BEAUTY: Bowling With Got2B

Monday, 3 August 2015

The Chalk girls always put on the best events and with the launch of Schwarzkopf Got2B All Star 10-In-1 Styling Treatment, they organised a night of bowling at All Star Lanes for us! The night was loads of fun but pretty dark so I haven't got great images for you. As usual it was lovely to catch up with all the girls and do a bit of bowling too.

There was loads of food from mini burgers to mini brownies and endless cocktails each complete with a cocktail unbrella!
Got2B All Star 10-In-1 Styling Treatment provides ten benefits in one treatment: shine, strength, smoothness, protection, anti-humidity, fullness, thickness, suppleness, anti-frizz and shape plus it smells like jasmine and peach!

We all also got our hair done which is something that I dont do ver often! I have no idea what I am doing so I just asked for 'straight please' haha. I used to straighten my hair every day but it has literally been years since I have seen it looking straight and smooth so I was pretty amazed when she managed to de-frizz my wavy hair to a perfect sleek look - using the new10-in-1 product of course. She also covered the tips in argan oil which I think is something I really should start doing to help keep my hair healthy.
It really made me think about hair care and what I can do to keep my hair looking and feeling healthy as well as investing in some argan oil - I dont even know where you can buy stuff like that lol but I do know it made my hair so much softer when the stylist used it on me. I did some research and came across these Hair Care Tips and this infographic (which also suggest hair oil) but lots of other things I can think about too! I'm not a fizzy drink or juice kind of person so I only drink water but the problem is, I dont drink enough of it so thats interesting to learn that it can effect your hair as well as your skin!

How Do You Look After Your Hair?

#PrimarkAW15
I always look forward to Primark's press day as it is the shop I buy most of my stuff in! I was literally just there this morning (I bought two bikinis for £1 each!), I was there last night and I popped in before work on Thursday too and bought something each time! As for the press day, I was not disappointed! I fell in love with loads of wintery pieces - especially these super cute little pom pom pumps and will be buying a pair for sure as soon as they hit stores!

Barry M Festival Dinner
This was just a lovely get together for dinner at The Hospital Club in aid of Festival Season coming up. Adam showed us some simple festival looks with lots of gold glitter and really inspired me! Then we all sat down and ate together at the most amazing pretty festival themed tables! We all left with a goodie bag full of festival goodies from make up to ear plugs haha. Thanks Barry M for having me along!

 LUSH Stratford Launch
The lovely LUSH PR girls invited me along to the new store opening at Stratford Westfield which was is my local when it comes to LUSH (apart from when I pop into oxford circus after work.) It was a super quick one for me as I was meeting a friend for dinner but of course I made some time to have a look around the new store and even got to make my own bath bomb. The new store is only a couple of shops away from its old location but it is airy and spacious and I'm looking forward to my next trip to pick up some new bits! I even heard that they might be stocking some Oxford Circus exclusives at some point!

#CelebrateSummer With Swimwear356
Swimwear356 certainly picked well when they decided to host their rooftop #CelebrateSummer party on one of the hottest days in the past ten years. I had just left a horrible claustrophobic event at Mahiki and rushed to Maddison's to enjoy some sunshine. The drinks were flowing from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. There was loud music playing and an amazing atmosphere as well as lots of pretty bikinis laid out everywhere. It was the perfect evening and I will be definitely be making reservation for Maddison's again - I can't wait to go back. I also left this one with a pretty impressive goodie bag full of holiday essentials - how amazing is this Models Own polish they gave me?!

 Xmas In July - Waitrose
Waitrose was magical. It brought that amazing Christmas magic and excitement to July and even though it was the hottest day ever it has made me super excited for Christmas. There were so many delicious things to look forward too and of course I got to sample everything. I fell in love with all the super cute cakes with faces, everything covered in edible glitter and the big roast dinner laid out on the table. I definitely stuffed myself silly but how could I resist? It's been a whole 6 months since I ate anything christmassy!

RECENT EVENTS: Krispy Kreme, Thames Cruise, Disney & Very

Kripsy Kreme #ChocoMania Tasting
This was a pretty exciting event unlike any I've been to before. I was invited back to the Ham Yard Hotel for an intimate tasting of the 4 new chocolate doughnuts in the Chocomania range, each of which, for the night, had its own bespoke cocktail to accompanie it. We had Colin, Head on New Product Development talk us through each flavour and how he came up with the idea and put it into action - it was very interesting. After the sweetest four course meal (all doughnuts) of my life, we were invited to the big table at the back covered in more treats to create our own flavour creation! I went for salted caramel fudge and banana crisps and it was delicious!
Casino River Cruise
You guys know me - how I love to play bingo and how Andrew and I convince everyone to go to the casino whenever we get the chance - we only just went last week when Andrew was put in charge of sorting a friends birthday haha so when I was invited along to an event which involved a night cruising along the Thames on a casino style boat, I decided that I was going to be going before I event finished reading the invite! Silly me because when I did finally read it properly, a day before the event, I realised that it docks at midnight and I had to get the tube home. The orgainisers tried to convince me that I would be able to catch the last central line train home at 00.13 which was 11 stops away from where the boat docked. There was no way I was risking missing the last train and being stranded in Mile End in a dress and heels so I nearly had to pull out until my dad came to the rescue and offered to pick me up.

