LIFESTYLE: Musical Bingo With Costa Bingo At Concrete Shoreditch

Friday 28 February 2014

Last Thursday I was invited to spend the night at Concrete with the guys from CostaBingo for a game of musical bingo. I had a crazy day which included 3 interviews across London so it was a nice way to end a busy day and finally relax after spending the day running around.

Musical bingo at concrete is a little different from normal bingo at gala - the game is like normal bingo but instead of numbers, your looking for songs oh and the its encouraged to be loud and crazy unlike normal bingo - I once was thrown out of our local gala because my friends were being too loud and crazy haha.
Costa bingo were great and supplied us with pizza and endless bottles of procecco which we all had alot of fun with, by the end of the night we were all up dancing on the tables and covered in lipstick (that was just me, somebody was a little too excited about the new lipstick that she had picked up at the Illamasqua event the night before!! *cough cough* Jayne) and although I didn't recognise any of the songs, I still had a great night and met some lovely girls!

This is my second time at Musical Bingo with Concrete, Have You Been Before?

Being such a fan of bingo, I think its time I tried some online!
You can find the right bingo site for you at Glitzy Bingo

LIFESTYLE: Feeding The Family For Under £10

Thursday 27 February 2014

Leeds Building Society challenged me to create a fun meal in for £10. Their Kick My Habits research found that the average Briton spends £17.34 per week on evenings out. (it's alot higher for me and Andrew haha alot alot) so if we were to substitute that £17 night out for a £10 night in that saves £382 per year!

So what did I do with my challenge? I not only fed myself, I fed the whole family with it! Easy! This meal is fun and easy to make and everyone always loves it. Growing up, it was my favourite meal of the week and as soon as I was old enough, my mum taught me how to make it. Now its my specialty haha
What You Will Need:

Spaghetti                                                        - £0.95
Tinned Tomatoes                                            - £1.25
Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce              - £1.19
Bisto Beef Gravy Granules                            - £2.00
Mince Meat                                                    - £4.00
                                                                         £9.39

Method:

-Start to boil the water for pasta
-Brown meat and drain excess fat
-Half fill pan with water
-Add whole can of tinned tomatoes and break them up with a fork
-Add gravy granules to taste - the more you add the thicker it gets, just how I like it
-Add a few splashes of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce and mix together
- Leave to simmer for 10 minutes and mix every so often.

and that's the meat done, now you just need to cook the spaghetti, if your clever, you'll work out how to get them both done at the same time, I haven't got that yet! Then you plate it all up and add some grated cheese on top! Yummy

FASHION: Azerka Rose Print Loose Shift Dress and Inamo St James

Wednesday 26 February 2014

Maybe you recognise the dress? Maybe just the pattern? Well your right, I loved the pattern so much that I had to get a shift dress version as well as my much loved jumpsuit.

The pretty pinks and green look so good against the black background, I think it's quite edgy and bold but still very feminine! I'd love any garment in this print and Missguided still have a few that I don't have haha Out of the four that's left, I love the playsuit with the lace triming,
As you know, I'm loving shift dresses at the moment, they are great for going out to dinner which I happen to do quite a lot! I also have IBS so everything I eat makes me bloated but in my new dress, who'd know?!
So here it is! Isnt it pretty?

Belt - Brothers School Belt

I'd also wear this dress belted in at the waist to give it a completely different shape, it looks like a different dress altogether!

LIFESTYLE: Crusha Chococlate Milkshake

Monday 24 February 2014

Isn't it a lovely sunny day! If I didn't know any better I'd have thought it was the middle of summer time, and I wish it was, although I do know and it's freezing outside as usual! This sun is deceiving and my dad wants me to take Molly for a walk. Not going to happen.

So until he got home, I let Molly out to play in the garden with her toys and I made myself a nice glass of chocolate milk.

I have been on some weird milkshake hype this last month, I have been wanting one more and more often which is quite strange for me as usually I'd go straight for a smoothie, cookie or ice cream! But I've been trying all sorts -  I've been though the thick ice cream milk shake phase and now I'm looking for something new - then I remembered Crusha

Crusha isn't a new product but this is the first time I've ever had it and I don't know why, the Crusha kitty adverts are ones that I will always remember growing up so I'm super excited to have been sent two flavours to try out!

They make a light milky milkshake, like a flavoured milk - This kind is hard to find at a shopping center concession! They are quick and easy to make at home and taste good too! You just mix some of the syrup with cold milk and your ready to go, although you do need to give it a good stir otherwise it all settles at the bottom!

