FASHION: Ping Pong Dinner Date

Friday 31 October 2014

Earlier this week I went for dinner and cocktails with Charlotte - I introduced her to Ping Pong dim sum and taught her to use chopsticks haha. The food was super yummy and so filling we only ordered 6 dishes between us are were both stuffed by the end of it! They also have a great happy hour which meant £3.50 cocktails for us! We both have a new craze for passionfruit so thats why they are all yellow hah.
Though i might as well show you guys my outfit as well! This is a usual thing for me, skinnies, a t-shirts and boots. The cute little tee says Petit Bateau Paris on it which is the name of the brand and translates to Little Boat Paris. It's super soft and there is always room for another grey tee in my wardrobe. I also had to give a little mention to my amazing new backpack from Gola would you believe!? They have a little range of prints from Libery and I loved this purple florally one. There is loads of room inside, a few zip pockets and a drawstring to keep everything safe! Plus you may recognice my lovely Superdry boots? Last time I dressed them up and this time they are casual - very versatile indeed with just the right size heel to make a difference but not be uncomfortable!

Tee* - Petit Bateau

LIFESTYLE: Halloween Outfits From Ann Summers

Thursday 30 October 2014

A few weeks ago I was invited to pop into the oxford street Ann Summers store and pick out a few things for Halloween! The store itself is in a great location based on oxford street right in the middle of oxford street and Tottenham court road stations and its a huge store with  a bit upstairs and a downstairs. The staff were great and showed me straight to the Halloween dress up section and ran forward and backwards into the store room when I asked haha They also had no issue with me spending 45 minutes in the huge changing room deciding on what I wanted!
In the end I went for two black outfits! The first one is called The Enchanting Witch which costs £40 down to £20 this close to Halloween (or if you shop online you get even more off by using vouchers from this website). It has lots of lace and a velvet insert through the front. The bottom has a super puffy pinky, purple and black tulle skirt overlay which gets longer at the back and it comes with a matching little headband hat. I added the Bones Hold Ups to keep my legs warm!
And outfit two is called Fallen Angel and its the same price. This one comes with fluffy black wings and a black halo which match with the fluffy edging on the top of the dress! This look would have been perfect with a pair of fluffy heels too - if only I had some!

The front consists of two panels of velvet with a glitter spider web pattern which is laced together leaving a little gap though the middle. I would recommend, unlike me, you would were a black bra if you were to wear one!

LIFESTYLE: Halloween Outfits From ASDA

Wednesday 29 October 2014

When George At ASDA offered to send Molly and I Halloween outfits I was super excited, I tried very hard to get matching once obvs - I didn't get it quite right but who cares, we can rewrite the story - Little red riding hood and her devil dog!

The dog outfits were super easy to put on and we didn't have any struggling what so ever - Molly loved her cape but wasn't such a fan of the horns even though she did look super cute! I loved my outfit - super comfortable, not restricting and great for a both a family party and a club one!

ASDA are always the amazing for the full Halloween package from the food and decorations to the outfits and all the extras - and at £20 for both these outfits, its amazing value for money!

BEAUTY: Black Opium Perfume By Yves Saint Laurent

Friday 24 October 2014

Introducingggggg my new favourite perfume! Its called Black Opium by YSL* and I got mine from Fragrance Direct. It's very sweet and florally but very spicy at the same time. The website says it contains "An addictive gourmand floral with notes of: Black Coffee – for a shot of adrenaline; White Florals – to instantly seduce; and Vanilla – for sweetness and sensuality." The smell lasted all day - it has great staying power  which was great because I love it so much! I'm definitely going to be using it alot.

I also love a pretty perfume bottle and to be honest alot of the time I will only try a perfume if it has a pretty bottle! This one I like alot but pretty isn't the word for it it's more edgy, dark and mysterious - black and covered with dark glitter which makes its very Glam Rock plus this 30ml size is a great one to keep in your hand bag!

Have You Used Black Opium Yet?

LIFESTYLE: Halloween Cupcakes From The Hummingbird Bakery, Spitalfields

Wednesday 22 October 2014

As much as I am a huge summer girl, I love the later part of the year for all the fun holidays and festivals that happen and since Halloween is not far away now, I thought it might be time to start featuring some Halloween products! I have a few more to photograph this weekend so next weeks posts are going to be very halloweeney themed!

This first post is food - I love to work with The Hummingbird Bakery, everything they sell is always super yummy and amazing. This time I have six of their Halloween themed cupcakes which will be in stores until 2nd November so there's still lots of time to go and pick some up - I would definitely suggest you go and get some, even if you just have one, they are so yummy!! As soon as I opened the box the amazing smell filled the whole kitchen and I had to get in quick to photograph them and choose what I wanted before they all got eaten haha. Obvs I was drawn straight to a chocolate one partly because I haven't had chocolate cake from Hummingbird before but mostly because it was covered in edible glitter! It was light and fluffy and delicious and as with their big cakes there was also a perfect icing to cake ratio. Its become my favourite flavour from them!  Can't wait to eat another one - definitely going to try to save a red velvet one too!

