BEAUTY: Bowling With Got2B

Monday, 3 August 2015

The Chalk girls always put on the best events and with the launch of Schwarzkopf Got2B All Star 10-In-1 Styling Treatment, they organised a night of bowling at All Star Lanes for us! The night was loads of fun but pretty dark so I haven't got great images for you. As usual it was lovely to catch up with all the girls and do a bit of bowling too.

There was loads of food from mini burgers to mini brownies and endless cocktails each complete with a cocktail unbrella!
Got2B All Star 10-In-1 Styling Treatment provides ten benefits in one treatment: shine, strength, smoothness, protection, anti-humidity, fullness, thickness, suppleness, anti-frizz and shape plus it smells like jasmine and peach!

We all also got our hair done which is something that I dont do ver often! I have no idea what I am doing so I just asked for 'straight please' haha. I used to straighten my hair every day but it has literally been years since I have seen it looking straight and smooth so I was pretty amazed when she managed to de-frizz my wavy hair to a perfect sleek look - using the new10-in-1 product of course. She also covered the tips in argan oil which I think is something I really should start doing to help keep my hair healthy.
It really made me think about hair care and what I can do to keep my hair looking and feeling healthy as well as investing in some argan oil - I dont even know where you can buy stuff like that lol but I do know it made my hair so much softer when the stylist used it on me. I did some research and came across these Hair Care Tips and this infographic (which also suggest hair oil) but lots of other things I can think about too! I'm not a fizzy drink or juice kind of person so I only drink water but the problem is, I dont drink enough of it so thats interesting to learn that it can effect your hair as well as your skin!

LIFESTYLE: My TV Debut - BBC2 Hair.

Friday, 24 July 2015

Megabus have announced a wonderful competition, a gallery full of people sharing their #megamoments and it got me thinking…what would mine be?  If you follow me on social media you might have noticed me going on about my TV debut on Wednesday night haha - this was definitely a mega moment for me.

Way back in Feburary - Fashion week to be exact - I was contacted by BBC2 asked if I would like to be a hair model for the show. Of course I said yes straight away!

I met with the other bloggers in Cafe Nero where we all got introduced and micked up! We were all going to a fashion week party later that night and were told to come up with our perfect hairstyle for the occasion which our stylist had to create for us! I was paired up with Kellie and I asked her for a fishtail plait and lots of volume in the top. She later confessed that she had no idea how to do a fishtail plait although you would never know considering what I ended up with. She worked her magic and from the outside it looked exactly how it should. No one would have known about the hundreds on tiny bands holding it all together underneath!

After we were ranked (you'll have to watch to find out where my hair came - Ok you won't I'm too excited to tell you I came first) we set off to the ON|OFF party.

Whats Your #MegaMoment?

BEAUTY: Toni & Guy Urban Ponytail

Thursday, 14 May 2015

When it comes to hair - considering the whole of my mums side of the family are hairdressers - I seriously have no idea what I am doing. I don’t even brush it on a daily basis, I just wake up and go - taking bed head quite literally.

When I was younger, I would straighten it every single day but then it was just a straight version on what it is now, plus it really didn’t help its condition when it had already been bleached bright blonde.

So when I have a special occasion and I need to actually do something with it, I love a good tutorial video. This one from Tony and Guy is a quirky urban ponytail how to video which uses Dry Shampoo and sea salt sprays to add texture to your hair. It was shot by RANKIN which is amazing and it is super easy to follow.

BEAUTY: My Morning Mane with LeoVagas.com

Monday, 6 April 2015

LeoVegas.com got in touch last week to tell me about a new campaign they are running. Basically as their new TV advert is all about a lion having his mane styled in a barbers, they are running a competition to find the UK's Best 'Morning Mane'.

So yesterday, I thought I'd better just get it over and done with haha. I actually didn't realise how much of the morning I spend totally dazed because I still look just as tired after the second photo. I sleep with my hair tired up so when I wake up it usually all over the place, half tied up so the first thing is to take out my hairband and straighten it out. I hardly ever brush my hair so its just about pulling it all to the same level and running my fingers through it to fix any big knots.

