Colour Me Launch & Giveaway

Monday, 16 May 2016

I was recently introduced to a product that might not ordinarily been something that I was interested in but as of late it's something I have been thinking more and more about. Wearing make up. I know to most of you this sounds really strange but I dont wear make up and even if I wanted to, I have absolutely no idea how to apply it.

So I was very interested when I heard about a brand called Colour Me. I was lucky enough to be one of 4 or 5 bloggers invited to dinner at Zuma to hear all about the new product. The founder, Eric spent the evening with us retelling amazing tales of his past and how he came up with the product! Everyone loves The Naked Palettes right? All his idea. And of course so is the colour me tool. While he was working with Benefit & Urban Decay in the past, he found that all of his clients were asking him for that airbrushed look. He achieved this manually by patting on the make up and in the end he came up with the colour me. It taps your make up on to your face with tiny vibrations - 250 times a second!
Dinner by the way, was absolutely amazing. Just opposite Harrods, we ate incredible quality food and drank (lots of champagne, naturally) in a private room and it was the best sushi I have ever eaten. Plus I now have a new found love for wagyu beef - I'm never eating normal steak again.
As the only one without any make up on that evening, I was nominated for the demo. This was actually a good thing because it meant I got to see and feel how it was applied by an expert. The result? A Smooth seamless finish which I was pretty pleased with! My face felt great afterwards as well, I feel like the vibrations got the blood pumping a little bit, I was all tingly afterwards. Shame I was only going straight afterwards but nonetheless, check out my slightly drunken midnight selfie before I took it off.
I have been lucky enough to get a colour me to giveaway here on my blog so if you want a piece of this action, enter below as usual!

Coconut Oil
So I was a little bit skeptical about this because I literally had no idea what to do with it and every single write up said something different! But never fear, twitter to the rescue - I tweeted and luckily for me I got four of the same replies so I went with that! Melt it into a liquid oil and apply to dry hair, leave for 30 minutes, then wash out. Easy!

I was a little bit stressed and edgy because I have silly thoughts like what if my hair doesn't like it so I washed it out after 15 minutes but even after that I felt a great improvement in my hair, it was much softer than before! So that's me set up for next time, I'll try it for the whole half hour, maybe longer and I'll let you know how it goes, I'm pretty impressed so far.

Diet Coke Freebies
Maybe you've noticed by now that I'm not really big into make up, I don't wear lipstick, I don't wear face foundation, I can live without mascara but one thing I cant go without is my eyeliner! I'm currently using the Barry M blink eyeliner pen but I got a little bit nostalgic when this package from Diet coke turned up at my door.

That L'Oreal skinny liner was the my first ever piece of make up that was all my own, something that I went out and actually bought for myself so I was very pleased to see it again! I'm not sure why I stopped using it in the first place, I think it was because the Barry M one was just that much cheaper but with this great deal they have on at the moment, maybe its time to stock up again since theyre now the same price!

From 2nd to 29th March, you can pick up a 500ml bottle of Diet Coke and a L’Oréal Super Liner Blackbuster or L’Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim eyeliner for only £5 at Boots. That’s a 40% saving (RRP £8.36).

Wagamama Ramen
We love Wagas! Andrew has a ramen every single time we go, but I mix it up and order something different most times although I usually stick between cha han, teriyaki donburi and the famous chicken katsu curry. As you can see, I like my rice, I think thats probably why I havent picked a ramen dish for years now!

During March though, Wagas are celebrating their ramen and thought it was about time that I tried one! They have been perfecting the dish for over 20 years now and invited me along to have one so obviously, I took my ramen expert with me! His favourite is the wagamama ramen so that's what I ordered. Along came a huge bowl of steamy broth packed full with chicken, pork, prawns and mussels, I could see why it's his favourite - there is so much in the bowl! As well as all that meat they also throw in noodles, half a tea-stained egg, menma and spring onions. I was stuffed!

