FASHION: 48 Hours In Denim #OffDutyDenim

Monday, 28 December 2015

You guys already know how much I used to love my black jeans but blue jeans are something I am still working on. So when George at ASDA asked me to pick a pair and see how I dress them up and down over a weekend, I decided to go for a ripped blue pair.

Firstly, I just want to mention how comfortable these are, I haven't worn jeans properly for around seven months now because I am just finding them so uncomfortable but these are the softest, stretchiest pair of jeans I own so I was happy to give them a go - good start.

The weekend I picked, Andrew and I stayed at The Milestone Hotel! I have a whole other post to come on that but this one is just going to talk through what I wore. My dad actually drove us all the way there so to travel in, I started with a simple black look. I paired them with a plain black long sleeve tee, my over the knee boots and I took my amazing new faux shearling coat along for the weekend. I love wearing my OTKs with my new jeans because I love the contrast of the jeans to the boots.

I wore them again, later on that evening for drinks at the bar with my new gold sequin crop top that I picked up in H&M and my new George boots too! Lastly, to come home, we had to get the tube so out came the glasses and I switched it up for some comfortable converse and a grey slouchy tee.

Which Is Your Favourite Style?

LIFESTYLE: George At ASDA Homewear

Thursday, 11 June 2015

George at ASDA asked if I would like to work on them with a room update and I jumped at the chance. When we moved in a couple of years ago, I ended up with my very own en suite but having never had a bathroom to decorate before, I didn't really know what I would need - so I just let my mum buy everything. Now that I know I need a soap dispenser and towels and all that other weird bathroom stuff that know one really thinks about, I was pretty excited to kit out my bathroom with things that I actually liked.

I first went for a new soap dispenser (because the one my mum picked was a terrible, cheap plastic thing) and matching toothbrush holder. I found this amazing white quilted set - that's its official name, I just liked it because they looked like pineapples. I'm super pleased with them and considering that they both came to £8 it shows that cheap doesn't have to look cheap.

Also for my bathroom I picked some white square wicker baskets to put all my stuff in which has made it look so much tidier. Before, it was all just lined up wherever there was space so these were a massive help.

One last thing thing that my whole family always go on about but never went out and bought was a set of bathroom scales so that was a must! I now have everyone in my bedroom every morning weighing themselves.

FASHION: One Dress, Three Ways To Wear

Thursday, 4 June 2015

I haven't done a fashion challenge for a while so when George At ASDA got in touch, I jumped at the chance! I was challenged to pick either a dress, skirt or pair of jeans and style them three different ways here on my blog.

If you know me at all from reading my blog, you will be as surprised as I was that I didn't go for a pair of jeans - but whats the fun in that? I wear my black jeans with every thing so that wouldn't really have been much for a challenge.

I decided to go with what I am least familiar with and picked this denim dress. The waist pulls in with elestic and then there is a second layer underneath. I really loved the crochet detailing.

The first style was just plain- Dress, sunglasses and shoes. This is how I would wear the dress if I was on holiday and there was no chance that it was going to get cold all of a sudden like it does here. I really loved these floral mini heels so why not make those main attraction here. They will be great for the summer because they have loads of colours on them and they are a great height to add a little bit extra to those daytime outfits.
The second style is my favourite and incorporates white into the look. It also gives me a jacket which is essential here, even when its summer haha. Its a demin jacket but I love that its white, it gives it an edge - to finish off I've added these white pumps which also have lots of crochet detailing like the dress.
My last style was to take out the white and add black in instead. Its just a lightweight knit but I have been wearing it with everything this week, such a great staple. Paired with my go-to simple black pumps and thats that.

How Would You Style It?

Since we moved not so long ago, Harlow became our new local town. Every time I go shopping with my mum we head straight to the huge ASDA looking for food and usually a new pair of shoes for her. I never initially go in there looking for clothes for myself but I always leave shocked at how many pieces I fell in love with, it's hard to get your head around the fact that supermarkets do such nice clothes, but they do, and they are always cheap too. When I came home I went online and fell in love with a few more things!
I'm loving scuba trousers although at the moment I don't own a pair. These pink floral ones that I picked out came in a black and white version as well - I didn't like them as much although they had a matching blazer. I would love to find out if there is one to match this pink pair as I like this colour much more. The set of two would be perfect for office to bar as it is smart but still fun with a crop top and a pair of heels.

There are so many lovely dresses online but the one I was drawn too most happened to be old stock from Christmas I assume as it was in the sale! Just because Christmas is over it doesn't mean I have to stop wearing sequins - I am definitely one to wear them all year round either on a night out or special occasion! I like this one because it is a shift shape and a shift sequin dress is very hard to come by.

