Honest Burgers Limited edition Special: The BUFFALO BLUE burger

Tuesday, 28 September 2021

I try to keep my Mondays quiet but with only a few days left to try Honest burger's limited-edition BUFFALO BLUE burger, I made an exception.

The Buffalo Blue is their 2nd second collaboration with Wingmans after the Thai fried chicken one went down so well.

Served in a shiny bun, a classic Honest beef patty (cooked perfectly pink) and smoked bacon build the foundations - nothing too extravagant about that, although it was delicious.

The main event however, is very exciting.

Blacksticks Blue cheese, which comes from a family-run farmhouse and a generous helping of Wingman's award-winning buffalo sauce smothered on top elevate the flavour of this burger to something completely new.

I understand I may be a little late on this discovery, but adding blue cheese to a burger is genius.

It takes the taste to a whole other level.

Plus, it was oozing out in every direction which is only ever a good thing.

As for the buffalo sauce, all I'm saying is I can see why it's won awards. It was very flavourful and pulled it all together. It tasted great, not only in the burger but also all over the rosemary chips it had dripped on.

Get down to your local Honest Burger before October 4th to try it for yourself!

The Shake Shack Stratford Launch
I was super excited when a real life invite landed on my doorstep inviting me and a plus one to the launch of the new shake shack at westfield! Andrew and I are known to spend a crazy amount of time at westfield, whether its shopping, eating (usually both), the cinema, the casino, the champagne and sky bars and usually staying the night at the premier inn (ok so we I love Westfield) so having one of our favourite resturants open up there is amazing! And after seeing the lovely store and the very friendly staff, (who were actually amazing considering how crazy the event was - smiling all night, dancing and getting involved and very very efficient) we will definitly be back for more!

#PD1stBirthday
I have followed Public Desire and their amazing shoes since they first started so I was super excited to get an invite to their 1st birthday party. I didnt stay too long as I had a whole loads of events (on a work night as well!) We drank super crazy processo and capri sun cocktails with giant fizzy cola bottles in them, ate yummy chinese food out of paper boxes and looked at all the amazing shoes.

PD are for sure the best place to get the next biggest trend. The are so ahead of the game that they are usually the ones starting the trend in the first place.

Gu #DesertIsland
To celebrate the launch of Gú's new single puds (before they were sold as a two pack) they set up a super fun pop up tucked away in Soho called Desert Island and I was invite along for 10 minutes of me time. I didnt really know what to expect.

As I arrived, I was asked what pudding I'd like, I thought I'd try something I wouldnt usually buy while I had to opportunity so I went for the lemon cheesecake, it was also super hot out so I thought that would be the more refreshing choice as apposed to a hot chocolate one haha logical right?

After picking St Lucia as my paradise of choice, I was led down the stairs to a room set up with a table and one chair for me to enjoy my dessert undisturbed. There were fake trees, all the sounds and smells of what I can imagine St Lucia is like plus the giant screen in front of me showing the beach.

I didnt take many photos since I only had 10 minutes and I wanted to make the most of them! It was pretty odd but super fun and I left with a bag full of desserts too! Only in London.

LIFESTYLE: Five Guys, Harlow

Thursday, 13 November 2014

I was super excited when I heard a new Five Guys was opening up in my little local shopping town, every time my mum and I walked past the sign we would chat about the photos I'd seen on instagram (You guys like this place, and now I know why) and that Andrew had been and told me all about it and since neither of us had tried it before we agreed to go as soon as it opened! So what a lovely surprise I got an email from them asking if I would like to go and review the brand new store?! Of course I brought my mum come along to try it out!

I thought it was a sit down restaurant but you go up to the counter and order the same as you would for a normal fast food burger - but I kid you not - this is not a normal English fast food burger. We were very confused but the lovely staff talked us though the process - we wanted burgers, (they do hot dogs and sandwiches as well) so first you pick if you want a plain, cheese, bacon or bacon and cheese, then if you want one patty or two (we went for two each, obvs) then there are so many different topping and sauces that you order at the till. We ordered a small chips each which neither of us ended up finishing - they were huge, you get so many in one portion! Next up my mum asked for a diet coke and I went for a bottle of water. The woman looked at us like we were crazy and asked if we knew about the coke machine, she gave us what we asked for plus some extra cups and told us we haaave to try it!

She was right haha its the coolest thing I have ever seen! I never drink fizzy drinks which is why I ordered a water in the first place but this machine is my new favourite thing haha. You pick, say a coke, fine, click on the touch screen, then the next screen asks if you want raspberry, vanilla, orange, cherry the options go on and on! I opted for a strawberry sprite which was so good and pink. I had to go back and try a different one so I went for a grape fanta the second time round, doesnt grape soda just sounds so American?!

We took out food and exciting new drinks upstairs and emptied it all out on to a serviette, opened up the huge foil wrapped burgers and got started! The buns were super yummy, soft and seeded and the two thick, juicy patties inside were dripping with melted cheese. I added grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup to mine and it was such a good burger and the chips were just as good with their skin on, mmm.

We will 100% be going back to our new local Five Guys whenever we can and ordering the exact same thing - We loved it!
