LIFESTYLE: My Morning Routine

Monday, 11 April 2016

Bathroom habits seem to be of everyone's interest lately, have you noticed? There's been articles in the newspaper and magazines and press releases left, right and center on just how clean we are. Pebble Grey did some of their own research and apparently found out that over a third of people admit to not showering or bathing daily. Ew

Natural cleaning brand method (remember I did a post with them a little while ago?) also did some reasearch and found out that one in five of us wear clothes taken straight from the dirty laundry. Also Ew. Plus a quarter of people say their cleaner is more important to them than their doctor.

Check out this list of Britain’s top ten most surprising #dirtylittlesecrets! Apart from the ewwwwss and the yuck,  I actually thought it was pretty interesting!

1. Running out of clean underwear and going commando
2. Using a hairdryer to dust (LOL)
3. Noticing a lipstick on a 'clean' wine glass + wiping it off with a finger
4. Leaving the bed sheets for more than six months before washing them
5. Following the five second rule and eating food that has fallen on the floor
6. Eating from the same plate at dinner that was used at lunchtime (guilty)
7. Never washing hands before eating
8. Hiding mess away in cupboards rather than cleaning up
9. Buying new clothes to avoid doing the ironing
10. Cleaning the house in the nude

To go together with this, I was asked to write about my morning routine but I'll be honest it isn't very exciting, especially during the week and I only have one dirty little secret but more on that later. I can get from waking up to out of the door in 11 minutes if needed, a little precise, I know, but that's because it happened last week and I was pretty impressed with myself.

That was one of the quicker mornings obvs but I think I left the house looking pretty much the same and I still managed to do everything I usually do - just a bit faster! So let me talk you through it.

During the week, I set my alarm for 7am and start my morning listening to Dave Berry on capital for 10 (or 30) minutes. I like listening to them talk because it makes me feel like I need to concentrate which wakes up my brain - does that even make sense? If that doesnt work, then I'll jump on youtube and find something loud and fast - at the moment, my go to song is Riton Ft. Kah-Lo - Rinse & Repeat.

Then when I finally get out of bed & find my clothes for the day (not out of the dirty laundry, ew), they go straight onto my radiator because getting into warm clothes makes so much difference! I usually shower in the evenings so I dont need to worry about that until later on.
So now maybe I should let you in to my little secret. I only wash my hair once a week, soz. I'm in that routine and it works for me, my hair lasts fine and I seriously don't think it looks much different from day one to day seven, is that really terrible?

Annyyyway, back to what I do do. Honestly, it's just a matter of brushing my teeth, eyeliner on, clothes on, perfume (currently FIERCE by A&F) and out of the door, well I say that but actually, I have OCD which means I cant just walk out of the door, not until I have checked all of my plugs, two doors, both cameras, my laptop and a window that I have never even opened. It used to completely take over my morning but with the help of my therapist, I am getting better at leaving my bedroom in the morning so hopefully that'll be something that wont be part of my morning routine for much longer.

At the weekends, we have never really laid in later than 9, nowadays we're up early and at the gym before then! Again, as of recently,  My blender is finally getting some use and after the gym, I'll make myself a smoothie, this weekend it was banana, spinach, almond milk, honey & yoghurt and for my first attempt at spinach inside a smoothie (lets forget that I worked at Boost for 6 months) it wasnt too bad! I took a handful and Andrew ate the rest for breakfast with some garlic paste. Yeah, I thought it was strange too.

After that, it's all about a nice long bath with something from Lush, a little face cream, maybe even some mascara and my contact lenses!

Whats Your Dirty Little Secret?

LIFESTYLE: LUSH Easter 2016 Bath Bombs

Monday, 28 March 2016

Yey, I love a little LUSH round up post here on Georgina Does and today it's a few pieces from the Easter range! I have a shower but I'm all about the weekend bath bombs at Andrew house (as you might have noticed) so although the range is full of all sorts from soaps, bubble bars and melts, I have picked out my three of the bath bombs show you guys.

Before I even opened my package I was hit with a super intense smell. The mix was full of lovely cirtrus scentss which of course are my favorite but this there was also a hint of intense sweetness to it. I wasnt sure which smell came from which to begin with but what I can tell you from the get go, is that I think these are my favourite smelling selection of Lush bath bombs ever!

First I have this super cute little yellow one! I think, exclusive to the Oxford Street store (I couldn't find it anywhere online), this one is called Spring Bunny. Its smaller that their usual bath bombs but for a little guy, it has a huge scent coming off of it! Zesty and uplifting thanks to the Sicilian lemon oil, moisturising thanks to that large amount of cocoa butter within and super super cute!

