LIFESTYLE: Benidorm with Gala Bingo

Friday, 19 June 2015

Last week Georgia and I were invited along for a few nights in Benidorm, courtesy of Gala Bingo.
We were up bright and early on Wednesday morning and off to the airport with a stag do in tow of course. We were on the plane by 7.30am and very excited for some sun!
As soon as we arrived we ran straight up to the room, put on our new bikinis (mine is Red Herring at Debenhams) and spent the afternoon relaxing by the hotel pool in 28 degrees.
Luckily there were umbrellas everywhere so I could sit in the shade with my selfie stick while Georgia slapped on the oil and sat in the sun. I just cant handle it haha.
Soon enough, it was time to get ready for dinner before heading out to see what Benidorm had to offer. Initially there were a lot of older people and the music matched that but we managed to find one amazing club where all the young people were hiding. Sticky Vicky was the one thing that both of us had heard about before visiting Benidorm, although neither of us knew who she was - that night we found out - if you were lucky enough to see my snapchat (xxgeorgina18), you will now know who sticky vicky is too..
The next day was a little bit dreary so we decided to sleep in all morning and spend the afternoon exploring the shops. This holiday was a great opportunity me to finally use my new go-pro although I still have no idea how to use it but I did get a couple of good photos on it - all good practice for my next trip!
We had a busy night ahead! Georgia and I had been invited along to the Melia Hotel have dinner with some of the stars from Benidorm, the TV show.
We had some pre dinner cocktails first
I wore this floaty playsuit from Very and my favourite flats from New Look.
Gala Bingo were actually giving away the same trip that Georgia and I were on two some of their online players - you can read all about it here -  so there were actually 30 of us there plus the stars, a photographer and the lovely PR ladies!
We made friends at dinner with a pair who turned out to be mother and son and they were hilarious. The four of us jumped in a cab and partied for the next few hours before I lost momentum at 2am - no doubt they stayed out all night. It was loads of fun!
The sun was out and absolutely boiling for our third day so was spent it on the beach, eating froyo and fruit.
I took my glasses off for that photo so I couldn't see a thing haha. I have the same issue every time I go on holiday - its too hot to wear contact lenses all day but if I don't, then I cant wear sunglasses! I actually came across these SCLO before I left who do designer, superscription sunglasses - problem solved! How pretty are Lanvins Sunglasses.

Then it was time for a nap and to get ready for our last night out in Benidorm. It ended up a little big crazy so I didnt end up taking photos which is annoying. We spent it with a huge stag party who we couldn't understand. They were northerners and using all sorts of words that we had never heard of and we were all pretty drunk haha.

Finally on our last morning after a little rest by the pool in my amazing new Matthew Williamson at Debenhams swimming costume we checked out and wandered back into the old town for some tapas before getting our coach to the airport.
We both had loads of fun so a big thank you to Gala Bingo for taking us along.

LIFESTYLE: Holiday Memories

Wednesday, 17 June 2015

Having just got back from Benidorm (more on that later) and excited for my next holiday, I've been thinking some of my favourite past holidays this week.

Med Cruise 2013

We go on cruises every year but this was one of the most fun because this time, as well as my parents and brothers, Andrew came along and family friends too. There were a few memorable days ranging from lovely things like riding a gondola through Venice to docking at midnight and clubbing in Mykonos and then there was that one day that we all got stranded at the top of Santorini when their power station blew up. We had to walk all the way down the mountain in flip-flops with poor donkeys everywhere - It was pretty traumatic, Andrew even had to drag me out of the way when I froze on the spot when one came running towards me.

Disney - September & October 2014
Andrew and I went to Disneyland Paris a few years ago for our two year anniversary so when our 5th came around last September he paid for us to go again. September is a great time to go because it is still super hot but most of the kids are back at school so most of the rides were just a five minute wait. After I got back and told my parents how much fun we had, they got jealous and decided that they wanted to go too.

