LIFESTYLE: Red Velvet Baking With Betty Crocker

Sunday, 9 November 2014

I love to bake! Most girls my age do but as you might have seen before on my blog, I'm not the best at it so when Betty Crocker got in touch as asked if I wanted to try out some of their cake mixes, I obviously jumped at the chance, not sure I would have known how to make a Red Velvet mix by myself haha. With Betty Crockers easy ready made mixes, all I had to do was add in the eggs, water and oil, do some mixing and some putting together and ta dahh - I finish up with a red velvet cake. I did still manage to burn the sides after having to use two different sized cake tins and thinking that they would cook at the same rate - my bad haha but I cut them off so know one would never have known and it makes it look more homemade anyway! Plus the whole cake had been eaten in two days so I cant have done that bad of a job! I have two more mixes to try out so hopefully I wont burn those as well - I'll keep you updated!

BEAUTY: Barry M A/W Silk Range

Wednesday, 5 November 2014

These polishes were something completely new for me, I've never tried anything from Barry M's silk collection and there was something that I wasnt expecting - They're Matte. How cool?! That go on all sparkly and dry (very quickly might I add) to a subtle matte shimmer which as they are meant to do, gives it that silk effect - I decided I liked it like that and didn't add a top coat! Same bottle, consistency and brush shape as all the Barry M polishes make these very easy to apply!

I loved each one but my favourites had to be between the green and the purple - considering I'm not really a red nails person I really liked this one as it was a little bit deeper - I currently have it on for Halloween! These are definitely a great range of colours for this time of year, with Halloween, fireworks night and Christmas all on there way!

LIFESTYLE: Bens Cookies, Oxford Street

Tuesday, 4 November 2014

Since I've become cake obsessed on this blog lately, I though it's about time for a change! How about some cookies instead haha? But not just normal cookies, oh no, Bens cookies have been my favorite ever since I first had one. They aren't normal chocolate chip cookies, they are chocolate CHUNK cookies. They are huge and gooey and yummy and usually when I get one from the shop, they have just come out of the oven are are still warm and melty mmmmm.

I spotted one of their stores outside work a few weeks ago that I never realised was there before! Of course, I had to pop in for a little treat, I got a bit carried away and came out with a whole bag to take home haha but when I saw the prices for a big box, it totally made sense. They usually price them on weight so one cookie is between £1.30 and £1.70ish or you could just buy a box of 15 for £15 - totally worth it.

You would have thought 15 would last a little while, but as I've said before, no food lasts long in my house - I picked a whole load of flavours (they have 15 in total) but most of them were milk chocolate chip because those are my favourite. My brothers and my dad all took a few each, my mums friends came over and couldn't resist and Molly even go involved hoovering up all the crumbs and sitting in front of anyone eating giving them the puppy dog eyes until she got some so they pretty much got finished off within two days haha. Yummmmm

FASHION: Ping Pong Dinner Date

Friday, 31 October 2014

Earlier this week I went for dinner and cocktails with Charlotte - I introduced her to Ping Pong dim sum and taught her to use chopsticks haha. The food was super yummy and so filling we only ordered 6 dishes between us are were both stuffed by the end of it! They also have a great happy hour which meant £3.50 cocktails for us! We both have a new craze for passionfruit so thats why they are all yellow hah.
Though i might as well show you guys my outfit as well! This is a usual thing for me, skinnies, a t-shirts and boots. The cute little tee says Petit Bateau Paris on it which is the name of the brand and translates to Little Boat Paris. It's super soft and there is always room for another grey tee in my wardrobe. I also had to give a little mention to my amazing new backpack from Gola would you believe!? They have a little range of prints from Libery and I loved this purple florally one. There is loads of room inside, a few zip pockets and a drawstring to keep everything safe! Plus you may recognice my lovely Superdry boots? Last time I dressed them up and this time they are casual - very versatile indeed with just the right size heel to make a difference but not be uncomfortable!

LIFESTYLE: Halloween Outfits From Ann Summers

Thursday, 30 October 2014

A few weeks ago I was invited to pop into the oxford street Ann Summers store and pick out a few things for Halloween! The store itself is in a great location based on oxford street right in the middle of oxford street and Tottenham court road stations and its a huge store with  a bit upstairs and a downstairs. The staff were great and showed me straight to the Halloween dress up section and ran forward and backwards into the store room when I asked haha They also had no issue with me spending 45 minutes in the huge changing room deciding on what I wanted!
In the end I went for two black outfits! The first one is called The Enchanting Witch which costs £40 down to £20 this close to Halloween (or if you shop online you get even more off by using vouchers from this website). It has lots of lace and a velvet insert through the front. The bottom has a super puffy pinky, purple and black tulle skirt overlay which gets longer at the back and it comes with a matching little headband hat. I added the Bones Hold Ups to keep my legs warm!
And outfit two is called Fallen Angel and its the same price. This one comes with fluffy black wings and a black halo which match with the fluffy edging on the top of the dress! This look would have been perfect with a pair of fluffy heels too - if only I had some!

The front consists of two panels of velvet with a glitter spider web pattern which is laced together leaving a little gap though the middle. I would recommend, unlike me, you would were a black bra if you were to wear one!
