to relax when I was a little bit overwhelmed haha. They literally had everything, a smoothie bar & food, all kinds of beauty treatments, sofas, a DJ and a photo booth of course. They also had the new collection out for us to have a look at which was great! We were given a £50 voucher when we left which I spent yesterday so watch out for a haul!

We soon made our way down to visit Somerset house and had a look around. It was my first time and  quite surreal, one person stopped to take a photo of me and then all of a sudden I was surrounded by photographers, I felt like a celebrity. Apparently one of them was from Vouge Ukraine.

Thanks to New Look and the girls for making my day fab!

LIFE: Bingo, Clubbing & LFWEnd

Saturday 21 September 2013

Hi Guys

I know I said I wouldn't have time to post until next week but I seem to have an hour spare and as much as I'm falling asleep I thought I'd take it to write a post for you! I just wanted to show you all what I've been up to!

After I left work yesterday, I went down to Stratford to meet up with Penny, Ellie and Lorna for a game of bingo at the Gala Bingo's Stratford branch! We were treated to a free game, free dabbers (which we all chose in pink of course) and free food and wine, perfect. I was the only one who had been to bingo properly in the past so I knew exaclty how it goes down, me and Andrew go rather often really, we went before FACES for my 18th ahaha. The staff there were great, they sorted everything out for us and talked the girls though how it worked.

I had to leave early to move on to the next bit of my night and sadly missed the food, but it's OK -  Lorna made sure she sent me a photo so at least I could see what I was missing out on hahah hope you guys enjoyed my nachos!
On to the next part of my night! While I was at work on Thursday I found out that I had won a table full of alcohol at the Jewel St Pauls So after bingo, I met Andrew and a few friends and we headed to St Pauls. We arrived and were taken to our table, I've never had a table before so that was a nice experience, we all felt very classy as we spend most of our nights at cheap uni bars! We got shots, a bottle of nice champagne, a bucket of beers and a huge martini fishbowl thing! We wasn't planning on going out this week so a big thanks to the guys at Jewel for making out Friday night!
Waking up this morning was super hard but as you know, Lavazza kindly gave me tickets for London Fashion Weekend and I wasn't going to miss that! Me and Andrew made our way to Somerset House and had a look around, we actually didn't stay too long as, obviously, I was with Andrew and you can image what that was like haha we had fun in the Canon room and looked around the stalls and obvs had a lovely Lavazza coffee before Andrew got hungry so we wandered down to Covent Garden for lunch.

It's been a busy couple of days and I definatley wont be posting until at least tuesday now as ill be at Olympia!

What have you been up to this weekend?
I'd love to know :)

And lastly, Congrats to Jodie who has won tickets to London Fashion Weekend tomorrow!! Hope you have a lovely time!!

LIFE: 4 Year Anniversary

Tuesday 17 September 2013

Hi guys!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been so buys with getting a new job and working out how to deal with the rest of my life now that I work five days a week but on the plus side I've quit my pub job so at least I have my weekends back, woo. I'm also going to be working at Professional Beauty this weekend so I've been busy preparing!

Is anyone going?

Yesterday was mine and Andrews four year anniversary. It's crazy how fast the time has gone, we got together just after my 16th birthday and now I'm 20!? He is the best boyfriend I could have ever asked for, he looks after me, listens to me and makes me happy. Today he even offered to pick me up from half way into London when the trains stopped. He's not just my boyfriend, he's my best friend!

Anyway I just thought I'd be nice to give it a little mention on the blog. And show you guys a few photos of us though the years.

Soppy post over. Will resume with normal blog stuff ASAP. Hahah

OOTD: Monochrome Shift Dress

Saturday 14 September 2013

Hi Guys
Todays post is another smart outfit I put together for work before I learnt about the smart casual thing. It's the first time I've worn this dress and I think it is a really good thing to have in my wardrobe. As well as looking very smart I think it is quite stylish as well. I will always love monochrome, but not just subtle monochrome like a little ditsy print, I love big statement monochrome where you can see the contrast between the black and white. I also really love the shape of this dress, it's a very loose shift shape and for going out, this really isnt me, but for work or somthing posh it's great and makes a nice change for me.

I am totally not an accessorie person but when I wear black and white, I like to add in one thing in a bright colour, be it shoes, a bag or in this case and neckalce which I havent worn since my year 11 prom. I finished off the outfit with my favourite pair of shoes, but I'm going to have to stop wearing them soon because it's not summer anymore, waa

OOTD: Polka Dot Midi Dress & Pink Filofax

Wednesday 11 September 2013

Hey guys

I know this look is a little smart for my style but that was actually the point! I've got myself an internship woo :D it's a proper internship in a proper office in Liverpool street. I started today and have already learnt tonnes, and seriously can't wait to learn loads more.

