FASHION: Boohoo Beaded Shift Dress #WeAreFamily

Monday, 23 November 2015

Anyone else notice it get majorly cold over night last week?! Winter is here, I've just spotted a Christmas jumper in the office and although I hate the cold, it does also mean that christmas is coming! I am definitely banging out the christmas jumper next week!

This year is the first year that I have had a job around Christmas time and you know what that means? My first ever work christmas party! I honestly have no idea how dressed up people get for these types of things so I am hoping to do a little series of potential outfits on my blog here in the lead up to the day!

Starting off with this black shift dress from Boohoo. Its part of their boutique range so its a little more expensive than usual but still nothing really for a party dress at £30. Its super embellished with beads and sequins and it is a really easy shape to wear, I do love a shift dress. This would be perfect through Christmas and NYE becuase its loose so I can eat and drink as much as I want and not worry about how tight its getting!

For the wintery season I have paired it up with a pair of pointed ankle boots with a chunky heel from JustFab! I fell in love with them after I saw Laura wearing them over on her blog! And I am also pleased to say that it is finally time for me to bring out my favourite leather jacket from Superdry, its pretty heavy and I usually get really hot but with it being so cold, now is the perfect time to wear it.

FASHION: Superdry T-shirt From Loofes

Wednesday, 15 April 2015

Loofes Clothing recently got in touch and asked if I'd like to do a feature with them on my blog. They stock a whole range of great brands from Converse to Ted Baker in both mens and womenswear so I thought it'd make a change to pick something for Andrew this time - he always moans about taking my photos so it was nice to treat him to a new top and he can pose while I take the photos haha he wasn't very happy about having to be photographed but he loves a Superdry Tee so he agreed.

With Andrew, most of the time it's pretty easy - when it comes to t-shirts, it's either Hollister or Superdry and usually when it's Superdry, he likes it as bright as he can so I picked out this one with its bright orange and yellow logo. Good choice I'd say.

Big Thanks to Loofes for letting me treat Andrew this time!

FASHION: #VFNO At Superdry, Regents Street

Friday, 3 October 2014

On the 23rd of September it was Vogue's Fashion Night Out and I was invited along to spend my night at Superdry in their Premier Lounge! We got to meet MTW presenter Lilah Parsons who picked out some of her favorite pieces (including the dress that I picked up). She was wearing a super cool Superdry tassel leather jacket with her initials on the back! Which is something Superdry are now doing for anyone who purchases a jacket! Apparently Poppy Delevingne wore the same on her hen weekend with "POPDOG" written on hers.

After eating all the sweets and coconut water, One of the lovely girls there took me around the whole of the A/W range - it was totally different for Superdry, don't get my wrong, I actually love all the sporty stuff with the huge logo (as you may know) but there wasn't a logo in sight! I got home and my mum thought I'd come back from All Saints! It's such a high quality range and it just looks so expensive! Plus, the experience of shopping in the Premier Lounge was great, they had huge changing room with sofas and massive mirrors which made for some much fun trying everything on and taking lots of selfies!

Huge Thanks to Superdry for a great evening!
I loved this chocolate coconut water from Chi so much that they even sent me some to have at home! They are dairy free which is amazing considering how good they taste! I have been drinking them ice cold from the fridge for breakfast and they are so good! Apparently you can heat them up too which I might try with my last one! So sad I only have one left - I need to get some of some more ASAP!!
And here is what I picked up from Superdry. I love each and every piece here as a whole outfit plus I love each piece separately for other outfits - Those boots are going to look so good with my black skinnies! I had a super hard time deciding between the leather jackets as I loved the cropped one that Lilah had on but this one that I picked in the end was super thick and warm which is going to be great for the coming months! I wore this look out last week for a posh date night with Andrew switching up the boots for some peep toe heels!

LIFESTYLE: My Valentines Day with Andrew - Nandos, Gilgamesh & The Landmark Hotel

Friday, 21 February 2014

I did say that this would be my last valentines day post this year and I'm so sad that it's all over now but I had the best weekend ever, Andrew thought of everything and really made it perfect. Sorry for the long and soppy post but I think this one is more for me, I know that I am going to want to look back at it and remember our amazing weekend together!

 _______________________________________________________

On actual valentines day we ended up at Nandos, I wasn't complaining, I had a craving and a free whole chicken to claim! I love Nandos and it was a great idea considering we hadn't booked anything, I'm sure everywhere else would have been full! So while Andrew munched away on the whole chicken, with chips, and mash, and a side of halloumi, I went for my usual, 5 chicken wings, lemon and herb with creamy mash and macho peas, yummy, I love chicken wings! After that we popped into Pinkberry to get my new favourite new snack! Their cookies and cream flavour is amazing, it tastes just like Oreos but is still loads lighter and fresher tasting than ice cream.

We went back to his and exchanged cards and he gave me the 12 beautiful red roses, which was lovely considering he has been telling me all week he didn't have time to get any, apparently he sent his dad out to get them specially! They are lovely and currently sitting in my bedroom window soaking up the sun!

