Summer is my favourite time of the year! Everyone just seems to much happier, everything is brighter and we can spend our weeks jetting off on holiday and our weekends having BBQs and cocktails out in the garden and thats exactly what Andrew and I have been up to lately.

Funnily enough, while we were in Mallorca a few weeks ago, World Duty Free got in touch to tell me about their Fabulous Summer Drinks. Running until the end of August, they're inviting holiday makers to try something new from their selection of travel exclusive drinks with at least 30% off selected summer spirits and up to 50% off duty free spirits. Travellers can actually try spirits before they buy (and fly!) at the tasting bars too- for free!

They sent an Aperol Spritz kit and we spent the afternoon out in the garden, making and drinking cocktails in the sun!

I never wear shoes in my garden - although I convinced Andrew not to wear them here and he ended up with a splinter.. oops haha. I am wearing my pretty new denim dress from Yumi. Its very my style in the summer, whenever its warm enough, I love to wear a dress. I love its summery flower print - Yumi are great for pretty summer designs - perfect for being outside!

If you follow me on my social media, you will know that I am currently sitting by a pool with a delicious virgin strawberry daquiry (it's just after 1 here) in my hand which reminded me i needed to tell you about the virgin cocktail i have been loving at home recently!

This post is up a little late which is a pain but I just want happy with the photos. I'm the mean time, I have actually been using and loving both of these products, they smell amazing and are so refreshing and uplifting on a hot sunny morning like the ones we are finally having. I love the fresh lime and mint smell which as well as their usual nourishing and hydrating body butter, I have also been using the body splash - it's something a bit new for me. I have been using VS body sprays for as long as I can remember and its a similar thing although hit doesn't come with a spray so its a bit harder to use but the smell makes up for it so I don't mind!

Isn't it lovely when marketing people come to you, having read your blog, with content that you are actually interested in posting? Well, Roberson Wine got in touch, knowing that I love food knowledge as well as eating the stuff and sent over this infographic. I don't drink wine that often but I love learning about food so I still found this super interesting! And with London Wine Week finishing yesterday, what better timing?!

If I am drinking wine, it isn't usually with a meal although its a well known fact that they right wine can totally enhance the taste of whatever your eating. I was super surprised to see that, that is even the case with chocolate! My favourite pairing from this list - and the one that I have most often - is Lobster and Champagne. Andrew and I were only in Burger and Lobster last week, with our bottle of prosecco - it's nice to know what we fancy is actually known to work well!

Todays post is about my recent visit to the ICEBAR, just off of Regents street, hidden down a little side road with the most lovely, pretty bars & restaurants outside! I've been before for a blogger event and I think we went for Andrews 22nd or 23rd birthday but we hadn't been there for a while so we were super excited to be back!

I arrived a little early and got talking to Tom, who told me that the ice comes straight from a frozen flowing river all the way from Sweden. It arrives in London in big blocks and is shaped on site by specialist ice artists. Since it is taken from a flowing river, you are able to see the ripples in the water if you take a proper look. I was so pleased to have spoke to him before I went in so I could have a look for myself when I get in! Of course he was right and it was so pretty.

He also told me they change it once a year and I was lucky enough to visit just a week after its latest update - it's currently food themed - It's like they knew I was coming haha. We donned out big blue coats and made our way inside! There was a giant ice cupcake and the bar was designed like an ice cream van serving all the drinks but my favourite was definitely the giant ice pineapple in the corner - how cool?! The ice bar is one of those places you just cant leave without taking a selfie (or 100). Luckily for you guys, I have just included one here!

After our visit to the bar, we warmed up downstairs with a meal at their restaurant. It was a lovely candle lit atmosphere and we both enjoyed three courses. I started with prawns and Andrew had fried chicken, which we both agreed tasted very homemade, not greasy at all and really lovely.

We both went for flat iron steaks for mains which came out cooked just as we asked! Perfect with triple cooked fries and salty kale mmm.

and to finish I had a chocolate mousse covered in nuts and Andrew had some ice cream conconction. I just cant have a meal without dessert and this hit the spot!

And you cant go to the ice bar without enjoying some of their lovely cocktails - inside and out of the bar! Inside, I always go for their mocktails, I love them so much - its something like strawberry syrup and apple juice and it is delicious, I have looked forward to it at every trip! Outside the bar and with dinner we tried one called "Crumble" which was made from Absolut vodka, cinnamon, apple juice and blackberries and a pornstar martini which is my go to cocktail! Both delicious.

