LIFESTYLE: 2016 Goals

Online Goals
I would love to reach 1,000 blog followers in 2016. I'm not too far off and hopefully if I continue to work hard on my blog every day, it can be done! I would also love to continue to work on more fun campaigns with brands that I love!

Travel Goals
I had never really been anywhere too exotic with my family, I think Russia is about as far as we got but after visiting Thailand last year with Andrew, I seriously have the travel bug and would love to do another big holiday in 2016. Top of the list are Hong Kong, Japan and some new parts of Thailand.

Personal Goals
I was saying to Andrew just last week, we did a lot in 2016 - new restaurants, new hotels and new holiday destinations - we both really want to continue to explore and do lots of new, different things whenever we get the chance. We are going to make a point not just go back to the same place again because its easy.
As well as that, I should probably try to make more time to see people who aren't Andrew be it my friends or my family.
Health Goals
I recently realised that I literally do no exercise and I am not happy about it. I have some issues with my back so there are alot of things that I can't do but I did go swimming quite a bit earlier in the year so hopefully thats something I can start doing again in the new year.

I would also like to try harder to start looking after myself a bit more be it simply just using a hair mask or some moistureiser every now and again or going off to a spa for a massage.

LIFESTYLE: Stationary Wishlist

Wednesday, 9 December 2015

When it comes to stationary theres a couple of ways to get me - Kate Spade and anything with a face on it. I have spent hours and hours on the gift section of websites these past few weeks looking for presents and have found myself drawn to the stationaery bits more often that I was expecting.
Letter rack
How pretty is this!? My colleagues are obcessed with paperchase and I think it is rubbing off on me.

See - what did I tell you?! These are just too cute and now that I have a job, these two bits from Paperchase are actually useful as well as cute!

I wasnt sure why I like this so much because the text isnt really my thing but then I realised it looks like my blog. I do love a pink candy stripe

Theres always a place in my heart for a good pack of felt tips. I grew up with cheap felt tips that never worked so when I get hold of a good pack, I use them for everything and I look after them!

Pink notebook
And here it is, the first of my Kate Spade picks, I could literally do a whole wishlist of the stuff but I wanted to give it some variety

Are these not the cutest thing you have ever seen? As a child, I was handed down my aunts crazy eraser collection and these would be the perfect addition. Sushi with faces is so cute
These go perfectly with the notebook. duh

This one just looks like a bit of fun for those boring hours at work. Plus ducks are cute

LIFESTYLE: Last Minute Gifts At ASOS

Monday, 7 December 2015

It's finally December and that brings the first of my gift guides! I say finally but seriously, this year has just flown by like crazy, from Andrews birthday to January, to Valentines day, my birthday and on to our anniversary and Halloween, I cant believe its nearly Christmas!

I definitely started my Christmas shopping early and I got all of my big presents but I didn't manage to find everything I wanted - I like to fill up a little bag with goodies as well as a main gift so when ASOS got in touch and asked me to have a look through their gift section to see if I could find a few last minute bits and pieces (which they were kind enough to gift to me), it seemed like they had read my mind!

I never think to look through gift sections really as I usually know exactly what I'm going in for but I seriously had a lot of fun scrolling through ASOS's offerings. I ended up filling my basket up to around £300 with bits and pieces that I thought everyone would love as well as some things that made me giggle, I did whittle it down to the most important things though and for just under £100, I picked up all of this - I am most pleased with the whale mug (a treat for myself) and the toilet roll (brothers uni toilet - sorted) and as well as all the stupid novelty gifts that all the boys are going to love, there were also some lovely sophisticated gifts for the girls like a pair of leather gloves for just £20 (I think), a pretty little colouring book and a whole tin of Models Own polish!

Free delivery and my huge box turned up just a couple of days after I ordered it - I can always trust ASOS!  So if you are looking for some fail safe, last minute gifts - definitely check them out!