The next morning we jumped on the tube with our backpacks like proper tourists and headed into London. I had no idea where we were going, this is the first time in our 4 years that Andrew has managed to keep it secret until we actually got there. We got off of our train at Marylebone station, and walked towards our hotel, The Landmark Hotel! It was amazing, and enormous, over 100 years old and very majestic. When we arrived our room wasn't ready so we headed straight down to the spa! After a little bit of swimming and relaxing in the hot tub thing, I fell asleep on the sofa while Andrew spent some time in the sauna, they just aren't my kind of thing, I feel like I'm going to die haha I love a good afternoon in a spa!
Now it was time to check in! Finally, I was so excited to see our room and I wasn't disappointed! what I loved about it was that it wasn't like a typical hotel room, it was all old looking like the rest of the hotel, and not old and broken kind of old, but old and beautiful, you'll see what I mean in the photos! We put down our bags and sat on the bed when all of a sudden, the door bell rang, what?! I didn't realise we had a doorbell haha. Andrew opened the door and a maid came in with a bottle of champagne on ice and strawberries on a silver tray. Andrew had thought of everything!

We didn't have much time as we had to start getting ready for our date! I had suggested Gilgamesh (as I normally do on any special occasion) So we drank our champagne whilst getting ready for dinner! Andrew popped out to get some cash and came back with another bottle of champagne, he's crazy but cute, he bought it because it was pink hahah.

I wore:
Top - New Look (Gifted Voucher)
Jeans - Primark
Heels* - Missguided
Andrew Wore:
Top* - Superdry
Chinos - River Island
Vans - Sole Trader
It has always been a silly dream of mine to get picked up in a cab from a posh hotel and that's what happened, it was amazing, especially when I thought that we were getting the train into Camden, it's really not very far! Gilgamesh was also amazing as usual, we both ordered pretty cocktails and got stuck in. The restaurant itself is absolutely huge and everything is made out of wooden carvings, the chairs, the tables, the bar and there are palm trees everywhere. Gilgamesh serves my 2 favourite ever dishes and I couldn't resist to order them both as well as all the others. Hoba Miso Chilean Sea bass, which is covered in a sticky sweet sauce and served wrapped up in a leaf! Andrew and I shared that and the organic rack of breaded lamb, mmmmm we always just order loads of dishes and share them all as the food is too good to only try one dish. Then, my favourite dessert, banoffee crumble, they just don't serve it anywhere else and its so good!
Afterwards we jumped in a cab back to the hotel, after a quick trip to M&S to replenish the strawberry supply and pick up some chocolate we spent the night watching Take Me Out and drinking the rest of the champagne!
In the morning, we had a wonderful buffet breakfast, yes. I did eat two full plates of breakfast haha the decision between a full english or pancakes was just to hard! Afterwards we headed back to the room to pick up our bags and headed home!
The biggest thank you to Andrew for giving me a perfect weekend and making me feel like a princess!

 I love you lots!

LIFESTYLE: Valentines Gift Ideas

Thursday, 13 February 2014

OK, so it's looking like this is going to be one of my last valentines day posts, I'm running out of time, I'm so excited for my weekend with Andrew, so after this, a post on that will be the end of valentines day for this year!

I've been on the hunt for some great valentines day gifts that aren't chocolates or flowers, and that doesn't mean instead of chocolates and flowers, that means as well as haha. I do love a nice bunch of flowers but they're gone within a week so here are some other lovely gifts that I've found!

I always love fruity smells and this one is another amazing one. its not too overpowering, its actually quite delicate and sweet, but you can definitely tell its raspberry! Scrubs are great for getting rid of all the dead skin cells and leave you feeling fresh and smooth. Massage oils are a lovely treat to use with your partner.
I love to have a candle burning but really don't do it often enough, I'm always scared to do it alone so I'll be taking this one to Andrews house and burning it there with him hopefully tomorrow evening! It already smells good, its warm and relaxing and I'm told it's meant to contain mandarin and orange blossom. Its a huge200g candle and is said to burn for up to 45 hours which is great for the price, that works out to about 40p an hour I think.

 Kiss Denman Brush* - £7.31
I always love new versions of things that I use every day and a hairbrush is no exception, especially when its a super cute! This valentines day themed brush features a sparkly pink exterior covered with silver lips and pink bristles. The website says "Using this brush will leave you feeling beautiful enough to kiss every day." Awww
This actually was a cute little surprise gift for me as I wasn't expecting it!
I stay at Andrews most weekends so I'm always looking for a little make up and toiletry bag. I may have my very own tooth brush which I leave at his house but I cant be leaving my eyeliner and my contact lenses and things like that at his so this is great for keeping everything together. Its going to get a lot of use from me, that's for sure! I love the Superdry style and the fact that it is a little transparent so I can see everything that's inside. It also comes with all the little bits you'd need on a day to day basis - a Punk Pink Nail Paint, Thunderbolt Black Eye Pencil, Shocking Pink Lip Glaze and Mudflat/Cream Eye Shadow Duo and a Nail File. I think this would make a perfect gift all year round
Love Locket Bath Bomb* - £6.95
I'm so excited to use this, I don't believe I've held out this long. I have decided that I'm going to use it at once as I dont get the chance to use a bath that often so I might as well go with the whole sha-bang, but if you like to make the most of your money (and have your own bath), as this is quite expensive, it can be cracked in half to give you 3 separate bath bombs, you get the two halves and a smaller little heart inside, how cute?! It was inspired by the heart-shaped locket with a secret photo inside. Make sure you keep and eye out for a review on my blog some time soon!