Andrew decided to be a bit adventerous this time and went for the new short rib version which features a huge chunk of meat! Look how pleased he is with himself! haha

BEAUTY: POREfessional Wipeout Masks By Benefit

Friday, 11 March 2016

I'm not huge on make up but I always love a new Benefit release, the products and always new and innovative and the packaging is just something else! Benefit packaging is always so pretty and these wipeout masks, new addition to their POREfessional range, for spring 2016 are no exception. I love the POREfessional green and how each mask looks like a top secret file but I especially love the fun element of having to press the button and soak the mask yourself - you have to push pretty hard but it is so satisfying when it finally pops.

Once that was done, we gave the a little squish around to make sure the mask was fully soaked (Andrew did one with me haha not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning) and then I went ahead and peeled open the pack. As the instruction said, we put on the mask, smooth side down and then sat back and relaxed for 10 minutes. I had heard from alot of people that they really stung your skin and eyes especially so I was a little bit weary and made Andrew put it on first but we were pleasantly surprised when all we felt was a slight tingle, although there was a pretty strong medical smell to them, but that was nothing really.

With stats like 94% said it cleans out pores and 89% said skin looks smooth printed on the pack, they had a lot to live up to! It also said they also contain mushroom extract which is known to clarify pores so I was hoping for a good result on that too. So what did we think? To be honest, we didn't see much happening in the way of cleaning out the pores and removing dirt and blackheads which was a shame but they were absolutely great for getting shine under control control, I could see a difference on both Andrew and myself as soon as we took them off. I also liked that you could use the rougher side of the mask afterwards to exfoliate the skin and wipe everything off. Maybe a little pricey at £24.50 for a pack of eight and being recommended that you use twice a week but I would definitely keep them on hand to pop out every once in a while when I am feeling particularly oily!
P.S Did you find my hidden photo of Andrew? haha

BEAUTY: NYE Make Up

Wednesday, 31 December 2014

Everyone got their plains ready for tonight? I have just about but it was a bit of a rush although I'm super excited for what Andrew and I have planned. Were going to one of our favourite restaurants and then on to one of our favourite cocktails bars in the Oxford street/regents street area! We're not really a crazy clubbing kind of couple although we do like a cocktail or two and as you probably know, we looove going out for food so that suits us well. Obviously I want to dress up so I'm still on the hunt for the perfect outfit but Diet Coke have helped me out in the other parts of getting ready department! A couple of bottle of coke which will be coming to Andrew's with me while we get ready and then a couple of other essentials. For me, pretty nail polish is a must and OPI are always great! Also, a red lip is pretty essential for a statement NYE look and ruby woo is one of the best although I've never worn anything on my lips before so we'll see if I'm brave enough on the night!
As for my eyes, the lovely girls at ASOS sent me a few extra NYE essentials in a brand new Barry M blink liner which I use everyday - I just find it so easy to apply and have gotten through two already this year so I was in dire need of a new one - perfect timing as they come out much blacker when they are new! I also spotted Benefits Bad Gal mascara on the site which I was really interested in, I don't wear mascara everyday but when I do, it'll always be "They're Real" by Benefit so I'm super excited to see if this one is as good! One great thing about the mascara is that it comes in a set with a full sized on and a mini handbag one which is perfect since I'm currently at Andrews and getting ready here tonight so I just threw it in my bag is it didn't take up any room at all! (sorry for the terrible photos, as I said, I'm at Andrews with no photos of what I need so I'm using my phone!)
For the outfit, I am still really unsure - I have a few ideas but I'm not sure what one I'm going with yet - I'm sure you'll see later on if  you follow me on twitter or instagram but if not I am planning a whole post on the options I have and will include some photos of what I actually ended up wearing on the night!

Hope everyone has a lovey evening tonight and Happy New Year!