ICEBAR is a great experience whether you are going with a big group of friends, a partner or even a family night out - all three of which I have experienced! It's certainly different from your usual night out in London and if you haven't been at least once, I would recomend trying it out!

One of my new years resolutions that I mentioned before was to eat healthily and the same goes for Andrew so we have been thinking of ways that we can still go out and do what we enjoy- namely our Friday nights out together spent at cocktail bars - but just a bit healthier. He decided that from now on he wants to stop drinking Prosecco at every opportunity (if that is even possible) and try to drink G&T's as they are known for being a low calorie drink. According to the internet, they can be around 100 calories per drink or as little as 35 calories each with a diet tonic water.

Another great thing I discovered while researching G&Ts is that it is an easy drink to modify into a tasty cocktail with just a few more ingredients. And on top of that it sounds sophisticated so Andrew can be all grown up while I continue to order my chocolate cocktails. Although this was pretty tasty so I might be joining him every now and again!

I had a look for some ideas and decided on a blackberry, lemon and mint cocktail which I found on this website. I changed it a bit as I went along but it's near enough the same.

Ingredients:

Waitrose Blackberrys

Waitrose Organic Lemons

Waitrose Mint

Schweppes Tonic Water

Hendricks Gin

Ice

They are the perfect fruity, low calorie cocktails. When I got to making it smelt so fresh and energizing I was happy enough drinking it in the day without the gin.

I started with three blackberry's each, four or five mint leaves and the juice of half a lemon. Once I had mushed that all together with the back of a spoon, I added the tonic water and then a little shot of gin and gave it a stir

These were loads of fun to make, quick and easy and the smell on it's own was delicious and filled the ~~bar~~ kitchen! I will definitely be getting Andrew over one weekend to try them out together!

OK! I've turned my laptop back on after nearly three weeks and I'm ready to get started again, finally. It's been a super hectic few weeks obvs and your going to have to bare with me while I get used to actually typing again - I've been finding it a bit hard so far this morning haha. I should start with some holiday photos but as usual, on a family holiday, I didn't really get many interesting ones haha.

My last blog post was on my NYE make up ideas but now I'm going to take you though getting ready and what I actually did on new years eve! As for my outfit I was stuck between two, so I started my day by trying them both on an making a decision. This first one is the one I didn't go with - It's this amaaaazing jumpsuit* from RARE. I loved that it had so many aspects to it with the plunging V neck, the peplum and the sequin body and I am very pleased to say that it actually stays up which I was a bit surprised about. I loved it loads and it was something really different for me but it just wasn't right for the sort of plans I had, I was going for food and cocktails and for me, this is the kind of outfit I'd wear to a club! Isn't it pretty though?

The outfit that I actually ended up wearing was something I bought a few weeks back on a whim. I was literally just scrolling though the Clothing at Tesco site picking up anything that I liked the look of and when it arrived, I noticed that I'd picked out the perfect little top for my night! It's a black crop jumper with gold threat though it which was perfect as the cocktail bar that I went to was going for a black and gold theme! I tried to top with jeans and shorts but finally decided to wear it with a simple black mini skirt and my new boots from ASOS.

I know I was chatting about my new silver nail polish previously but when I realised it was a black and gold themed night that all changed. The polish that I ended up wearing was actually one of my stand out favourites from the past year so it was quite fitting! Its a gold texture one from Barry M called Majesty and it covers the nails really well. I popped that in my bag for the night along with the other two products I told you about from ASOS! The little mascara sample was great and even small enough to actually keep in my purse. For me, it was great for a more natural look and didn't clump my lashes together! As for the liner, there is no other one I'd use at the moment, its just so easy to apply.

Amongst my outfit and my make up I also wanted to mention my underwear haha. Since either outfit was nice and easy it meant I could wear any shape and colour underwear I fancied. I stuck with my usual every day comfortable fit but opted for this lovely teal set from Ann Summers* (The bra is now just £10 in the sale). I'm not usually one for lace but since teal is my absolute favourite colour, I couldn't resist this! I ordered it online which is very unusual for me and it fitted perfectly - I was very pleased as you can imagine. The cups come with extra removable pads and it was so lovely to find a pair of matching knickers that wasn't a thong.

Now that my outfit and everything else was sorted it was time for a nice relaxing bath before getting ready! I got to use my melting snowman that Andrew bought me as part of my christmas present! He smells like christmas, fizzes up alot more than I expected, left my skin super smooth.