Once dropped in the bath, it's quite a strong fizzer, sending out waves of yellow and white and then right when you think that it, there's a surprise pop of color in the middle. I'll leave it to you to see what it is for yourself!
Humpty Dumpty is pretty big and a little bit scary looking if you ask me, although he smells
great. It's scented with citrusy Brazilian orange oil so you know it's going to be good in my books. He fizzes away quite quickly and leaves the bath a pretty blue which I really like.

I later found out that he was bigger than usual because you can crack him open to find a little fried egg inside - so you are able to use this one over three baths if you wanted, that definitely justifies the £6.97 price tag, although when it comes to my baths it's go big or go home, I usually just throw the whole thing in.

Lastly, I have the fluffy egg! So this one moves away from the citrus scents but I still absolutely lovely it because it takes on Snow Fairys scent instead. Everyone says it smells like sweets but for me, its a little bit more specific, I think it smells like peardrops and I love that.

Another that fizzes away very quicky and quite loudly as well leaving the bath a very deep, lovely shade of pink!

BEAUTY: LUSH Valentines Range 2016

Thursday, 11 February 2016

I have just a few new LUSH products to share with you today in the lead up to valentine's weekend! Andrew and I actually have our big plans next weekend because it was half the price so this week we just have a nice meal booked which hopefully means lots of time to have a pamper and a nice bath beforehand!
I have three products from the brand here. Firstly there is the Lover Lamp bath bomb which is brand new for 2016! Its one of their £3.95 big, round bath bombs which is totally white apart from a few big red cocoa butter hearts which are embedded inside it.There are also lots of little red paper hearts hidden inside which come out later on. As the bath bomb fizzes away in the water, the cocoa butter hearts come flying out and melt adding a touch of moisture to the water. The bath bomb is made with Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute and Sweet Brazillian Orange Oil which makes it smell just like a terry chocolate orange. Perfect.

The Kiss lip scrub is back again this year and is a  lip scrub. It's a super bright pink colour and also has little love hearts in it. Cute. Made with fine sea salt, caster sugar and Fair Trade cocoa butter and a touch of almond and mandarin oils. I am a big lover or citrusy scents so I love this. Use it to exfoliate you lips keeping them smooth.

Lastly I have the Roses All The Way bar of soap which is so pretty and kinda interesting with its swirly design. Based around Alice in Wonderland, the pink exterior fades to white as you start to use it. It's subtly rose scented but very delicate. Super moisturizing and starts to melt in the heat of your hands if you hold it for too long. It also contains rapeseed and coconut oil to keep your skin soft and smooth.

EVENTS: Primark, Barry M, Lush, Swimwear365 & Waitrose

Monday, 27 July 2015

#PrimarkAW15
I always look forward to Primark's press day as it is the shop I buy most of my stuff in! I was literally just there this morning (I bought two bikinis for £1 each!), I was there last night and I popped in before work on Thursday too and bought something each time! As for the press day, I was not disappointed! I fell in love with loads of wintery pieces - especially these super cute little pom pom pumps and will be buying a pair for sure as soon as they hit stores!

Barry M Festival Dinner
This was just a lovely get together for dinner at The Hospital Club in aid of Festival Season coming up. Adam showed us some simple festival looks with lots of gold glitter and really inspired me! Then we all sat down and ate together at the most amazing pretty festival themed tables! We all left with a goodie bag full of festival goodies from make up to ear plugs haha. Thanks Barry M for having me along!

 LUSH Stratford Launch
The lovely LUSH PR girls invited me along to the new store opening at Stratford Westfield which was is my local when it comes to LUSH (apart from when I pop into oxford circus after work.) It was a super quick one for me as I was meeting a friend for dinner but of course I made some time to have a look around the new store and even got to make my own bath bomb. The new store is only a couple of shops away from its old location but it is airy and spacious and I'm looking forward to my next trip to pick up some new bits! I even heard that they might be stocking some Oxford Circus exclusives at some point!

#CelebrateSummer With Swimwear356
Swimwear356 certainly picked well when they decided to host their rooftop #CelebrateSummer party on one of the hottest days in the past ten years. I had just left a horrible claustrophobic event at Mahiki and rushed to Maddison's to enjoy some sunshine. The drinks were flowing from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. There was loud music playing and an amazing atmosphere as well as lots of pretty bikinis laid out everywhere. It was the perfect evening and I will be definitely be making reservation for Maddison's again - I can't wait to go back. I also left this one with a pretty impressive goodie bag full of holiday essentials - how amazing is this Models Own polish they gave me?!