BEAUTY: Benefits They're Real Push Up Liner, Remover & Mascara

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

This week I came home to a stupid red note saying I had to go to the post office to get my parcel, don't you just hate those things?! What was worse, was that my brother was actually in the house all day and just too lazy to come downstairs and open the door! So, I got in the car and drove to the post office! This was a big deal for me, I was on my own and I actually had to park my mums car in the busy high street and get back out of my space after haha and I did it and it was totally worth it too! I got home and opened a mysterious package to find a surprise gift from benefit!
Benefit Makeup

They sent me one of their new push up gel liners which I was actually planning on going to buy for myself - amazing, I've heard alot about them! I also got one of their eye make up remover creams and a sample of the They're Real mascara! This all came with what looked like a thick information booklet but when I opened it, music started playing haha there was a screen and it started playing a video - Amazing!!
Benefits They're Real

They're Real Mascara
I already happen to have two full sized products, plus about 5 samples since it is my favourite mascara ever! They sent me another sample, these are perfect for keeping in my purse, I leave one at Andrews house and one in each bag! The photos below are of my full sized one, I just thought it might be easier to see! Firstly, I love the shape of the product and just the overall packaging, its super classy and cute! The actual product itself is just the best mascara I've ever used - Its all in the wand! It makes my lashes super long, skinny and dark but with no clumps, just how I like my lashes!

Benefit Mascara
They're Real Mascara
They're Real Remover
I've always used wipes in the past so this was something different but much better! For me, it works really well and even gets mascara off in a few wipes which I always have trouble, no more scrubbing!! Obviously, it's also a lot less bulky to carry around  than a packet of wipes and one other thing I liked was how it felt on my eye, I guess cream is just something I'm not used it but its was cool and pleasant!

They're Real Remover

They're Real Push Up Liner
Now for the main product! I was a bit scared to use it as I have been though many pen liners and have found one that I like and have stuck with - I cant seem to use any of the others for one reason or another. This pen is a little different to all the other I've tried, I was expecting a liquid substance but instead a thick gel comes out of the angled rubber tip!

Having just tried it for the first time, I am very pleased to say it came out perfectly for a first attempt! I am very impressed with the product as well as myself for applying it properly haha it's all about lining up the angle of the tip along your lashes and your ready to go, just one swipe and there's a perfect black line, all you need to do is fill it in!  Also, I should add that I did it without my contact lenses which is even a mission with my normal liner but this was absolutely fine, I think its going to be my new favourite product ever. If I'm on OK the first try, can you imagine how good I'll be with a little practice?!

Benefit Theyre Real Push Up Liner

Huge Thanks to Benefit for my lovely gifts - They will all be getting alot of use!

P.S - I'm off to Thailand later today, I have a post ready for every other day but make sure you check out My Instagram for updates on my trip!!

BEAUTY: Holiday Essentials - Products

Thursday, 19 June 2014

I did a holiday essentials post a few weeks ago of just stuff that I think I'm going to need and now I though its time for a products one. For a girl (lol) I really don't use many products but I have put together a few things to show you all! Strangely, alot of these things I will be sharing with Andrew, I think he uses more product than I do!
Sure deodorant and Impulse be surprised
A girls got to smell nice and it the heat that I'm expecting, I'm going to need alot of spray lolol  Impulse are great to keep in your handbag - Thailand is very humid so I've heard so a little spritz every now and them, I'm sure, will be welcome.

Vaseline Hand sanitizer
Self explanatory really, alot of people have told me to be careful about the food and getting ill so at least having clean hands is a good start in avoiding it!

Leighton Denny Foot Masque
This is more of a luxury item not really too essential but I'm sure after a long day of exploring Bangkok a nice food exfoliation will be lovely to get our feet soft and smooth for the beach later on!

W7 Nail polish and Superdry file
My mum has just sorted my gels out so these are just for back up!

Vaseline Spray & Go
I have no idea how my skin is going to take the heat (and Andrews will probably be even worse since he is soooo pale haha ) so I thought an easy to apply moisturiser might be a good idea!

Pixie Lott Batiste
This is an essential at home so of course I will be taking a can with me on holiday - the Pixie lott one is their newest release and I love the pretty colours of the can, it reminds me of the sea and smells great as usual.

Radox Shower gels
These two have become my favourite fruity shower gels products, I love the smells of both of them but obviously I don't need two full size shower gels for 10 days so I will have to choose, ahh which one?!

Hawaiian Tropic Sun Cream & After Sun
I have been using this stuff for the past two years because of it smell, its so so good and just adds to the holiday feeling. I love using the after sun as it is so soothing on my skin and yes, I will be taking factor 50!