As well as these cupcakes, they have mini Halloween ones which are so super cute and big cakes like the last one I posted about plus they have a pumpkin pie in which I will have to go an try, I've never had anything like that before!

What Will You Be Eating Over Halloween?

LIFESTYLE: Underground Cookery School With Old El Paso

Yey, I was invited for another trip to the Underground Cookery School -  I think they guys are starting to recognise me since I've been a few times before but I love it there! I've been three times now and each has been completely different, as has this one - Mexican night with Old El Paso plus this time I got to bring Georgia along with me too!

We arrived to lots of canopés and a few glasses of prosecco before putting on our aprons and getting started with chopping and peeling all sorts of veg to make the guacamole (which is 100X better when you make it yourself btw) and for the fajitas - I was given the peppers haha. My group also got involved in making a super yummy flour free chocolate tart mmmm.

Then we all sat down and stuffed out faces with everything we had made! Instead of usual tortillas we used Old El Paso's new Stand 'n Stuff boat shaped ones which I have mentioned on here before, they just make it so much easier to stuff as much as you can in without it all falling out and they taste just as good!

LIFESTYLE: Kindness Of Strangers Part 2

Monday 20 October 2014

This is part 2 of my two part series with Anthony Nolan. You can see part one here and part two is going to be a video that you can watch here. Last time I spoke about how I helped a stranger in need, this time I am going to be chatting about a time when someone helped me out!

I'd love to hear your Kindness of Strangers stories!

Be sure to use #ThankYouStranger

LIFESTYLE: Kindest Of Strangers Part 1

Anthony Nolan is a blood cancer charity and bone marrow register that helps thousands of people all over the UK every year. As part of their big campaign this year, which is called Kindness of Strangers, they have launched a video (I've embedding it in the post below) consisting of several people sharing their personal experiences of situations where they have received an act of goodwill or kindness from a stranger, and when they have helped someone in the past.

As part of this campaign they have asked me to blog about a random act of kindness that a stranger once did for me and one that I have done for someone else so this is part 1 of 2. This email came at quite a relevant time after a little event last week:

My room is right at the front of our house and I love just standing at my window looking out at whats going on, we have been here less than a year so everything is still really interesting to see  - whether its someone walking their dog and Molly barking at them from downstairs, new people moving in across the road or just watching the rain fall and the sun set against a different background but last weeks view wasn't so nice.

I was getting ready to take Molly to the vets with my dad for a little check up. I popped into my bathroom to put my lenses in, came back to my window to see a woman laying in the middle of the road outside. What a shock, I had no idea what was going on, there wasn't any screams or crashes and thankfully there no blood so that was a great relief but still! I ran downstairs to tell my dad who ran out to see her, she was totally unconscious.

We called an ambulance for her and ran back in to get her a pillow, then it started to pour down so we got a big umbrella and my dad sat outside holding it over her until the ambulance came and took her to hospital! I haven't heard anything else about it since, although a few neighbours came by later that evening to say thank you for staying with her all that time.
Have you ever done something kind for someone or had someone do something really kind for you?

LIFESTYLE: Autumn Flowers From Debenhams

Friday 17 October 2014

At the beginning of the year, I had flowers in my room every week for months! Its such a lovely and simple thing to make you feel happy just to have a pretty bunch of flowers! Last week, Debenhams sent me a bunch from their new range.

Their whole range of  Autumn flowers have great names, this one is called Autumn Mornings which is very fitting with its super cute sunrise colours. They are a lovely size bouquet which made them so easy to handle and get cut into size for my vase! One thing that I loved about this bunch was that when they arrived, they weren't fully bloomed so I have seem them grow and open up each day!

I also got a great email telling me when my flowers were being arranged, when they would be sent, their expected time of arrival (super fast flower delivery - they came in a couple of days) and a tracking code too!

Plus, I got a code for my readers which entitles you to 40% off which is huge!

FASHION: Ways To Wear My Very.co.uk Midi Skater Skirt

Thursday 16 October 2014

Thought I might try a "ways to wear" post for the first time on my blog since I picked up this very bright midi skirt from the last VERY VIP event and I just couldn't decide whether it was a day time or a night time skirt so I just tried both!

Daytime
I paired it with a long sleeve crop top from New Look which was actually the first crop top I ever  bought. It's great for keeping warm! For my shoes, I wore my everyday chunky black boots from Missguided! For me, this is a great outfit for shopping!

Evening
Of course it's another crop top - for me, the only way to wear a midi or anything high waisted is with a crop top! This time it's more of a bralet style from Motel Rocks with my heels which I'm sure you recognise from ASDA
