Rose Gold Travel Tech From Primark

Monday, 6 March 2017

The more I travel, the more I notice myself wishing I had certain things with me; many a night abroad have I spend stressing about whether to charge my phone or my camera because I'd only brought one adapter with me. Things like this kept happening so I made a list of all the techy things I needed to get for future trips and went on the hunt for them. What I didn't expect was that I would be able to find everything I needed in Primark or, that I'd be able to pick them all up for just over £50.
Portable Chargers £6 / £8
These days, I don't even go to work, let alone travel to another country without at least one of these with me. I got back from Portugal late last night and today is the first time I've ever forgotten to bring my wire with me; que mini breakdown when I got to work. I bought my first one in Primark years ago and still use it today although they've upgraded the ones in store a little bit now. With a new sleeker design, and a range of colours to choose from (all of these things come in rose gold uh-mazing!) there is also a choice of power; you can now get a 200mAh which is enough for one charge or a 400mAh which is enough for two!
Rose Gold Headphones £10
I've never had a pair of big headphones but after 20 hours on a plane home from Bali via Hong Kong last year, I promised myself I'd get some for any more long haul flights. As I'm sure you are aware, the headphones that they airlines give you are absolutely terrible and my normal headphones are just little ear buds which aren't so comfortable after a few hours. Also they fell out every time I moved which is pretty annoying when it took 10 minutes just to get comfortable in the first place.
Action Camera £28
I think the next product was the one I was most surprised to see in store; the action camera. I love my GoPro but it's an expensive purchase (plus my one doesn't have a screen which is really annoying). Primark's action camera is the same size, it comes in a waterproof case and it has a screen! Whilst the photos and videos are not as good quality, they were actually better than I was expecting (see here) and would be fine for sharing on Facebook. The camera is super easy to use and comes with 6 different fittings, as well as a 8mb memory card so you dont have to buy one!
Worldwide adapter £10
Again, for that trip, we did all the research, we spent £15 on plug adapters before we left and it turns out they use the same plugs in Hong Kong and Bali as they do in Europe so that was a big waste of money. Anyone else find it impossible to get a proper idea of what plugs sockets look like around the world? Anyway, Primark are selling a changeable USB adapter which solves this problem so we'll never have to buy an adapter again. Rather than a mains to mains socket, this one is mains to USB with two ports meaning I can change my phone and my GoPro at once. If only I had one of these for past press trips.

FASHION: Suede Shorts On The Allure Of The Seas

Monday, 14 September 2015

This outfit is one of my typical holiday outfits. I have been wearing this exact same outfit on holidays for the past 5 or 6 years since I spotted these amazing shorts, in Primark would you believe?! I just love that they are an interesting pair of shorts and I colour that I don't usually wear so they make it into my suitcase every year!

If you look closely, you might even spot me wearing it in one of my very first posts back in 2012 - see, I'm not joking haha and wearing them this year was particularly exciting because suede is actually in!

I had Scoliosis when I was 14 (strangely, we noticed it while we were on holiday on a different ship) and I had it operated on and although I notice it everyday, for some reason, this is the outfit is the one that shows off my odd hips the most - they just look really different on both side and I seem to notice it most in this outfit. Everyone just tells me that I am imagining it but I'm pretty sure I'm right haha I'ts not really and issue but I thought I'd share! Can you see it?

FASHION: #AsSeenOnMe ASOS High Waist Deep Plunge Swimsuit

Friday, 31 July 2015

I loved our hotel. It was white, clean, crisp and minimal which made it just such a chilled place to stay. So of course a pool day at the hotel was the perfect opportunity to get my new white swimming costume out.

This particular swimsuit is from ASOS and has been super popular with other bloggers (ASOS stock it in loads of colours.) I loved the way it looked on everyone esle so I thought I'd give it a try although I was pretty anxious about wearing it to start with. You never see me wearing anything low cut here on my blog because I don't really do it and I wasn't sure if this cut was right for my body shape.

Luckily, I was pretty pleased with how it looked, paired with my massive Primark sunglasses. It was comfortable and everything seemed to stay in place - not that I much apart from laze around on the Bali Beds all day, drinking cocktails and dipping my legs in the pool haha.