LIFESTYLE: Date Night At The Brewery, Romford

Friday, 4 December 2015

Last week, The Brewery invited Andrew and I along for a cheeky little date in the run up to Christmas! We haven't made time to go out and just have a nice afternoon together for ages, so it was really lovely to have an excuse to do so at our local center.
They have my favourite Nandos there but apart from that we dont tend to venture to all the other resturants so they decided we should try something new and sent us to Zizzi's to try their new Christmas offerings. Not only have I never been to the Zizzis at The Brewery, I actually havent ever been altogether!
We started with a glass of prosecco each while we looked through the menu - I aboslutely loved the presentation of these, to be honest, I thought every single dish came out looking lovely!
The set menus were amazingly priced and brilliant value for money! The one we went for was £24.95 and included a three course meal, a glass of prosecco to start and a shot of limonchello to finish, lets just say we were totally stuffed by the time we left - the portions were huge plus I can honestly say every dish was delicious.
After the enormous meal, we were off upstairs to the cinema! I grew up going to this one so it was lovely to be back really, you know just those little things like knowing where the toilets are and stuff. They were showing the new hunger games film but we decided to see Spectre since we hadnt seen it yet and Andrew is a big Bond fan! And we obvs cant go to the cinema without popcorn and a tango ice blast!

Boohoo #WeAreFamily party

I was super excited for the first Christmas party of the year earlier in the month. Boohoo had hired out the Skyloft and had rickshaws pick us up for the station. I went straight from work but couldn't stay for long as I had to get up for Bordeaux the next morning but it was super lovely to pop in for an hour to have a bauble of mulled wine and catch up with the girls!

#PastySanta
So that was the Friday, then I was off to Bordeaux for the weekend and was back at work for Monday. It was rainy and horrible and I didnt really want to be there but I did have a mysterious email from Greggs saying there were going to be paying me a visit. Little did I know that they were going to turn up at my office with Santa in tow! They brought me a box of hot christmas treats from the store which dissapeared as soon as I got back to my desk (I did save a couple of mince pies for my parents though, they love those things) and I did manage to eat a Festival Flatbread myself even though I had just had lunch - I could not resist the smell! They also came with another gift box with a personalised letter from Santa and the Kate Spade candle that I had been going on about here - What a lovely thing to do!

Brumus At The Haymarket Hotel
After last months trip the the Charlotte Street hotel for breakfast, Andrew and I wanted to try another of the Firmdale hotel restaurants. Brumus is at The Haymarket Hotel and was one of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time - we had the loveliest evening. The resturant itself was so romantic, candles & table clothes (that was my only requirement, I wanted tableclothes) and looking out over Haymarket, the service was incredible and the food was absolutely delicious and such high quality! I started with smoked salmon and then chicken pot at feu and some ice cream (cant skip dessert whether I fancy anything on the menu or not) and the yummiest cocktail recommended by the waitress too!

Saturday Night In
It was cold on Saturday night and Andrews parents were off having dinner in Mayfair so we decided to stay in and cook dinner while we had the house to ourselfs. We went out and spent a load in Tesco and then Andrew cooked me a three course dinner which was lovely! We started with ravioli which is his all time fave and I am starting to actually really love now too! Then we spotted these posh racks of lamb so we got one of those each which he managed to cook perfectly. For dessert he picked up a melt in the middle chocolate pot and I had a chocolate and fresh cream meringue mmm such a tasty night.
That weekend he also managed to book us a cheeky Christmas weekend away for a few weeks time! We've decided its going to be a new tradition for us since we had such a lovely time last year! It's a surprise and I cant wait! I have been going on about visiting The Rosewood for a while after walking past it the other day and it looking so lovely - a huge archway that opens into a grand Edwardian courtyard - a perfect winter break away from the hustle and bustle of the city center life - although I think he has booked something super christmassy so I can't wait! I am so excited to get festive!

Tia Maria X Grazia Party
Juanita and I only popped in for a quick drink after Ping Pong the other night but had loads of fun chatting to some of the girls from Grazia and messing around in the photobooth with a tia maria cocktail of course!

New Shoes
I got my first ever pair of Nike Air Max trainers this month and I literally love them! They came from Foot Locker and are so comfy. I've never been drawn to the design before but the colour of this pair just jumped out and me and I had to have them! Arent they so cute?!

Barry M Nail Care Launch
I was up bright and early to get to the St Martins Lane hotel before work for a little breakfast and the launch of four new nail care products from Barry M. There are four new products including Super Mani and Iron Mani which are both base coat treatmentrs - Super mani is a 7 in 1 which helps to nourish and hydrate nails while Iron mani helps to strengthen and harden. The other two products are Mani Masks which are semi-matte polishes which Camouflage (ridges), Colour & Condition your nails all at once.