Barry M blink & Benefits They're real
These two are the only real make up I wear, day or night! I have just received Benefits new push up gel liner and make up remover too so they very well may be coming with me too! I will also bring along a waterproof mascara from M&S just incase!!

Wilkinson razor
I will be packing a nice new razor to keep my legs smooth and shiny for the beach and pool!

Only a few days now! I'd better get packing all this away!

BEAUTY: More Playboy Make Up - Lipstick and Polish

Thursday, 17 April 2014

After the launch party last week, Playboy Make Up got in touch to ask if I'd like to try some of the polishes as well, of course I agreed as I was pretty upset that I didn't get a better look at them at the event! I was sent there two pretty reds. I'm not normally a fan of red, unless it's glitter, then I'm crazy for them. I think my dislike of the colour comes from growing up and watching all of my mums older customers go for red (she's a nail technician), it's just stuck with me that red is an old lady colour.

Saying that, this one is a great tone, it's a very bright, young, red! As for the other one - if there's glitter in it, I'm going to like it regardless.

The red polish is quite thin which is very odd because one coat seems to cover it enough. The glitter is a red glitter in a red polish so one coat will cover the nail although it if you the glitter thicker like I do then it's fine to keep layering up until you are happy.

I am actually really impressed with these two and will be looking forward to trying some of the other colours!
They also sent me a few of the lipsticks which was very kind! All very pretty colours, again, bright and young and a great coverage. I also love the packaging.

BEAUTY: Playboy Makeup; Products & Launch

Thursday, 10 April 2014

Do you guys remember Georgia? She's been on the blog a couple of times in the post! Anyway, she's one of my closest friend and when she's not travelling the world (which isn't very often) I bring her along to some of my events!

This week we had the launch of Playboy Makeup at the Playboy Club in Park Lane. How exciting! We rushed there from another event and got very lost at the station so we turned up in a big sweaty mess. nice haha not to worry, we got there just in time to see the champagne tower being filled! I went to catch up with a couple of blogger girls whilst Georgia got straight to picking up, trying and swatching every product in sight haha.
Georgia and I both left the party with a little goodie bag and a little bit drunk haha this meant that I could actually take a proper look at some of the products in depth when I got home! The first thing that really stands out about this brand for me, is the packaging, I really love it - I think its simple and but still fun!
Firstly, I got one of the liquid eyeliners, this is the product I'm most excited about, it just doest come off haha Georgia put it on at the event and literally had to scratch it off of her hand. Also, as you can see the tip is super thin and the black is a nice deep colour!
I love the mascara tube in this bright colour, its so eye catching and pretty! The wand looks great, its big enough to separate your lashes so that don't look all clumpy and horrible.
Ok, so I don't really do face make up so I cant tell you much about this except that, like the other products, the packaging is super cute and it has a playboy bunny embossed into it. It also has a mirror on the inside which is always a good thing, right?

BEAUTY: New Relseases From GOSH

Tuesday, 8 April 2014

The girls at GOSH were kind enough to send me a out a little goodie bag of their new products when I couldn't make their launch a few weeks back, I've been so busy interning that I haven't had time to have a proper look at them until today so here's what I thin:

Polishes
I was sent 05 Frosted Rose and 07 Frosted Soft Coral. The range is surprisingly thick for a glitter polish, one coat was more that enough and that is saying something when three layers is normally not thick enough. I still went in for a second coat to see what would happen - the whole nail was completely covered, no gaps what so ever. I like this polish haha although I'm not too big on these two colours, I'd love to try some of the brighter shades.
Lips

I was sent the lacquers in 006 and 002 - Funky Lips and Lovely Lips. I did think they were nail polished at first haha but their not, they're just like cute little lip gloss/lipstick hybrid. They have a sponge wand and the colours seem to come out quite deep which I quite like, they're very smooth and nice and glossy and they're enriched with Argan oil and Vitamin E to keep your lips soft and nourished!
Eye Shadow Sticks

I was also sent 2 of these to try out - 03 Light Copper and 05 Grey! Any make up in pen form is so easy to use, you have alot more control on when the product goes and when it runs out, you just wind some more up! They are soft and shimmery and quite creamy and they stay on really well! These get a thumbs up from me!