LIFESTYLE: Exploring Mallorca

Thursday, 23 July 2015

Yey another holiday post! These photos are just a few from we took while we were out exploring. At the beginning we weren’t too sure about going back to Magaluf as adults but we wanted to stay at the ME hotel so we went for it. We were both so pleased that we did because it really did pay off - we had the amazing hotel and Magaluf really wasn’t as bad as we imagined it would be from being there four times between us in the past.

We ventured into Palma on our first full day. It is a super pretty old town and we wanted to see it all so we hopped on a red tour bus. Afterwards we walked around all the old cobbled streets and ate ice cream. I loved my outfit for this day - both top and shorts from Primark of course!

Most of the other days, we loved spending at the beach which came right up to the back of our hotel. I bought a rubber ring and just lazed around in that and splashed around with Andrew in the sea - neither of us are really sun bathers. After a few hours there, we would wander further down for lunch and more ice cream.
In the evenings we would go out in search of paella and pretty cocktail bars by the beach. One night we did go the BMC – Magaluf’s super club - how could we not?! We had been there together five years ago so we had to go back for a visit! On the last evening, Andrew took me to an amazing restaurant but I have a whole other post on that!

Until the next one..

FASHION: The Perfect Off The Shoulder Top

Monday, 29 June 2015

I bought this top last Sunday while I was out shopping with my mum and brother. We had gone out to get him a suit for his prom and I wasn't really looking to buy anything but when I spotted this top, I couldn't leave New Look without it.

This sort of style is so popular at the moment and I have been looking for the perfect one but they are all so different so it has been hard. Now that I have found the perfect white one, I want a similar top in black - possibly the same one haha - plus I want both black and white in dress versions too!

Here I have styled it up perfectly for England - it's a summery top but I've paired it with jeans so I wont get too chilly. This sort out outfit would be perfect for drinks outside somewhere pretty or even shopping because these Ruby Shoo heels* are one of the most comfy pairs of heels I own. I am looking forward to styling it a bit more summery though - I have lots of ideas for this top!

It was also a great chance to give my new Ray Bans* from Amazon.co.uk a whirl and I have fallen in love with them. I think they are my favorite pair so far - I just love how bold the wayfarer shape is.

LIFESTYLE: Glasses Direct

Monday, 22 June 2015

When  I was 11, I had to start wearing glasses. I picked out the most hardly there looking ones with very thin silver frames so that it wasn't something you noticed about me. My mum let me have Armani ones to make it a bit better.

10 years later and I now have to wear glasses to see everything. I did think about laser eye surgery with Optical Express but I'm not sure I'm ready for that. So I've s tuck with the glasses and until a few months ago I was still wearing super subtle frames (D&G of course haha.) But over the past few years, thick glasses have become a bit of a fashion statement and after Andrew taking the plunge and ordering himself a pair of Ray Bans, I started to like the way thick frames looked. So when the opportunity arose for me to get a prescription pair from Glasses Direct I was excited to see they had a Ray Bans section and I just went for it. It was time to get some thick frames.

It was much easier to order online than I thought. I had an eye test that week so all I had to do was send over my numbers and then the glasses arrived a week later.
I love being able to switch between thick frames and my normal glasses depending on how I feel. Thick frames are much more of a statement but sometime I love that. Although I try to wear my frameless pair when I'm with Andrew or we can end up looking like twins haha.

FASHION: #CANTWAITFORSUMMER Outfit With New Look & Clothing At Tesco

Wednesday, 20 May 2015

I really loved one of the outfits I wore last week so of course it called for a post of its own! You may recognise it from this post - I wore it to the Very #CANTWAITFORSUMMER event a couple of weeks ago. If you've been following my for a while, you might also recognise it from last year as part of a two piece (I wore it here.) I actually much prefer both pieces as separates - I think the bottoms look great with a black crop top and the top better with black jeans otherwise there is too much going on for my liking.

I knew it was going to be a summery event so I loved that this was super summery and bright but still work appropriate! The shoes are a new favourite of mine and they look so pretty. I love the gold detailing, especially the heel - they also have gold rings for tying up the laces.