Anyway when I found out, I started thinking of some office look ideas and this is one of them. Although it doesn't look like it was worth it as I found out that the dress code is smart casual. Anyway, it was mice to look smart even for a little bit! Andrew told me it looked nice and asked where I got it from, when I told him the dress was Primark, he looked at me in disbelief, he actually complitmented somthing from Primark, he was so ashamed haha, he hates it in there.

I will probably wear the dress with flats if its not to cold but the one thing that will be very useful for my new placement is the Flourescent Pink Filofax I'm holding! Isn't it so amazingly amazing and it's certainly going to brighten up my desk and keep me organised.

I've always wanted a Filofax! Ever since I can remember, my mum always had her little black one and literally lives her life out of it, she writes everything in there and was so jealous when this arrived in the post. I opened it and we fell in love with how bright it was, its also patent which is great for any spilled tea (office stuff you know), and its real leather so it smells amazing and its very strong. I've just got to get myself some diary refills for the rest of this year and I'll be ready to go! I can't wait!

REVIEW: EGOprofessional Straighteners

Sunday 8 September 2013

I straighten my hair a little different to most people. Firstly I use only the straighteners and a brush to brush it all together afterwards. I know maybe I should be using a heat spray but other than that I don't like putting all these different products in my hair.
The second reason why I am different is my technique. I don't have one haha I just keep grabbing chunks of hair until its all straight. It’s just the way I have always done it and the only way I know, I don't have the time or skill for layering, I just want my hair straight as quickly as possible.
If you read my blog you will probably be able to see that I don't really straighten my hair that much any more. When I was younger I wouldn't go out with my natural hair. I would have my blonde fringe dyed all different colours - Green, Blue, Pink and dead straight, but I went on holiday one year and didn't take the straighteners (I have an OCD problem with checking their off and didn't want it to ruin my holiday) but I actually liked how my hair looked naturally, That was over two years ago.
This is the first time I've straightened my hair in forever and although it isn't totally straight -  probably due to my technique - I love how it looks! The straighteners I have used here are EGO professional 1” wide irons (with A brush from The Bristle Brush Company) and I thought they worked very well and they heated up nice and fast.
As you can see that came in a sleek black box and have a great obmré style. The have an easy on/off switch and a temperature dial for changing the heat plus they come with a 1 year warranty.
What do you think of me with straight hair?

OOTD: Jones And Jones Shannon Dress

Saturday 7 September 2013

With the weather so warm on Thursday and knowing it was likely to be our last day of summer, I thought I better get my Jones and Jones dress out, even if it was only for a few pretty photos! I haven't had anywhere to wear this dress to yet, I think it is so cute but now I’m thinking it might have to wait until next summer as it is a very spring/summer colour. Im thinking something like a summer wedding guest outfit is perfect. Jones and Jones are my go to brand for big events like that and I actually have quite a large collection going on now! They don't fit inside my wardrobe so all of them hang on the outside.

You guys might remember that I few months ago I was invited down to their Spitalfield's store to spend some time with the team trying on some of the new season dresses, I got to pick my favourite one and take it home, so here it is.

I love that all of the Jones and Jones dresses have the extra poofieness (Is that even a word?!) to them with the layers in the skirt. If you know me, you'll know that I love that triangle silhouette of a puffy skirt. This dress is very well made and you can feel the good quality material. If you'd like it for yourself, its currently half price in the sale!

Need to work out why some of my photos are blurry :'(

OOTD: Cherry Cobbler & Boyfriend Talk

Tuesday 3 September 2013

So it may be September already but the summer heat it hanging on a little longer for us in London. I wore this outfit the other day to go for lunch with Andrew, which is all we seem to be doing at the moment, it's just a nice way for us to have some quality time together while the sun is still out, I love the little cafes out in the middle of nowhere and he doesn't mind when there arnt too many wasps about - the other day, one decided to take a swimming lesson in his coke - Not Happy haha

He's been ill the last few days - Man Flu, I suspect so I haven't had a chance to see him for four days which is crazy long for us. I alwasy get asked how we can spent so much time together but that's just the kind of couple we are, anyway hopefully he will be better tomorrow for our wagamamas and cinema date night at my favourite place (Westfield, if you didn't know!) It will also give me a chance to have a look in Lola & Grace as I recently won a voucher and want to scout out a pretty necklace to replace my last one (which I'm still wearing in these images)

On to the outfit, how cute is this top?! It was hand made to my measurements by the lovely Adel from Fox Vintage! I've had some lovely bits and pieces from them and if, like me, you like some vintage style but hate the thought of wearing someone elses old clothes, this place is perfect! They take old sewing patterns and make new clothes out of super cute materials!  I paired it with my QUAY sunglasses, a bargian £1 skirt from H&M and these super cute wedges that Andrew bought me from New look back when he was at Uni!