So three weeks later, I was back off to Disney but this time with my family. Since it my brothers birthday, we stayed in the big pink hotel which was pretty amazing, I've always wanted to stay there. We also managed to have dinner at Blue Lagoon which I was so sad I couldn't do with Andrew because it was closed on my first trip!

Malia 2012
This was a big group holiday with all my friends and some of their girlfriends. There was about 15 of us, me being one of three girls and we had booked into this tiny amazing hotel. It ended up that it was just us staying there so they let us have control of the swimming pool speakers meaning our days were spent around the pool blasting out the dubstep and grime. Most evening consisted of eating gyros and then on to the clubs!

Thailand 2014
So I go on about this holiday every chance I get but it was such an amazing experience. It was definitely more of a holiday than a travelling trip because we got cabs everywhere and stayed in lovely hotels. We were only in Bangkok for 3 nights but managed to squeeze so much in from driving around the city and exploring 4 or 5 temples one day to the floating market and elephant rides the next and of course a tuk tuk ride to khoa San road.
By the time we flew to Phuket we were ready for some relaxing and that's exactly what we got. The hotel there was so pretty and had its own private beach. There were even a couple of weddings while we were there. We had a day of island hopping which was indredible and we ate some amazing food while we were there! We fed elephants and went snorkelling and made a couple of trips into Pantongs nightlife

LIFESTYLE: World Meat Free Day With Quorn

Monday, 15 June 2015

Today is Meat Free Day and it's all about seeing the benefits of eating less meat by going totally meat free for just the day! It can help towards a healthier, balanced diet that’s better for our planet and fairer to our food systems too - with the population set to rise by over 30% by 2050, the demand for meat simply cannot be met.

Myself, Andrew and my family are huge meat eaters but Quorn have shown me that you can still enjoy the tastes and the textures without the meat!

They invited me along to another of their cooking classes were we got to make and try BBQ pulled chicken, without the chicken. This one I was a little bit skeptical about, how on earth were they going to get the texture but it really was delicious although I wouldn't call is pulled chicken, rather, shredded but delicious all the same. We had Thai green curry for mains and there is no way you would know it wasn't meat - Quorn is know for its amazing ability to soak up flavours so its perfect for dishes like this. We finished with the most delicious, flour free chocolate tart for dessert.

Will You Be Going Meat Free Today?

LIFESTYLE: George At ASDA Homewear

Thursday, 11 June 2015

George at ASDA asked if I would like to work on them with a room update and I jumped at the chance. When we moved in a couple of years ago, I ended up with my very own en suite but having never had a bathroom to decorate before, I didn't really know what I would need - so I just let my mum buy everything. Now that I know I need a soap dispenser and towels and all that other weird bathroom stuff that know one really thinks about, I was pretty excited to kit out my bathroom with things that I actually liked.

I first went for a new soap dispenser (because the one my mum picked was a terrible, cheap plastic thing) and matching toothbrush holder. I found this amazing white quilted set - that's its official name, I just liked it because they looked like pineapples. I'm super pleased with them and considering that they both came to £8 it shows that cheap doesn't have to look cheap.

Also for my bathroom I picked some white square wicker baskets to put all my stuff in which has made it look so much tidier. Before, it was all just lined up wherever there was space so these were a massive help.

One last thing thing that my whole family always go on about but never went out and bought was a set of bathroom scales so that was a must! I now have everyone in my bedroom every morning weighing themselves.

FASHION: How To Wear Black Shorts

Monday, 8 June 2015

I bought these black shorts last winter. I spend the whole summer searching for the perfect pair - of course when I finally found a nice pair it was snowing so this outfit has been a long time coming! It felt like summer had finally arrived this weekend so it was the perfect opportunity for finally wear them.

I love the rose print on this top plus the background colour is black so it ties nicely into the outfit. It's actually part of a co-ord set with lovely matching trousers but it was just too hot for them when Andrew took these photos. It's by AX Paris and I came across it via Get The Label.