 Xmas In July - Waitrose
Waitrose was magical. It brought that amazing Christmas magic and excitement to July and even though it was the hottest day ever it has made me super excited for Christmas. There were so many delicious things to look forward too and of course I got to sample everything. I fell in love with all the super cute cakes with faces, everything covered in edible glitter and the big roast dinner laid out on the table. I definitely stuffed myself silly but how could I resist? It's been a whole 6 months since I ate anything christmassy!

BEAUTY: Intergalactica, Lush Oxford Circus Special Edition

Tuesday, 2 June 2015

Lush has fast become one of my favourite brands so I am pretty pleased to be able to say that the Oxford Street Store is my local becuase its their new flagship and it has loads of exclusive products! I  have to walk past there every morning on my way to work and I usually spend my friday afternoons in there too waiting for Andrew to come and meet me.
Last week I decided it was time for me to try my first of the exclusive bath bombs. Lush staff are known for being friendly but the staff in that store are so amazing - they just love to chat. I was standing talking to one girl for another 10 minutes after she had already helped a very indecisive me pick what I wanted.
I decided on Intergalactica. It doesn't really look any difference to an ordinary bath bomb from Lush but Intergalactica turned out to be my favourite bath bomb ever.

Firstly it smells amazing and that was the reason I bought it in the first place. It's minty, very similar smelling to mouthwash but not in a bad way. It was one of those smells that you breath in deep to help open your airways. It was super refeshing.

Another thing I loved about it was the way it fizzed. Firstly, it was much fizzier that any of the ones I've used in the past - it started off going crazy from one side of the bath to the next but when it started to calm down, it fizzed in a spiral, I like to think that was all part of the galaxy theme but I'm not sure if that was intentional.
The last part that secured it as my favourite was the colour the water turned when all the fizzing was finished. It was the deepest aqua blue with tonnes of glitter. I couldn't decide if I was happy with the space theme or it was more like being a mermaid princess in the blue lagoon - either way I really enjoyed it and will definitely be purchasing another one soon.

BEAUTY: Lush Easter Range 2015

Friday, 27 March 2015

It seems like Lush only just brought out there mothers day range and now there's another new one! This so far, is probably my favourite range regarding smells and its pretty cute too! I have been eying up the hoppity poppity bath bomb (because its so cute and it has a face) and the Fluffy egg (because apparently it smells like snow fairy) but here's what I have so far!

A Bunch of Carrots
These come as a super cute set of three little carrots. They are pretty citrusy and refreshing like their bright orange colour, I love how  cute and fun they are. They are bubble bars which means you usually get quite a few uses out of them - with there being three in this set, they are super value for money.
Pot o Gold
This is the first ever shower gelly I've ever come across and I think it is one of my favourite Lush smells ever! It super sweet like honey or caramel. You use it similarly to a bar of soap and it's a pretty different feel to anything I've ever used in the shower before, kind of like a jelly that you would eat but much sturdier and the most amazing gold colour (as the name suggests).
Golden Egg
Another super cute one, especially for someone like me who has a bit of an obsession with easter eggs - it's covered in glitter like alot of the christmas collection and smells similar to the pot of gold with its sweet caramel smell. Its the actual size of an egg which I wasn't expecting and its called a bath bomb melt so it fizzes up a little bit but leaves your water feeling soft and silky.

BEAUTY: My Lush Shower Gel Collection

Wednesday, 11 March 2015

I seem to have built up quite a collection of shower gels from Lush. I love the unique scents you get from their products - unlike any others you can buy plus every one fills my whole bathroom with their smell. I also love the bottles of these shower gels, although I'm pretty pleased that I have a giant snow fairy, I am kinda annoyed that its not the same size at the others haha

Snow Fairy
As you can see, I really like snow fairy - as well as this collection, I also leave a bottle at Andrews house! I was running low, so Christmas just gone, Andrew treated me to a big bottle! I have been told they changed the formula this year to keep the glitter up in the gel for longer rather than sinking to the bottom like it has done in my old ones, they still smell and work fine, they just have a very glittery bottom.

So white
This is one that actually isn't in my collection and I was so sad I didn't end up getting myself a bottle this year. It's another Christmas limited edition one and it smells like apples - one of my favorite shower scents ever! I love fruity smells best!

Prince Charming
Another limited edition one, this time from the Valentines Day range. Like snow fairy, its very  sweet and sugary - this time from the marshmallow root and pomegranate. Also like snow fairy, all the stuff sinks to the bottle after a while. It's quite strong and overpowering but I like it, it does seem to smell different in the bottle to what it does in the shower which is odd.