I met with the lovely girls at their hotel room and we got ready together before jumping in an uber to the dock! The company was definitely what made it a great night!

Disney TSUM TSUM Launch
I got a super exciting invite from Disney last week, to attend an event for the UK launch of Tsum Tsums. Disney Tsum Tsum (which translates to Stack Stack) started off as a mobile game in Japan. The app was so popular that they followed it up with a collection of super cute soft toys designed to be stacked big and high like the game.

I was so sad when I couldn't make it (having a job now and all) so they very kindly sent me a box of Tsum Tsum toys - and they are too cute! Molly has claimed the cute little grey one (Thumper) for herself, she sat patiently watching while I photographed and then she chose that one and ran off with it.

In honour of TSUM TSUM, the first Tuesday of each month will be renamed ‘TSUM TSUM Tuesday’ at Disney Store and will see an additional new character released. The first of these was a TSUM TSUM Alice in Wonderland on April 7th.
#CANTWAITFORSUMMER Very Pool Party
On Wednesday after work, I walked down to the Haymarket Hotel for Very's #CANTWAITFORSUMMER pool party. Being based in Tottenham Court Road is great for after work events most of the time and it gives me a great excuse to explore all the side roads and shortcuts.

You may recognise this location from another event I recently went to - its the perfect place to hold a summer themed party because of the pretty pool with a bar area and lots of space for standing around chatting! I got there early but didn't have time to stay for too long (hence only two photos), we were greeted with a flower garland and a cocktail - always a good start, food and drinks were flowing and it was great to catch up with blogger friends. It was a bit of a star studded event full of youtubers and reality stars and I left with one of the best goodie bag treats ever - a go pro!! Now I really Cant Wait For Summer  - I'm looking forward to using it on my adventures!!

LIFESTLYE: Skyr, South Beach, L&G, Echo Falls, Mr Foggs and Next Events

Friday, 24 April 2015

I haven't done a blog post like this for ages but I have been to some fun events recently and I wanted to share them all with you!

Breakfast with Skyr
I got up super early for breakfast at the Ham Yard Hotel. We were there for the launch of Skyr, a new, naturally fat free, reduced sugar and high protein yoghurt. We started with a group chat with the nutritionist who gave us some great ideas for interesting ways to eat yogurt from smoothies and pancakes for breakfast to incorporating it into dinner with curries or fajitas.

Then we sat down for breakfast. If you know me you will know that a hotel breakfast is one of my favourite things - there was orange juice and sliced exotic fruit. There was smoked salmon and savoury croissants stuffed with spinach and bree which were amazing. And obviously there were cute little pots of yogurt layered with honey or fruit comport and topped with muesli and walnuts. It was creamy and had a lovely flavour. I finished off the whole pot without an issue!

#LandGGamesNight
It was a super hot day in London and I was invited along to an event at Joes Bloggers HQ at Kings Cross. The offices were amazing and we spent the night in their amazing breakout room with the big window doors open looking out over the little square below.
The night was spent playing Monopoly which I think must have been a nod to the investment thing since the night was  hosted by Legal & General, to promote their investment products! Of course there was lots of pizza and prosecco too! I had no idea how to play monopoly when I was younger and I still have no idea now but it was a lot of fun - much down to the crazy table I was sat on - we were definitly the loudest!

#ShoeBoxJukeBox with Next
I think this was my first Friday evening event and to be honest, I was a little skeptical about giving up my Friday night for an event but I am so glad I did because it was one of the best events I have been to in ages! Next let me pick a pair of shoes to wear to the event (outfit post to come soon!) and I came straight from work, getting there early as per usual. I went straight over to the shoe customization table and got stuck in before the crowd arrived. There were pretty shoes everywhere and the food and drinks were flowing through the night! As well as that, there were manicutists, games and random outbursts of dancers dancing every now and then. A great night with my blog friends and a great company - Thanks Next!! Afterwards I was off down the road to meet Andrew and Stefan to continue the night in Shoreditch - I was super excited and switched into my new Georgina trainers to dance the rest of the night away!

Afternoon Tea At Mr Foggs
Andrew and I were invited along to have Afternoon Tea at Mr Foggs. It's a quirky concept bar modelled on the Mayfair house in which Phileas Fogg would have lived after travelling Around the World in 80 Days. We followed a little side road winding off into the distance somewhere behind new bond street and arrived outside a strange little building in the middle of nowhere.

Let me start by saying, the food was not to up to big London hotel standards but a visit to Mr Foggs is all about the experience and that was amazing! We started off with a little champagne cocktail in a tiny tea cup. Since there was a big group of us, it meant that we could have a taste of almost all of the cocktails and watched in amazement as all different sized tea pots came out and were placed on the table in front of us. They all had strange little things sticking out of their lids, dried apple slices, cherries, sweets ect. It was a super fun afternoon!

Echo Falls
I popped along to The OXO tower with Sherin last week for the launch of Echo Falls new fruity wines. We spend the evening sipping of the cocktails which were surprisingly tasty - I wasnt too sure what to expect from a wine cocktail but they were delicious. The white wine was definitely my favourite with tones to white peach and mango. The view of London from the balcony was amazing and the sunset on the way home was just as pretty! I left with a bottle of wine and a cocktail mixer so hopefully I can have a go at making a cocktail or two myself!