FASHION: Glow Light Up Shoes

Wednesday, 4 March 2015

Oh look at me, I've found myself another outfit that doesn't involve black jeans and this time I've gone a step further that light blue denim - they're white!

I used to love wearing white jeans when I was younger, actually in my scene kid days, I used to wear every colour jeans you could imagine - white, grey, hot pink, green, orange, red so I don't really know how I got into this black jean obsession really.

They have a slit at the knees like my new black ones and I got them from F&F at Tesco - definitely one of my favourite places for clothes that I actually need. I'm still not 100% confident with lighter jeans but I quite like this look. I got my jumper a while ago from UCLA at Get The Label, they stock loads of cool brands with huge discounts, sometimes up to 75% off! I think it actually came from the mens section but I love a big branded jumper and it was perfect.

Now for a mention of my amaaazing new shoes. I wasn't too sure when I ordered them, if they were going to be like tacky kids shoes but when they arrived I loved them! The lights are much more impressive that kids shoes, especially in the dark so I had to include a photo for you at the bottom. Apart from the lights, I actually really like them just as casual shoes! Silver was the perfect finishing touch for this light outfit and the blue matches well. They have three different settings so you can just have them on or flashing or whatever.

BEAUTY: P.S Primark Nail Polishes

Monday, 23 February 2015

For me, its not worth spending loads on really expensive polishes that claim to last all week because most of the time, they never do. I usually pick my polishes on how much I like the colour over if I think it is going to last or not so when I spotted Primarks own polishes popping up in every store I had no hesitation in getting one to try out, I was drawn in by the amazing range of colours and after my first buy, I was back again for more. For £1 each it doesn't make a difference to my receipt if I throw a couple in with whatever else I'm buying.

They have a great range of colours - it seems most companies shy away from greens and blues which is a shame because they are my favorites and this is why I love this range, whether it's the same store or a different one, every time I go to Primark I see a new selection of colours and there is always a new one that I want.

The polish itself is a great consistency and really easy to work with, not thick but definitely not too thin which is something I hate! I also think the brushes are great - quite large and cover most of the nail in one swoop. Two coats covers perfectly which is great news because I get bored after that. Also they dry pretty quickly which is also great because I also get bored waiting.

The finish is streak and patch free, shiny (without a top coat) and seems to last as long as any other polish. I currently only have three and can guarantee I will be picking up another one each time I visit.

Here, I'm wearing the one on the far right, They don't have names so I'm just going to call it Mermaid Princess

FASHION: What To Wear To The Airport

Monday, 19 January 2015

I do love a good fashion challenge so when Qantas Airlines got in touch with their latest one I was super excited, especially since the prize includes two return flights to Australia. My childhood best friend has just moved there as well as one of my old colleagues. They have both made me desperate to visit. It looks and sounds like paradise! As well as the flights they have thrown in accommodation and a tour of the National Gallery of Victoria which is playing host to 'The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk'. Most amazing prize ever? I think so!

They sent me an ASOS gift voucher and asked my to pick out my best flight outfit for a trip to Melbourne. I've never been on a 24 hour flight before but I have been on at 14 hour one and one thing I learnt was that comfort is key! I wore a comfortable, easy dress for that flight and now, I will always wear an easy dress for a long haul flight, even if it is just so I can get those stupid white flight socks on and off easily haha yeah, I wear those, precautions and all. I also much rather being a bit too cold then a bit too hot so as long as I can stand getting in and out of the car on the England side I like to make my outfit more about where I'm going rather than where I'm coming from - although I always take a cardigan since that doubles as a blanket for sleeping on the flight.

For me, as much as comfy clothes are important, comfy shoes are essential. I can't be doing with mine being painful when I have everything else to deal with like walking around the airport shops for an hour or two or trying climb over Andrew to get to the toilets plus wearing my vans there, saves room and weight in the case for all the little sandals and flip flops. I also always travel in my glasses rather then my contact lenses so that I can fall alseep without having to worry about what my eyes will feel like when I wake up. I recently got my new glasses from Glasses Direct, they're Raybans, Snazzy.

I usually take quite a big carry on bag so I can stuff it with all sorts of rubbish to keep me entertained from my ipod, to sweets, drinks and magazines and still have stuff for the important things like my passport.