Hot Toddy
Sorry guys, I have just realised that I only get Lush shower gels when they are limited edition! This one again is from the christmas range and out of the three mentioned this is the most christmassy one, you open it and christmas is the first think you think of! So festive that it only gets used during the year on those days when it's raining outside and you just want to stay in and have a nice warm shower and eat shepards pie and chocolate all day haha

Yummy Mummy
This is the newest release which has been brought out for mothers day. Its a lovely lilac colour with a slight shimmer. Its super sweet which, as you can tell by now, I love, it also with a very musky undertone!

LUSH: Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb

Tuesday, 3 February 2015

Just before Christmas, I was tasked with buying the perfect gift for my brothers friend that he could pretend he bought. Lucky me haha. Of course my first choice for a girl that I didn't know had to be Lush, everyone loves a pretty bath! I was given a budget (LOL) so I bought a sparkly box and filled it with Lush Products. Apparently I got too much for my money so he let me keep a couple for myself and this Shoot for the stars bath ballistic was one of them!

I initially picked up Shoot For The Stars because it's so pretty to look at as it is! When I dropped it into my bath I loved that it spun a layer of silver glitter as I didn't expect this one to sparkle when I bought it, apparently this is a change from last years one which has a yellow star rather than a white sparkly one! It was quite a slow fizzer but I also liked how when it was fizzing, it was blues, pinks and yellows but once it was finished I had a sparkly, deep purple bath. It definitely looks like a nights sky while it's fizzing away getting darker and darker the more its fizzes.

It seems that this was a limited edition Christmas one which I didn't realise. It came out last year and the year before so I hope it will be out this year too so I can buy another one as I really enjoyed it!

New Years Eve 2014

Tuesday, 6 January 2015

OK! I've turned my laptop back on after nearly three weeks and I'm ready to get started again, finally. It's been a super hectic few weeks obvs and your going to have to bare with me while I get used to actually typing again - I've been finding it a bit hard so far this morning haha. I should start with some holiday photos but as usual, on a family holiday, I didn't really get many interesting ones haha.
My last blog post was on my NYE make up ideas but now I'm going to take you though getting ready and what I actually did on new years eve! As for my outfit I was stuck between two, so I started my day by trying them both on an making a decision. This first one is the one I didn't go with - It's this amaaaazing jumpsuit* from RARE. I loved that it had so many aspects to it with the plunging V neck, the peplum and the sequin body and I am very pleased to say that it actually stays up which I was a bit surprised about. I loved it loads and it was something really different for me but it just wasn't right for the sort of plans I had, I was going for food and cocktails and for me, this is the kind of outfit I'd wear to a club! Isn't it pretty though?

The outfit that I actually ended up wearing was something I bought a few weeks back on a whim. I was literally just scrolling though the Clothing at Tesco site picking up anything that I liked the look of and when it arrived, I noticed that I'd picked out the perfect little top for my night! It's a black crop jumper with gold threat though it which was perfect as the cocktail bar that I went to was going for a black and gold theme! I tried to top with jeans and shorts but finally decided to wear it with a simple black mini skirt and my new boots from ASOS.
I know I was chatting about my new silver nail polish previously but when I realised it was a black and gold themed night that all changed. The polish that I ended up wearing was actually one of my stand out favourites from the past year so it was quite fitting! Its a gold texture one from Barry M called Majesty and it covers the nails really well. I popped that in my bag for the night along with the other two products I told you about from ASOS! The little mascara sample was great and even small enough to actually keep in my purse. For me, it was great for a more natural look and didn't clump my lashes together! As for the liner, there is no other one I'd use at the moment, its just so easy to apply.

Amongst my outfit and my make up I also wanted to mention my underwear haha. Since either outfit was nice and easy it meant I could wear any shape and colour underwear I fancied. I stuck with my usual every day comfortable fit but opted for this lovely teal set from Ann Summers* (The bra is now just £10 in the sale). I'm not usually one for lace but since teal is my absolute favourite colour, I couldn't resist this! I ordered it online which is very unusual for me and it fitted perfectly - I was very pleased as you can imagine. The cups come with extra removable pads and it was so lovely to find a pair of matching knickers that wasn't a thong.
Now that my outfit and everything else was sorted it was time for a nice relaxing bath before getting ready! I got to use my melting snowman that Andrew bought me as part of my christmas present! He smells like christmas, fizzes up alot more than I expected, left my skin super smooth.

All that's left now is to show you a few photos from the night itself!

 Happy New Year Everyone!