Next up I put in my lenses because I have come to realise that, although I don't do much with my hair, doing anything at all with your hair is a super pain when you have glasses on. Now is also eyeliner and teeth brushing time!

Then lastly (not many steps I know haha) and not ever day but quite often I will spray in some Batiste, sometimes because it looks greasy and Batiste is the best thing for that but sometimes just because it looks a bit flat. Usually, I will go straight to my dark brunette can because its brown rather than white and that means less faffing about trying to get rid of the white powder. Although, after being sent a sample, I have recently been using their brand new scent called Eden which is exclusive to Superdrug and Limited edition. It smells of sweet melon and honeysuckle and its has become my favourite scent that they have ever brought out - its sweet and reminds me of eating melon in the garden during the summer - so good!
Anyway guys, prepare yourself for my before and after shot:You guys can enter too (here) if your brave enough

FASHION: Blue Smock Dress And Chunky White Sandals

Monday, 31 March 2014

I didn't realise how much I loved this outfit until I just looked at the photos, I think it helped that I was having a bit of a good hair day too haha but still, it is a cute outfit!

I think that blue is one of the colours that suits me best, it always has, whether its a deep royal blue or a light, pastel shade. It changes though the year as my hair gets lighter and darker between dyes and for this tone of hair, I think the pastel blue goes perfectly!

The sandals are super comfy and they give me a little extra height so they are great all round - plus white makes a huge change for me which I am totally in to at the moment. I have so many shoes from SpyLoveBuy, but they always impress, I can never find a bad word to say about them!

This week, Andrew and I confirmed our summer holiday, we're going to Thailand and this outfit will definitely be coming with me! I'm so excited

Id love if you could vote for my look in the Stylefruits Pastel Me Petty Comeptition

FASHION: Blink 182 Band Tee

Monday, 17 February 2014

When I was younger, I was totally one of those scene kids, you know the lightning strike print skinny jeans, the huge trainers, the over straightened, spiky on top, changing colour every week hair and the big criminal damage hoodies, until we moved house in November my whole bedroom wall was covered in Kerrang magazines, mostly pictures of the Blink 182 boys. I was obsessed at one point, I bought all of their books, ordered magazine cuttings from eBay, bought all the CDs (not that I had a CD player haha) and listened to them all day and all night. I'd still say I count them as my favourite band ever. I used to get so upset that I would never see them perform live together but a couple of years ago they reunited and my amazing boyfriend got us tickets to see them at the 02. They were all grown up, but I still loved the music

I may have grown out of the style but I'm still a big fan of rock, all kinds really, screamo, metal, pop rock, emo, punk pop, but Blink 182 will always be my favourite band. So when Blue Banana, an online shop that I was very familiar with back then, offered to let me pick something from their website, I thought it was definitely time for a new band tee. This is so me. I've always wanted this simple one with the huge logo but couldn't find it anywhere, Andrew was shocked that I had managed to finally get hold of one. I totally had to include my trying to be scene but totally forgotten how to photos at the end haha

MODELLING: Warrior Princess

Monday, 1 July 2013

Just a quick post for you guys today! If you follow my twitter or Instagram you will have probably seen this before but if not then here it is!

I did some modelling for jewellery designer, Elisha Francis a while back and here are the final images. The jewellery was amazing, unlike anything I've ever seen before. It was mostly made of chunky rope weaved together and then bits or metal and wool were added into that.

The theme for the shoot was "Warrior Princess" and I hope that I was able to bring a bit of that across in the photos. I really enjoyed shooting with Elisha as usual and loved the whole experience. As you may also know, modelling is my ultimate dream job so doing anything that will bring me another step closer to my goal is always enjoyable and hopefully beneficial.

Hope you guys like the photos and the jewellery!

Let me know what you think!