My verdict on the chocolate - Yummy. Now that I have had a chance to try it myself, I can pass it on to the brother to see what they think

FASHION: We Are Hairy People

Sunday 23 February 2014

Monday was my younger brothers 15th birthday so on Sunday we had a family get together. My grandparents, my aunt and uncle, my cousins and Andrew spent the afternoon at ours.

The girls spent the whole time in my bedroom playing around with my stuff and looking though my make up, not that I have alot haha I gave Ellie - she's 5 - a pink glitter lipstick and she didn't put it down for the rest of the day, reapplying it every 5 minutes, it was brand new when I gave it to her and near enough finished when they left!

I was just looking for something comfortable and easy to wear when I found this tee in my wardrobe! Its super cute with hand painted snow flakes all over it. I was given it my the owners at the Access All ASOS Christmas party!

LIFESTYLE: My Valentines Day with Andrew - Nandos, Gilgamesh & The Landmark Hotel

Friday 21 February 2014

I did say that this would be my last valentines day post this year and I'm so sad that it's all over now but I had the best weekend ever, Andrew thought of everything and really made it perfect. Sorry for the long and soppy post but I think this one is more for me, I know that I am going to want to look back at it and remember our amazing weekend together!

 _______________________________________________________

On actual valentines day we ended up at Nandos, I wasn't complaining, I had a craving and a free whole chicken to claim! I love Nandos and it was a great idea considering we hadn't booked anything, I'm sure everywhere else would have been full! So while Andrew munched away on the whole chicken, with chips, and mash, and a side of halloumi, I went for my usual, 5 chicken wings, lemon and herb with creamy mash and macho peas, yummy, I love chicken wings! After that we popped into Pinkberry to get my new favourite new snack! Their cookies and cream flavour is amazing, it tastes just like Oreos but is still loads lighter and fresher tasting than ice cream.

We went back to his and exchanged cards and he gave me the 12 beautiful red roses, which was lovely considering he has been telling me all week he didn't have time to get any, apparently he sent his dad out to get them specially! They are lovely and currently sitting in my bedroom window soaking up the sun!

The next morning we jumped on the tube with our backpacks like proper tourists and headed into London. I had no idea where we were going, this is the first time in our 4 years that Andrew has managed to keep it secret until we actually got there. We got off of our train at Marylebone station, and walked towards our hotel, The Landmark Hotel! It was amazing, and enormous, over 100 years old and very majestic. When we arrived our room wasn't ready so we headed straight down to the spa! After a little bit of swimming and relaxing in the hot tub thing, I fell asleep on the sofa while Andrew spent some time in the sauna, they just aren't my kind of thing, I feel like I'm going to die haha I love a good afternoon in a spa!
Now it was time to check in! Finally, I was so excited to see our room and I wasn't disappointed! what I loved about it was that it wasn't like a typical hotel room, it was all old looking like the rest of the hotel, and not old and broken kind of old, but old and beautiful, you'll see what I mean in the photos! We put down our bags and sat on the bed when all of a sudden, the door bell rang, what?! I didn't realise we had a doorbell haha. Andrew opened the door and a maid came in with a bottle of champagne on ice and strawberries on a silver tray. Andrew had thought of everything!

We didn't have much time as we had to start getting ready for our date! I had suggested Gilgamesh (as I normally do on any special occasion) So we drank our champagne whilst getting ready for dinner! Andrew popped out to get some cash and came back with another bottle of champagne, he's crazy but cute, he bought it because it was pink hahah.

I wore:

It has always been a silly dream of mine to get picked up in a cab from a posh hotel and that's what happened, it was amazing, especially when I thought that we were getting the train into Camden, it's really not very far! Gilgamesh was also amazing as usual, we both ordered pretty cocktails and got stuck in. The restaurant itself is absolutely huge and everything is made out of wooden carvings, the chairs, the tables, the bar and there are palm trees everywhere. Gilgamesh serves my 2 favourite ever dishes and I couldn't resist to order them both as well as all the others. Hoba Miso Chilean Sea bass, which is covered in a sticky sweet sauce and served wrapped up in a leaf! Andrew and I shared that and the organic rack of breaded lamb, mmmmm we always just order loads of dishes and share them all as the food is too good to only try one dish. Then, my favourite dessert, banoffee crumble, they just don't serve it anywhere else and its so good!
Afterwards we jumped in a cab back to the hotel, after a quick trip to M&S to replenish the strawberry supply and pick up some chocolate we spent the night watching Take Me Out and drinking the rest of the champagne!
In the morning, we had a wonderful buffet breakfast, yes. I did eat two full plates of breakfast haha the decision between a full english or pancakes was just to hard! Afterwards we headed back to the room to pick up our bags and headed home!
The biggest thank you to Andrew for giving me a perfect weekend and making me feel like a princess!

 I love you lots!