As for this piece, it will soon be time to transition from winter coats to jackets (Yey) and this pastel blue, leather look biker style one is pretty cool for spring!

This is just a basic raglan tee but a very nice basic raglan tee which will pretty much go with everything! I love this shade of grey (lol) and it's only £6.

These floral skinny jeans are so pretty. You might have noticed, I wear my black skinnies with everything so making the jeans the attention piece rather than the top will make a nice change! The floral pattern also makes them very feminine.

My mum thinks I am going a bit boot crazy, I seem to buy a new pair at every opportunity. These are super cute with a side zip and a perfect heel. I have similar pair which cost over 4 times the price so these would be great for every day while I can save my expensive ones for best!

FASHION: Christmas Jumper From George At ASDA

Friday, 5 December 2014

I have been so excited to wear my new Christmas jumper which I picked up at the George At ASDA press day much earlier this year but I just didn't want to wear it too early haha so when I was invited to a Christmas lunch last week I knew it was the perfect occasion! I paired it with my new Barry M Majesty polish for some extra sparkles and my new boots from Clarks to keep my feet super warm. I wasnt sure about the boots* at first but the more I wear them the more I love them! My mum has just gone out and bought herself the same pair in the black friday sales!
So I was off to The Folly in Monument for my first christmassy meal of the year! I started with soup, then on to turkey and stuffing (Obvs) and a chocolate tart for dessert! There were candy canes, christmas crackers and a huge real christmas tree in the corner! We spend the whole afternoon eating our delicious meal, drinking prosecco and chatting about how we can work together in the new year!

Huge thanks to the Beattie girls for inviting my along and making such a lovely afternoon!

Ok so now its really getting cold and its a time of year that I find reaally hard to dress for. Basically I dont care what it looks like as long as I'm warm and usually that means thick knitted jumpers. So its probably about time that I get myself some nice ones so I don't have to think about it - just out of bed, jumper, jeans and I'm ready to go.

1 - Esprit - £29.99
Love the V neck on this one and lots of room for more layers underneath and its a little bit glittery!

2 - Boohoo - £15.00
Perfect thick knit, Great price and It comes in 13 colours - I want them all.

3 - Topshop - £42.00
I love velvet and I love the design. This is so nice.

4 - ASDA - £14.00
How cute is this for a christmas jumper! Not tacky at all - I love Christmas jumpers.

5 - Matalan - £10.00
Isn't this the coolest jumper ever, from matalan would you believe and only £10?!

6 - New Look - £28.00

Ahh finally I've found a longer one. I love to wear things like this as a dress with long boots!

PRESSDAYS: George At ASDA, Specsavers, Very & Barry M

Thursday, 4 September 2014

Just a little update on my latest press days for you guys!

George At ASDA
First, I popped in to George At ASDA to see their Christmas collection! Every time I see a supermarket line I am shocked! The clothes are just so fashionable, they wouldn't look out of place in Topshop but the prices are literally so affordable! There was lots of sequins, my favourite was the sparkly floral skirt which the lady who showed me around was wearing and looked lovely on. I also loved the red jumpsuit (which also comes in blue) which costs £20, that's crazy! My last favourite of the day was the maroon coat which looked so big, warm and snugly!! Looking forward to when this hits the shops!

Specsavers
Next I popped, very briefly, along to Somerset House to see the new Specsavers designs,  after a bit of celeb spotting and a glass of prosecco over looking the Thames, I had a quite look around at all the frames. Thick frames are getting more and more popular, I didn't see a thin frame anywhere!!

After a quick pizza break I walked to St Martins Lane to my next event...

Very & Tanya Burr
Very always do lovely gifting events and this time was extra amazing with the opportunity to pick three things from the collection and special guest Tanya Burr. There were lots of pretty lace co-ords, lovely neoprene materials along with some really interesting patterns! As usual with lots of cocktails, canapés and of course there were cupcakes too!

I really didn't get any good photos as I was the first there, which meant the changing room was empty so I ran in there with all my favourite bits to try them on and by the time I was finished the room was so packed it was impressible to get any photos!

Barry M Launch
I have always loved Barry M products be it the polishes (which are the best) or the eyeliners or anything else so when I heard they were launching a new product I was very excited to try it! When I arrived, I learned that it was actually two new products, both mascaras, one for length and one for volume which are meant to both work very well together and from the promo photos they looked great!

And thats what I did yesterday!!
